    Video!

This is what the post above really said, silly forum. Thanks guys. It is nice down that way (location disclosed.) There was a better climb the white wagon tried, then the red brat made it up it... But the camera got a flat battery just before then I surfed once. Not really my thing, although I wouldn't mind giving it a go when the air temp gets back up above 8degreesC. That's my bro's board, it's a ?Mini Mau? 7ft 3" long. It's a great begginers board his been told. Its sits like a pontoon on the water... I so need to get a bigger battery for my DV... You should see my next video, hehe.. I'll upload it to google and put it on site this weekend. It takes google 2 or 3 days before I can view the videos I upload. Cheers guys, and enjoy.
  2. Yeah, on offroadsubarus.com they do have a few. But on AUSubaru theres only 1 or two people that seem to show off there forester tha is built to offroad. And I've seen 1 pic from the US. I was just wondering.. I like Outbacks more too, but it's just weird how everyone seems to go for the outback over forester. (everyone: I don't mean EVERYONE, I just mean most.)
  3. Umm.. arn't subaru 4 stud (140mm) closer to 5.5" like the 6 stud (139.7mm)? 3 1/2".. Do you mean 4x100?
  4. Old VW bug wheels were huge, must of been going on 4x200... New 4 stud VW are 4x100. 6 stud jap 4x4 wheels are 6x139.7 and the two studs that line up work ok, but you can see that it isn't quite perfect, the nuts only just go into the countersunk bits. I say anything more then .5mm off and it wouln't work very good at all. So hard to find good-cheap wheels. Almost better off doing hub conversions... either 6 stud, 4x100, or totally changing the hub.
  5. I don't see many around. Only seen two pics of ones done up to offroad. Is there a reason? I mean, they are the same shape as just about every other offroad car. I thought they'd be the most popular new-gen subie to offroad. Just a weird thought I had this morning...

    Video!

I edited this up a couple of weeks ago but relised I had run out of web space on my site... So I used google video, but you can still see it on my site. Here Oh, and what was with the down time... I missed USMB last night and this morning!
  7. .... Us young guys just collect stickers... at least they don't need sowing to put them on :-p.. And we burn plenty of rice too. Nah, I remember my grand-pa bringing patches to my place for christmas.. Haven't got any others since then. Collecting is good, one day (if mick doesn't sell them all) they will be museum pieces! And people will be like "man, that must of been weird.. like using flamible fuel to power cars!.. Like, get with the times, electricity dude." Sorry, got a bit carried away. Nice collection BTW.
  8. After levering the joint out of the control arm I put the nut back on and lever it again to pull it out of the hub. I use a 5ft long solid metal bar (we call them "crow-bars", but here we call what you call a crow-bar a jemmy-bar... gets confusing.) I have not problems what so ever with this method. The subarus have a fair bit of room to get the flattend end of the bar between the hub and control arm. Unlike mazdas...
  9. very well made I reckon. The transition timming worked great. Didn't see my rig, but thats prolly cos I don't have a pic on USMB of it. Makes me want to put my M/T's on and find some mud.
  10. Yep, 5.5" or more commenly known here as 139.7mm. :-\ Toyota 2x4's use a 5 stud pattern the same as our holdens and fords here in Aus. Nissan 2x4's (in Aus anyway) have almost prefect offset to run on a old subie. Just a bit of info not related to anything.
  11. It was on Beyond Tomorrow. I barely ever watch that show and that was one of the things I saw on it the other week. Shervington was the guy who presented the "Second Life" bit on the show right? Sorry, bit off topic there. :-\
  12. When I want to drive fast I put it in 4WD... Guess I might find out how tough these gearboxes are sooner or later. I'll let everyone know if I ever do break something because of it. I'd get a lot more tire wear onroad driving like a hoon if I didn't put it in 4WD. I can do 1 wheel burnouts easy with my 215/60/15" road tires. The whole pos camber stuffs it all up. (planning on fixing that )
  13. How long has it been running and blowing this blue smoke? Sometimes you get oil leaking into places and can take 5mins to burn out. Esp when left alone for a while.
  14. Bit off topic, how big a file can youtube take? You need those drive shafts in by the look of it. Looks bloody hot, need some rain for those M/T's huh?
  15. Yes, LPG is easier, cheaper and so on. But the thing about Ethanol is you can make it out of things like Sugar. Which is much better for the environment. In Brazil you can pretty much only buy pure Enthanol for a car there. Most fuel stations don't even sell pure petrol. And it seems to give them a large boost to their economy. Of cause, they made the change in the 80's. Now it would cost too much for another country to do the same. I guess you need to read up on what plastics and rubbers you can use with enthanol and replace all the stuff that will go wrong with ethanol proof stuff.
  16. Exhaust is the two inner ones, Intake are the outter ones.
  17. Nice and shinny. You have a very clean ride there.
  18. Bet that brat is nice to drive in the hot weather.
  19. Sounds like heaps of fun was had. About 5 weeks after I got my first subie I pulled the axle out to change the inner boot. I put the race casing back in the wrong way round. Went around a really sharp left and put my foot down and it popped out. And the joint wouldn't go back in. Had to fix that at a mates place cos I was 2 hours from home. Isn't it just fun working on cars with limited tools and in the wet and cold? My bro has a garage with a pit now.. Makes life so much nicer
  20. At least it was only a bug eyed one... :-p
  21. What are they going on? Pics? Looks like the rally wheels they use on WRC cars. I like it. It's all in the prep! Good job.
  22. It costs to live in a nice neighborhood. But it's worth it. I think bucky needs some mags. But hes lookin clean all the same. Whats the bike in the garage? I want another bike, after selling my yz250 I kinda felt something was missing.
  23. Right, sorry. I am a bit young and only know what is in my face. Here is what I think of it know that I have listend to all of this. RWD may be better then FWD in a subie (but I put that down to the stupid camber they put on the subies.) But I still won't believe you can corner faster in RWD over FT4WD. I guess if you like the "out of control" feeling it's for you. But I like to go fast, esp around corners. That shiny red is nice... I just washed my car (first time in about 5 months) and it looks so nice all shiny red
  24. Looked like fun, I like the tree stump climb! lol
