Damn light posts ALWAYS jumpin out infront of me!
The border to the sidewalk was a Safeway parking lot. I didnt even realize the post was there until i hit it. I was paying attention to the toyota next to me, i wanted to make sure i had enough room to clear her car. Its not like I drove onto the sidewalk, and hit the pole, the pole was less than 6" from the edge. Had i seen it, i most likely wouldnt have tried it. But yeah, oh well... no hard feelings. Im thinking of painting the front end of my car black anyhow, so im not too conserned if the paint codes dont match. -Brian

Sluggish off Idle, EA81
My Brat has a problem with acceleration off the line, or if Im driving slightly off idle. It seems sluggish. Kinda like its bucking alittle. If i dont feather the clutch while accelerating off the line, the car will buck and tend to stall out. I just got done replacing both fuel filters, and i re-timed the engine to 12d BTDC, but its still doing it. The car has a new Acell SuperStock coil, and 8mm wires. I gapped the plugs to .050" as well. -Brian

Yeah, no worries. At least it wasnt my brat. The wagon can be repaired, i would rather keep the brat from having to be repaired All is okay, just need to gather some parts. Might be able to salvage the hood. Already have parts lined up, should have it rolling again in no time. -Brian

Already have the parts lined up. SubaruBrat, the brat is for sale. 1st person to show me $3,000 cash can drive it home. That is the only thing that will pry it from my cold dead hands -Brian

Damn light posts ALWAYS jumpin out infront of me!
Took the wagon to the off-road park yesterday for a fresh mud bath. After 3 days of rain, we finally had some very very sweet mud to play in. On the way home, I was driving and aproached an intersection. The intersection had a right turn lane, but i wasnt able to get to it cause it was blocked by the Toyota in front of me. There was enough room to go around, but i had to get the front passenger tire up on the curb to make it. Well, as soon as the tire reached the curb, the force of the tire climbing the curb pulled the steering wheel out of my hand, and it made a hard right turn RIGHT into a telephone/light post. One of those 16"-18" diameter wooden posts. The car was still accelerating, and it drove RIGHT INTO the post. Happend before I could even react. No major damage, no injuries and best of all, no damage to anything except my Wagon. Drove to the nearest parking lot, cut away the bumper, removed the fender and drove home. Imagine all the looks I got when people saw this driving down the street: And one more to show just how much fun I had an hour prior to the accident: More pix, of course, here: http://usmb.net/gallery/albuo10 Already have parts lined up. Looks like no structural damage other than the headlight assembly. Shouldnt be hard to buff out. -Brian

YAY! My lift is in! - UPDATE - Installed the Tires today!
BYB lifts have absolutly NO camber problems at all. Front or rear, its all 100% just like stock. Dante, the best and easiest way to fix your rear camber is to get some regular rear shocks. Maybe get some EA81 rear shocks, and make extensions like SubaruBrat did. Check out this link from his page: http://www.subarubrat.com/easyshock.htm This is something ive been thinking of doing. -Brian

185/80's = slow?
I switched from a set of 13" alloys with 175/70's to a set of 13" steel wagon wheels with 185/80's and i could tell a major difference in acceleration. With your EA82, you most likely wont notice at all. -Brian

Attn: Subaru Junkie
right now i dont need them, its not that important. Stephen, as a matter of fact... now I have 3 One is yours, just need to find the time to get to Dixon. One other thing Stephen, do you have those wagon wheels I sold you? If your not using them, i might be interested in buying them back. Trooper, i'll be down there soon. Most likely after the 1st of the year. -Brian

how do ya "re-center" a steering wheel?
When i installed my lift, after I was finished i realized my steering wheel was backwards. Same thing that happend to you, but mine was 180 degree's off. I just removed the steering wheel, and put it back on straight. Right now its a tooth off, and its not 100% straight, but its not hard to remove the steering wheel. -Brian

Yeah, i need 2 lug nuts from a pug, they have to have the cone washer on them. No need for another wagon tho, thanks for the heads up -Brian

185/80/R13 - Scrape-ing?
I ran 185/80's on my EA81, and they didnt rub, but they were real big and made the car sluggish. EA82's are a different story i guess. -Brian
-
185/80/R13 - Scrape-ing?
185/80's should fit but they will fill your fenders. I would recommend 175/70 or 185/70. -Brian

need some help, got dead sube
I think youve already narrowed it down to the fuel pump. IF the pump is getting juice, but not pumping anything.... i would think the pump needs to be replaced. -Brian

Trouble finding rims...
Listen to Caleb. You dont have the option of using a 16" or 17" rim unless you change the bolt pattern. Its easier to change to 6 lug than a 4x100 bolt pattern. But 6 lug's are for trucks, and you'd have to get 16 or 17" truck rims in a 6 lug pattern. The 15" Pugs are large enough... why do you need anything bigger?? -Brian

Pictures of my new Project Car...
Todd. My 1st Subaru (also my 1st car) was a '79 GL. I've always loved the Gen1 sube's, but could never find one in good condition. This has to be the best looking Gen1 ive seen to date, except for some of Moosen's collection. Cant wait to drive it. I'll definatly need some parts. -Brian

Pictures of my new Project Car...
Well, i was thinking of using a EA81 radiator to get it to sac. Also breaking the CV Joint's in the front and using 4WD to drive the wagon back using the rear wheels. -Brian

Rear axles are stuck *Update*
Pry Bar?? Hell, just grab the rear end with everything, brakes, axles, diff and hanger. Then when all that is out, use some elbow grease to get the stub's off. -Brian
