  1. Eyesore, i think you should calm down. Miles not be the sharpest pencil in the box, but i know he wouldn't go stealing a USMB members car, or take it to rally just cause they were bored. If you were/are that worried about it then why did you leave the car in the 1st place? Whenever I get stuck, the last thing I'd do would be to leave my car behind. In a case like this, with trusted USMB members things are different. Im glad to hear your car is safe in your arms now. Are there any cars left? -Brian
  2. Who has pictures? I am going to be making an album with public access on the USMB gallery for anyone that has images of this. http://usmb.net/gallery/album229 USMB members can go there and login using Login: usmbguest Pass: usmb Both are lowercase. This album is only for the East Coast Subaru Show pix, not just of people getting stuck but of all the fun that was had as well -Brian
  3. Im an active member of LegacyCentral's BBS as well. Their crew is great, but I wanted a USMB aspect. Forget NASIOC and IClub, I cant hold a conversation with many of them there. Anyhow, I really dont need 350hp. I rarely take my car to redline unless im passing some punk kid in his Honda on the way home from work. The VF11 has already gotten me a $250 speeding ticket. I think i will get the combo, but focus on just installing the AWIC for now. The car is still in need of new rims, and suspension. And I dont have much money to spend on my engine. Does 91White-T's have the AWIC as well? I think im going to need some pipe for the install. -Brian
  4. Are there still cars left? When is the military going to send choppers to retrieve the others? -Brian
  5. Thanks. Im still kinda Turbo Stupid. I understand the basic principles, and how they operate and understand it all. I just dont wanna go through a full days work and install the TD05 if it's going to increase turbo lag or something. The AWIC is very cool. Im looking for some radiators for it because the owner doesnt have them. Im looking into ATV radiators. -Brian
  6. Is the tranny sending any power to the transfer case when its in reverse? -Brian
  7. Oh.... there BETTER be pictures of this!! And knowing miles fox and the crew there will be video as well. When are those boys expected home? -Brian
  8. Northguy, its good to hear you got your lift and it seems like you tackled the install without any snags as well. Congrats!! I ran into a rear brakeline problem on my lift as well. Turned out there was a clip on the rear of the torsion bar I didnt see. When should we expect to see some pix? -Brian
  9. What are the main differences between these two? Was the TD05 a subaru turbo? or is this an aftermarket piece? I have an opportunity to get a TD05 with a AWIC setup, but im not sure if its worth the trouble from swapping a VF11 for the TD05? I will get the AWIC regardless, and when I do i'd like to increase the boost to somewhere closer to 10psi. Also, would anyone have pix of the swap? Thanks guys. Oh, and this is for a EJ22T in my '92 Legacy SS. -Brian
  10. The bearings have a 20% chance of making it. Thats if you live in the Lower 48 where the freeways are straight and cruise a constant 60mph. There in Alaska, on your roads... there's a 5% chance you'll make it that 800th mile. Do you have a parts car? It might only be one bearing, and if thats the case you can remove the entire lower steering hub, and install that on the sube to limp it along. I had to do that with a brat. If the bearing fails, your looking at a siezure. It wont do much harm to anything but the bearing, but it will leave you stranded and the car un-drivable. Also, at that point, when the bearing is that bad and destroyed, it makes it a pain in the rump roast to remove. -Brian
  11. FREE! FREE!!! Not to mention the other deals... well, what I'd consider "deals". Anyhow, looks like a good score. Will this turn into parts? or turn into a monster? -Brian
  12. I'll join the procrastination club. Many here who have dealt with me know. Just ask Shawn what ive been putting him through with this tailgate i got for him. (ITS ON THE WAY TOMORROW!! I SWEAR!! :-p ). If his email isnt working, im not sure there's much you can to do track him down other than meet him at his doorstep. You have his snail mail address... have you tried to send him a letter? -Brian
  13. I did an oil change, and it was still clacking. So I took it for a drive to the Gas station... got there, and it was still clacking. So on the way home from the gas station, I hammered on it. Screamed through the 1st four gears on the on-ramp, and made it home in record time. Got home, and the clacking has stopped. We'll see if it does it again tomorrow. I think it was just crying out for attention. I think i will drain some of the oil and add MMO (Kragen was out ) then drain it all and do another oil change later to make sure all the gunk is out. -Brian
  14. If im going to do an oil change, would it be bad to use a type of addative before hand to clean the crankcase?? I dont want to if its going to damage the turbo, but i'd like to do something to clean most the gunk out of my block. -Brian
  15. I know its common for the lifters to tap. But this seems exessive. It recently started. I dont have a oil pressure gauge so I have no idea what its at. There's no oil light on tho. I checked the oil for or 5 times and it always said it was full. The other day i checked and it was low, so i filled it. That solved the clicking for about 20 miles. As soon as I got to my destination the clacking was back. That was last night and now it seems louder. Is there a place i can tap into the pump to install an aftermarket oil gauge? I'd like to add a boost gauge as well so if anyone has any suggestions that'd be great. Thanks guys -Brian
  16. Yeah, ive been searching Corky But i cant find any. I'd love to get my hands on a set and have them powdercoated black. I dont really care for the silver or gold. -Brian
  17. There is a lifted Brat that's somewhere in Chugiak. I saw it on muldoon when I was in highschool ('97 or something). But it was painted flat black. -Brian
  18. tires and rims were my largest expense. Almost as much as my lift, Bumper & Rack combined. $150 for a set of decent tires, mounted and ballanced cant be beat. Make sure they didnt rummage through your lift kit when it gets there. Here are some pictures of all the parts layed out. And also in the area's in which they need to be bolted to the car. It should help as a refference for when you get yours: http://www.subaru4wd.net/New/lift/lift.html -Brian
  19. They dont call them RS's here Although i wish they would have. They are just known as Legacy Turbo's. The sedans are sometimes reffered to as Sport Sedans. I love those wheels. Thats what im thinking of doing with my Legacy. -Brian
  20. I have Sega GT for my PC, and it doenst have an XT. -Brian
  21. Is there still snow up there? I need to get the front end fixed on my Wagon. As soon as the '78 is gone i will have room to work on my '84. Also, now that i have weekends off, its time for some camping trips. -Brian
