  1. Hi, I remember someone talking about this topic, but I can't find the dang thread! Anyway I sold a friend my timing belt kit which had a single and double bearing idler. Does the double go on top and the single goes below? (red one).
  2. I guess its safe to assume there is oil? I wonder if a bad oil filter could cause this too.
  3. Not sure which 912's I got ill have to look on the tire thought they were all the same. I just compared peoples personal reviews on the internet and friends locally, and tread wear and descriptions from both tire manufactures. Supposedly they are rated for 110,000km. Also really liked the tread, a interesting tread always buys me! Seemed like the altimax hp would fair better in rain, but not sure about snow, the tread on the 912's looked to have some similarities to a winter tire design I guess you could say. Main main issue was the price difference for me locally. Check out tirerack, sounds like the folks here llike them. I might give them a go when I got 16" to compare exactly. Guys with Altimax's how do you find the sidewall flex? If they don't work out good in the snow I will just get some hanook w409's (I think thats the model?)
  4. well i have a r12 one from my 93 which appears to have the same connections. Thanks though!
  5. I was going to get the General's, but the Falken 912's were known to be much better and cheaper. I like mine, they have a cool tread to, overall they have good grip in rain, and well see how they run in the snow soon. They are a bit more warn now, but I did track the car as well.
  6. Probably just the 94 models used the zexel compressor. I don't recall it being zexel though to be honest. Only 94's had 134a refrigerant. Thanks though will definitely look into this!
  7. lol today again works at the beginning steady, but as soon as 3 or so hot restarts with a few minute rests the AC won't work seems like it has to do with engine bay heat. My dad has to get adapters so he can hookup his gauges (hes i HVAC hehe) anyway ill tell you guys whats up, jumping the pressure switch sounds like a good test.
  8. Its a 1994 Legacy Turbo sedan. Whethers its on A/C, max a/c, DEF or Heat DEF. Same thing Cold or hot or in the middle. Compressor just doesn't want to engage. I have also tried replacing the main HVAC controller btw.
  9. This problem is really annoying. Just wondering what would tell the AC not to cycle on? Although on a normal hot day driving with AC on I experience no issues, yet when humid AND NEEED TO DEFOG WITHOUT MELTING THE CAR!! Won't turn on unless I leave the car off for 30+mins. What sensor could be bad and telling the AC not to turn on? What does that sensor behind the glove box do going into the heatercore btw?
  10. I think it is important to do coolant flushes atleast every 2 years, and oil changes at proper intervals. I wonder if people who did coolant flushes ever encountered HG issues?
  11. the 2.2 should be fine. I know what you mean though feels like i cant recommend a older subaru unless its 90-94 or 05+.
  12. I hope so the core should be covered, have any pics though?
  13. 94 2.2 valve covers are not like the newer 2.2L or the 2.5's.
  14. Are you kidding a OEM Subaru cap at a dealer should only be like $10 lol. Only use OEM parts, I always used to learn the hard way. Why spend almost the same amount twice within a few days on the same part every time dammit!
  15. but its not overheating?? Sounds like you should just try a new rad cap if it bothers you or atleast remove your cap and clean the rubber with dish soap as wipe where the rubber on the cap meets the rad.
  16. Honestly who cares. Ill bet that light will catch your attention alot faster then your guage moving. With my 94 SS i was on the highway and my waterpump was leaking for a bit and then I noticed after who knows the gauge was pointing at H. Atleast if a nice red light turned on it would have caught my attention alot sooner. I think there are to many complaints people have with new cars. Honestly they drive, they are reliable the 09 N/A 2.5's should be fine the headgasket issues were resolved years ago. They are alot more roomy so complaints about bulkiness is stupid either small car or roomy car. Drive by wire doesn't give up response but saves us plenty gas I am sure since it puts less of a load taking off. There are alot of things we could argue about all new cars, but the fact of the matter is they technically are offering more room, very reliable, more user friendly and based solely on getting you there safely, in a quiet fuel efficient manner... Atleast we still have a Boxer motor and a decent AWD system...
  17. Ya sounds like a cam seal, but could be dripping off the valve covers. Even check something as simple as the oil filter to see if its loose.
  18. my 94 SS has been doing the same, thing. Funny thing is my 93 legacy n/a that ran the same brake fluid did the same thing right after a brake flush.... I think it's time I try some different brake fluid! I am running some penzoil synthetic, and I wonder if it contains silicone.
  19. Might fix itself then if it wears to a good smooth point.
  20. Any subaru 90-2007 ? N/A for ealier like 90-94 might require wiring swap. For obd2 can probably use stock ecu.
  21. Id think around $1000 between the belt, maybe idlers, pump, and labour.
  22. I don't believe you HAVE to put premium, but you SHOULD. The newer tribeca's don't need premium but have a larger 3.6L. Maybe look into a newer one?
