Coolant Loss
BlueTrain replied to JBRIII's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
well, if its still blowing coolant all over and overheating like you stated previously, i'd probably get her fixed.. -
oops.. posted this question in off topic.. forgot i was in there.. anyways, its spring/summer and the oil debates have started (dino v. synth). i was just wonderin what oil FILTERS you all used and why... thanks...

Hmm i think at 90mph that perhaps the Aztec's aura of overall crappiness may have somehow blurred over and came into contact with your rig. Now you have to get her out in the woods to purify her. i once asked someone why they bought an Aztec... their main reason was the "cute tent thing that pops out of the back".. stay away from dem dam aztecs... they're cursed man....

About the CD player for 89 GL Wagon
BlueTrain replied to ttam2's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10011&highlight=cd+install this link should help you out.. just do a search and you'll find more info... -
Just buy a rack. Its a good investment and can be suited to carry a variety of things. Additionally, just putting your bike in the back is kinda dangerous as well, because if you're in an accident, that things gonna be flying around inside your rig. RackAttack has good prices on Yakima rack systems, and has free shipping if your interested.

BlueTrain replied to biffanyus's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ahh.. and mine turned over 150,000 today on the way to work. Should have brought some more appropriate tunes, but had to settle for "Remedy" by the Crowes... Don't want to get too happy about the milestone, since i want my rig to start in the morning. -
Funny, i was just going to ask this question in the old gen forum. I'm not a big fan of airconditioning, and was trying to figure out if there was any kind of wind deflectors out there that fit. Hopefully someone can come along and enlighten us folks that like to have the windows cracked even when raining.

advice on selling a 92 4WD loyale
BlueTrain replied to jim martin's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
lol.. i guess the reason i said 2000 was that the day before i stopped at an used car lot because i saw a Loyale identical to mine. was just curious... anyways, it had a bit of rust, a dent on the hood like someone sat on it, and a cracked windshield. Also had 203,000 miles on it. original motor. Asking price.. $4000...ya a bit high, but subarus go for ridiculous amounts here in Missoula. So, hopefully y'all see where i was coming from. -

If everything else is in order, in Montana you could get about $2000 for it...should be similar in your area.. -
I also wonder if the rise in "ricers" being fond of Impreza's/WRX has any effect on the reliability ratings. Im sure some of these aren't being treated "ideally" thus the lower than usual reliability ratings. Additionally, there probably arent that many folks racing Buick's, Hyundai's, and Jeeps. Just a thought...

Are you looking for all seasons?? I myself have a set of BFG Control T/A M65's. They have performed pretty darn well this winter in a variety of conditions. (Mud, Snow, Rain).. give em a look. I think i paid about 55 apiece for 13" 's....

Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN
BlueTrain replied to MilesFox's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
well, if you're going thru whitefish, mt..you shoudl get ahold of "mtsmiths", as he's in whitefish and may have some ideas... hopefully your rig's roadworthy as its been pretty cold (highs of like 5 degrees) in eastern montana and north dakota. Good Luck!! -
well, perhaps the wheels are out of balance. oh, and is it the same section of highway? i know this may sound dumb, but perhaps certain sections of the highway are of a different texture. i recently did a 4000 mile trip in the loyale and when going across north dakota, there were certain rougher (not torn up, but just rougher texture) sections of the highway that got the rig vibratin a bit... just a thought....

well, according to other folks on here, its somewhat common for the gauge to be faulty. actually 50-70 pounds sounds rather high for an EA-82, with your current readings being closer to the norm... mine idles at about 5lbs when warm and goes up to about 30 or so at 3000...

Why do you love your Sube
BlueTrain replied to dave valiant's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well, lets see.. i'd have to say that my recent trip to michigan and back has caused me to really love this car. Went thru some helacious weather, sub zero temps, and she never let me down. best $1,370 i ever spent.
