  1. If your going to sell it, list it in the marketplace. if you want to fix it, ask us a general question. And if you aren't yelling at us, then take off your caps lock. -Brian
  2. Ive NEVER had a problem, and Ive been bombing the sube through crap since i learned how to drive one. As a matter of fact, ive never even seen a damaged skid plate either. I Heard some people double them up, use 2 stacked on top of eachother for added strength. -Brian
  3. True, and besides Im sure I can find a EA81 Wagon/coupe/sedan that has PS but is missing the engine Dave, there's always money for the ski (actually, snowboarding) season. -Brian
  4. Did you get any pix? Hopefully after the winter i'll be able to make a trip down there. -Brian
  5. The steering rack is different, it has 4 lines runing to and from it, so the engine crossmember is alittle different to account for that. The crossmember also has 2 holes in it that you use to mount a female to female connection for the hoses that route through there. I just dont feel like pulling an entire engine to get the crossmember. -Brian
  6. Thinking of grabbing the parts I need to do the conversion on my brat. Do I really need the engine crossmember, or can I modify the crossmember thats in the brat now? Another thing, should I grab the hoses from the donar car, or is there a way to get brand new hoses? I would almost preffer that over lines that have been sitting in a junkyard for godknows how long. -Brian
  7. Depends on how good you want it to look and how long you want the stripes to stay on the car. I would prolly just mask off where you want your line to be, and at least lightly sand it so the paint has something to stick to. If you want to make it look real good, spray some primer on after its sanded down alittle (just enough to get through clear coat) a coat of primer and 2 or 3 coats of krylon will make it look 1/2 way decent. -Brian
  8. I dont know. I told him if I were in a corvette, i would have lost control at the apex of the turn, when the rear end broke loose. I told him that with the FWD, the car was able to pull itself through the turn, and remain in control. He just stood there with a stupid smile on his face and told me to be careful I apologized and told him it wouldnt happen again. -Brian
  9. Yeah, it was fun. I need to find an open track or something, im either going to loose my license or life in this brat And I want to make it faster too... *sigh* I even found a NEW off-ramp that is downhill, off a bridge at 15mph, PERFECT for a controlled 4whl drift. -Brian
  10. I've been driving my Wagon around for the past few months, and just now got the Brat out of the garage for some fun. I was driving a friend home from work, and he lives off of the freeway. There so happend to be a 20mph circular off-ramp, and i love taking them at 40 to 50, with all four tires squeeling. Well, tonight was a perfect night for it I aproached the off-ramp at around 50, then slowed to 40 to get it into 3rd. All of my tires are pretty much bald street tires by now, so it didnt take much for them to break loose. About 1/2 way through the turn, i had to put it into 2nd to control the car. I came out of the off-ramp onto a bridge that crosses the freeway, and the rear of the Brat came loose as i merged onto the overpass. But what I didnt see, was the CHP officer on his bike, probably about 50 to 60 feet behind me as I did so. Of course he pulled me over, but he was actually pretty cool about the whole thing. I tried to convince him I had complete control of the car at all times and knew what i was doing, but he kept saying things like "This isn't a Corvette, you cant be driving it like one" blah blah blah.. The only thing he did was walk to the front of the car to make sure the lights were working, walked to the back of the car where he noticed there was no bumper. When he came back and asked me about the bumper, i told him i was having a dent removed from it, and it'd be back on Monday. When he came back, he ended up giving me a citation for not having any lights for my rear plate (cause the bumpers gone), and a warning of "unsafe speed" with no mention of the reckless driving. I have until Jan 6th, 2004 to have the bumper on, and that's about it. I think I shal count myself lucky, and take it alittle slower for now, definatly need to get new tires tho -Brian
  11. Looking great tex. I have to admit tho, those 18's do look alittle too big. I'd prolly go with 16's to give you more wheel travel. -Brian
  12. Its done with my camcorder, then captured with my TV card on my PC. This card sucks, im going to be getting a $300 PCI Capture Card that will do a MUCH better job. I dont mind swapping rear CV's. That rear end was welded, but in one of the video's I break it. -Brian
  13. Actually i need to re-weld my rear diff. And I think i'd preffer a welded over LSD. Not sure where that fits in the topic tho hehehe -Brian
  14. As long as your tires arent stuffed up into the fenders you should be fine. -Brian
  15. I took mine off the drivers side, and now I have mud caked on the inside of my door. The windows get dirty if I drive with them down And the back of my speakers are also muddy as well. But it is an off-road machine, hell... it doesnt even have door panels. -Brian
  16. More on the way!! I think i have a collective 2hours to capture. Im also working with Caleb, he might be composing some music to go along with the video, so maybe soon we'll see some VCD's or quite possibly some DVD's here soon (DVD's have to wait until i build my new computer). _Brian
  17. If you are in Windows XP, just right click on the file and chose OPEN WITH and then Windows Media Player. You do not need to use the DiVX Player, you just need to install the DiVX Codec. Thanks Eyesore -Brian
  18. http://www.usmb.net/movies/SoobmeSmokin.avi Ok. Its a 5Meg video, encoded in DiVX 5.1, so make sure you have it to watch this (and any of my) video. This is Soobme's Turbo Wagon with 27's. Earlier on this trip he busted a front half shaft, so we ripped the CV from the stub, and re-installed the stub giving him RWD. He also has a welded rear end as well so its true RWD I was able to make it up this hill as long as I kept momentum. Adam had absolutly no problem with the low gearing and his ER27. But Tony failed on the 1st 2 attempts. He was thinking of turning around, but Adam and I was able to talk him into it (over the C.B's... what fun!). I knew i was up for a show, so i grabbed the camcorder. And, well... the rest is in the video! -Brian
  19. http://usmb.net/albums/albuo73/JunkieSoobme2.avi That one is alittle over 4Megs and its a video of Tony and I driving up the trail. Tony bombs up it with his Turbo and Welded rear end. My poor 2bbl hitachi did a great job of pulling me up. And here's another one... This one is of me getting stuck. Its 40MB, but it sounds better and looks better than the other two. http://www.usmb.net/movies/JunkieDirtStuck.avi -Brian
  20. Tony, i actually have video compressed of your rig and my rig driving up that trail where Adam's strut popped out for the 2nd time. that video is alot larger and will be online as soon as I get home. I also have video of when i tried to drive BACK UP that dirt pile, and got stuck. Those will all be up soon. Adam, i have alot of footage of your rig i need to capture still. And i'd LOVE to get that footage from you Adam. As you can see, or soon will see, your in every shot getting the best shot hahaha.. More to come later... oh, and you MUST have DiVX 5.1! If you didnt, these files would be 200MB+ -Brian
  21. I was able to get my hands on a cheasy PCI Video Capture Card for my computer. It isnt the best, but it works. The files are compressed using DiVX 5.1, the 1st video thats done is something like 6.5MB: http://usmb.net/albums/albuo73/JunkieDirt.avi I will have another one ready soon. -Brian
  22. Yeah, the server that is running the gallery is a piece of crap. My 3 month subscription is almost up, and im thinking of moving to ViperHost, the server the actual USMB runs on. For future refference, none of the moderators here have any control over the Gallery. Shawn is an assistant admin there, but i have complete control over the entire operation (MWAHAHAHAHAHA) -Brian
  23. Very nice! We should hold some sort of central Oregon mass meet so i dont have to drive to Washington to wheel with the OR Crew & The HP. -Brian
  24. A picture is worth a Million Words: Who needs bushings? I heard thats a 3/8" nut and bolt, i could be wrong tho. Havent done it myself, I give credit to General Disorder for the image above. -Brian
  25. I would go with alloys. You'll be happier and so with the RX. I might have a set of 13" alloys for you if you want them. Got any pix of the new toy? -Brian
