TheSubaruJunkie replied to ezapar's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
LOL Somehow i knew. I think i know who it is, but whoever it was please send me a PM so i can arrange some sort of payment. And sorry Zap, but even Uncle Sam has to wait this year -Brian -
Ursalia, your right... it would be better. You have the permission to edit your original post, and if you'd like you can change their street address to their city, state, zip. Im just trying to prevent other viewers from paying him an unwelcome visit or anything. -Brian p.s. If you'd like to display your own address thats fine. I just edited all of it 1st, then read your post. Didnt even realize it was your own. I appologize.

North Ursalia: I edited your original post and removed the address's included. I understand your frustration, but we must respect an individual's personal privacy, and without the persons consent i dont find it apropriate to publicly display his Home Address. I also hope you are able to get things resolved. -Brian

Need for Speed 1 SE has a EA81 GL Wagon in with its traffic, but you cant drive it. Never heard of a copy of NFS with an XT. -Brian -
Will these Pugs work for Brat?
TheSubaruJunkie replied to Jibs's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The rims would be stamped with "390" on each of them indicating wether they are or aren't 390 rims... incase the seller doesnt know himself. Also, the tires would say 390 on them instead of R15. -Brian -
I can put together a sub-domain for the WCSS page. If you want, we can make it something like http://wcss.usmb.net or wcss6.usmb.net Let me know, that way we can include it with the flyers. Im working on directions from certain routes. if people already have convoys planned with meeting times, please PM me and let me know an Address and time to meet, i will have maps with routes, travel distance and estimated costs for multiple departure routes. Dave. We need to get together and start planning our convoy. Should we have Sacramento be a meeting place? or maybe farther north? **EDIT***Ok... i saw the webpage and it looks so good, i cant help but make a redirection page from usmb.net. The URL is http://wcss.usmb.net Should take you to a portal page with the flyer, if you click on it, it directs you to the official page's link. Might take some time to become active for ppl on the east coast. -Brian -Brian

WRX1AB welded rear swaybar brackets to his '81 DL Wagon when he put the RX suspension and diff in. Me and Shannon SF ended up taking out the entire rear torsion bar setup with the swaybar attatched and it looked like it would really help the rear end handle the weight of the wagon in turns. -Brian

oh what a sad sad XT6 story

Well, he didnt get TOO reamed on the clutch. Cost me $1100 in parts and labor to have a new clutch installed in my Legacy. But that included flywheel work as well. Also, when i got my car back i knew i could trust the work because I know the mechanic good, and (this is the MOST IMPORTANT) I spoke to a few of his customers who all recommended me to use him. That is the key... know who it is your taking your car to. If you cant do it yourself, its good to know someone who can and wont rape you in the meantime. I'd hate to say it... but if this is some shadetree tractor mechanic with no license and you have no reciepts then your probably screwed. Then it'd be time to take the law into your own hands. -Brian -

What kinda mechanic is this? Did you get a reciept for the work? Uh... he kinda took a car with a bad clutch, and turned it into a car with a destroyed engine and a damaged transmission, with a good clutch. Not sure what you could do, but i would definatly hold him 100% accountable for the damage. Is he licensed or does he run a business? Expecially a Subaru. I have yet to meet many domestic mechanic's that know much about Subaru's. -Brian -
Welp, procrastination has gotten the better of me. The 10th is tomorrow, and unless i jump in the legacy and cruise at 120mph, i doubt i can get $$$ to you by tomorrow. March and April were very bad months for me, financially. My roomate left, and i saw my rent double. As well as all of my bills. That and the new Legacy (with its $1100 clutch) put me in the red for a few weeks, and then this morning after I cashed my paycheck, i had to goto the rental office and give it all (and about $800 more) to them for rent. leaving me with enough money to eat and put gas in the car (91 Octane is $2.32/gal right now). Sorry Zap, looks like i missed out I'll enjoy looking at everyone elses glasses. -Brian

Not alot of people that I aproach with Subaru's have the internet. In order to find hard-core Subaru enthusiasts, i have to travel into the woods. Truckee, Lake Tahoe and Auburn aren't known for their high speed internet access. A couple stopped infront of my house a few weeks ago in a '82 wagon, I gave them the USMB info and my email address but havent heard from them. See them every now and then, but it seems they arent interested in the internet as much as they are subaru's. Later tonight when I have some time i'll put together some maps from different states. I just installed Microsoft Streets & Trips 2002 and its GREAT for planning out roadtrips. -Brian

Definatly, Jeff's has the info needed. Mine was a quick 5 minute job that i whipped together. I'd feel better passing something like Jeffs out than mine. Maybe we should include a map with driving directions on the back of them, but have them state specific. So oregon flyers would have Oregon directions, California flyers would have CA directions etc... -Brian

Here's 1 i just put together. Just trying some things. http://usmb.net/albums/junkie/wcss6.jpg -Brian

Yeah, i can help out. I was wondering if you guys had someone that was able to work with photoShop. I'll review the info and see what I can come up with. Do you have anything already in mind Zap? -Brian

My 1992 Legacy TurboSedan needs new rims BADLY! I found a set of 15" Rota Subzero's that I'd love to use, but the offset is rated at 40. From what I hear, a rim like this might need something like high 50's. Here are some pix of the rims I found: http://usmb.net/gallery/album73 The tires are 205/60's. If the offset wont work, is there anything I can do to change it so they can work? Thanks guys -Brian

Has to be? Hrm, what about a '78 Wagon? -Brian
-
You didnt say anything about a new sube the other night. Must mean you just got it. Old?? Hrm... red?? Hrm. 1983 GL Wagon? -Brian

my JY charges around $80 to $90 for all the parts. The last time I did this job i bought the rotors, hubs & backing plates from a usmb member for $20, and got the calipers from the yard for $20 and saved a ton. -Brian

My sube is down for a few weeks if not months. I need to replace both front CV joints and i might as well do the ball joints and bearings too. My lower control arms are also beat up pretty bad and i have replacements. I would love to make a run to hollister hills. Or even as far south as San Luis Obispo (hope i spelled that right). Also, another thing my car needs is some gutts. The thing is as slow as a snail in december. Erik, if your really fiending for some off-road action, keep in touch cause I usually head to Tahoe once a month or so to hit some trails I know of up there. NV Zeno is around there and now there's a new member that lives in Carson City with a brat that wants to do some wheelin too. -Brian
