  1. If it still clicks then i doubt the starter is fried. Pull all 4 plugs then try to turn it over, if it wont then its not hydro-locked. You might also want to try tapping the starter with a hammer or something to try to free it up. -Brian
  2. Did you disconnect the BATT when you did all this? Sounds to me like the starter isnt getting enough juice. Also check for hydrolock as well, but I would think it'd take alot more than 3 cycles to completly lock a cylinder, expecially with a leaking gasket. -Brian
  3. What kinda mechanic is this? Did you get a reciept for the work? Uh... he kinda took a car with a bad clutch, and turned it into a car with a destroyed engine and a damaged transmission, with a good clutch. Not sure what you could do, but i would definatly hold him 100% accountable for the damage. Is he licensed or does he run a business? Expecially a Subaru. I have yet to meet many domestic mechanic's that know much about Subaru's. -Brian
  4. Welp, procrastination has gotten the better of me. The 10th is tomorrow, and unless i jump in the legacy and cruise at 120mph, i doubt i can get $$$ to you by tomorrow. March and April were very bad months for me, financially. My roomate left, and i saw my rent double. As well as all of my bills. That and the new Legacy (with its $1100 clutch) put me in the red for a few weeks, and then this morning after I cashed my paycheck, i had to goto the rental office and give it all (and about $800 more) to them for rent. leaving me with enough money to eat and put gas in the car (91 Octane is $2.32/gal right now). Sorry Zap, looks like i missed out I'll enjoy looking at everyone elses glasses. -Brian
  5. Not alot of people that I aproach with Subaru's have the internet. In order to find hard-core Subaru enthusiasts, i have to travel into the woods. Truckee, Lake Tahoe and Auburn aren't known for their high speed internet access. A couple stopped infront of my house a few weeks ago in a '82 wagon, I gave them the USMB info and my email address but havent heard from them. See them every now and then, but it seems they arent interested in the internet as much as they are subaru's. Later tonight when I have some time i'll put together some maps from different states. I just installed Microsoft Streets & Trips 2002 and its GREAT for planning out roadtrips. -Brian
  6. Definatly, Jeff's has the info needed. Mine was a quick 5 minute job that i whipped together. I'd feel better passing something like Jeffs out than mine. Maybe we should include a map with driving directions on the back of them, but have them state specific. So oregon flyers would have Oregon directions, California flyers would have CA directions etc... -Brian
  7. Here's 1 i just put together. Just trying some things. http://usmb.net/albums/junkie/wcss6.jpg -Brian
  8. Yeah, i can help out. I was wondering if you guys had someone that was able to work with photoShop. I'll review the info and see what I can come up with. Do you have anything already in mind Zap? -Brian
  9. From what Ive heard, the backspacing on these Rota's are 5.25" as well as the backspacing of a 14" Steel Legacy Rim. So if they share the same backspacing, shouldnt they clear everything neccessary? -Brian
  10. My 1992 Legacy TurboSedan needs new rims BADLY! I found a set of 15" Rota Subzero's that I'd love to use, but the offset is rated at 40. From what I hear, a rim like this might need something like high 50's. Here are some pix of the rims I found: http://usmb.net/gallery/album73 The tires are 205/60's. If the offset wont work, is there anything I can do to change it so they can work? Thanks guys -Brian
  11. Has to be? Hrm, what about a '78 Wagon? -Brian
  12. You didnt say anything about a new sube the other night. Must mean you just got it. Old?? Hrm... red?? Hrm. 1983 GL Wagon? -Brian
  13. my JY charges around $80 to $90 for all the parts. The last time I did this job i bought the rotors, hubs & backing plates from a usmb member for $20, and got the calipers from the yard for $20 and saved a ton. -Brian
  14. You shoulda told me you'd be in Nevada. How long were you in Reno? Did you take I-80 from I-5 to Reno and back? -Brian
  15. My sube is down for a few weeks if not months. I need to replace both front CV joints and i might as well do the ball joints and bearings too. My lower control arms are also beat up pretty bad and i have replacements. I would love to make a run to hollister hills. Or even as far south as San Luis Obispo (hope i spelled that right). Also, another thing my car needs is some gutts. The thing is as slow as a snail in december. Erik, if your really fiending for some off-road action, keep in touch cause I usually head to Tahoe once a month or so to hit some trails I know of up there. NV Zeno is around there and now there's a new member that lives in Carson City with a brat that wants to do some wheelin too. -Brian
  16. I dont need sway bars, i need struts. If the struts will fit, i'd consider buying them. I dont want to spend the $$ if the struts arent going to fit. -Brian
  17. Ok, thanks Josh. I guess i'll pass on this setup. All the struts on my Legacy are shot Figured i could replace them for cheap. -Brian
  18. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33590&item=2469071463 My suspension is completly shot. I was able to use '00 WRX rear lateral arms, so shouldnt i be able to use the struts as well as the swaybars? -Brian
  19. Mine doesnt make a sound when i hit the buttons. I'll inspect all the wiring sooner or later. -Brian
  20. I dont think its the switch because if one works... they all work. If one doesnt work, none of them will. -Brian
  21. 1992 Legacy Sport Sedan. The sunroof will only operate part of the time. If the car is shut off, sometimes when you start it the switches on the sunroof control will actually work. The roof will open, close, or tilt open. But if I open it, or have it at tilt, and drive for a while, the switch will stop working. None of the buttons will do anything. Before, if I slammed the inner cover shut then it would make the switches work again... long enough to shut the sunroof but now its not working any longer. Anyone else have problems like this before? -Brian
  22. Hrm.... not a laywer either, but im pretty sure unless they were sent to your apartment in search of marijuana, they cannot hold it against you. Since the lady from the DMV called in the complaint, they should only work on that complaint. And unless she called and said "I see people smoking pot, go arrest them" then the weed shouldnt be a concern. Also, it does sound like too many people there know you Miles. If people just look at you, and call the cops then i say its time to get out of dodge and make a new life for yourself in a larger town. With more Subaru's prefferably. -Brian
  23. Thats the biggest reason too Ed Glad to hear it passed!! Wish i could solve my smog problems by removing the emissions crap. I think i need to rebuild my carb tho instead. -Brian
