  6. Maybe you shoulda ditched those skimpy little 13" rims. Sucks -Brian
  7. I hope Subiesport is there and does a article on the show. I think we should just take alot of pictures of the show and then send them to the 4wheel mag's afterwards -Brian
  8. Someone broke into my RX and got my CD player and my CD's. Sucked but I wasnt upset. It gave me a reason to upgrade. I hope i dont get hit again, cause this deck is 2000x better than my old. After it happend I realised how upset I really would have been if I had to duct tape a plastic bag over my window. Thats primarily why I dont lock my car at night anylonger. -Brian
  9. I think that heads up display you see, is just the rear view mirror showing through the windshield. -Brian
  10. Yes. -Brian
  11. My 1978 Wagon wouldnt go past 80... even in 4th, downhill with a backwind. That car later blew a rear main seal... and i drove it for another 50miles with no oil. Sold it for $500 Anyhow, i have no idea what th MPG was. -Brian
  12. Yup, sounds like a subaru alright. I decided to try to race a Corvette off the line at a red light. except I was making a right hand turn. I had my tires already cranked and when the light turned I dropped the clutch... Yeah, i also dropped my front CV as well Doesnt take much to blow one up, expecially when the tires are turned all the way. The idling has nothing to do with your CV. -Brian
  13. I only ran into a few problems. one of them being the old bolts were rusted in place. While removing a couple, i did strip the threads out. I went to Ace Hardware with one of the bolts from the PK lift, and bought the same length bolt, but just a larger thread size (make sure its not TOO large, it still has to fit through the lift blocks). Then I bought a tap of the same thread, and re-tapped my holes. When I installed the lift, I used locktite and i have not had to mess with it since. That was 2 years ago. Anyone about to install a lift should expect to run into a couple problems, just take your time and try not to break any knuckles (punching the car, or the garage floor). The steering linkage was very difficult. Primarily because the protective coating PK applies, makes the inner diameter of the linkage smaller. I just used a flathead screwdriver and wedged it into the gap on the linkage to widen it... then alot of patience and cursing and it finally went into place. The engine and tranny will be hard as well.. expecially if it isnt lined up correctly. Dont tighten anything until every bolt is in place. Loosen anything that might make it difficult to manuver the engine/tranny. Once you have your blocks in place, carefully thread the bolts into the old spots. This is where your going to strip something... if one bolt is off, dont force it. Just take your time and think things through. And make sure you have a BFH handy -Brian
  14. Great! More fun things I cannot do this weekend -Brian
  15. No playing hookie. Im trying to get promoted and thats definatly not the way to do so. Besides I need the $$$ and Im thinking of working a day of OT next week. The free day i get, i may come up on. I might have to hit the Sacramento Yards this weekend after work tho -Brian
  16. CRAP!! There's no way I can get Saturday off... but maybe friday. THIS friday tho... hrm, that will be hard. How come I havent gotten the email yet? -Brian
  17. Can I share a spot with JB? I will only have 1 or 2 things for sale. Maybe a small box of nic-nak's -Brian
  18. Yeah, less typing and more etching!! See you guys in 60 days. -Brian
  19. A few years ago I stumbled into a Pawn Shop in Anchorage and there sitting on the shelf were 2 sets of Subaru issue OEM fog lights. With the switch, relays and wiring all boxed up. I haggled him down to $35 for both sets. Sold one set to a friend for cheap and setup the 2nd pair. They were amber fog lights, and worked great. Were plenty bright for the subie and everything was pretty much plug-n-play. Chef Tim now has that set, and i havent seen another since (except for one remaining on a few junk yard cars... glass already broken). -Brian
  20. Ive been wondering if the wagon would hobble up the mountain to reno. But it has no tags, and I really cant risk it. If I could find another rig I might be able to get something going. I dont think the RX is up for another off-road meet -Brian
  21. Last year it was just me and ed. I have a couple things I can bring... if I dont use them before I arive -Brian
  22. That was your excuse last year too... i dont want to hear it -Brian
  23. Yeah, im kinda booked until the big show... and I dont have a wheeling rig (yet) to take I am planning on making a trip up your way JB to help you with your brakes and whatnot. Just gotta locate another free weekend. Maybe we can do some sort of wrenchfest -Brian
  24. Yeah, he's a real good guy. Hung out with him and Adam on a weekend off-road trip (when I went and picked up my bumper from him). I havent heard from him in a while. I tried to contact him for the WCSS6 last year, but he said he would be too busy to attend. -Brian
  25. I cant believe I havent posted one yet Here's my Wagons lights: And here it is after I installed my new bumper: I only had one pair of the top lights wired, but I chose to install the wiring and switch on a high rise center console: Anyhow... its all gotta come out now. I have to retire my wagon, when I install it on its next subaru... everything will be done propper. -Brian
