  1. Do you have any local car washes that are still open? If so, spray off the cross member and bottom of the engine again to remove the brake clean. Then let it sit on the card board. There very well may have been more than one leak.
  2. Very nice Dave. He is getting so big.
  3. The bellhousing bolt pattern is the same. The difference is that the later motors have two extra threaded holes. The bolting will work with 4 bolts instead of 6.
  4. More proof...
  5. This was rumored a couple of months ago. I heard he was teaming with Chris Atkinson. If this is true it should be entertaining to say the least! Makes sense why they brought Mira in then doesn't it?
  6. I have thought about that as well. We'll see when I get to that point. 4.7 would be a huge upgrade over stock. I haven't done a tape measure verification but it appears to be the same width as my Toy axles. But, it is disc. It does accept the toy third member. I am adapting/merging the Toy and Isuzu brake lines. I like the idea of having line lock instead of cable E-brakes.
  7. There does seem to be a difference. I have seen many have issues with bearing and gear issues. Most are boosted but I have personally had both the input bearing issue and shredded teeth from second gear. I literally removed every tooth from both gears on both shafts. They are not nick-named the "glass box" for nothing. That is why so many people upgrade to six speeds. The only down fall to using the older boxes is gearing. Newer ones have better gear to gear ratios, imo.
  8. 4.30/1 They came from a V-6 auto. The gearing works well and the teeth are big enough not to worry about breaking them. Just need the dual cases now.
  9. Well, I have started the change from street/trail truck to trail truck. I installed an Isuzu rear disc brake read axle. Replaced the broken front axle. I got new poly bushing for the rear springs. The welded diff goes back in the rear. An ARB unit goes into the front. I have a flatbed for it. I will be dove-tailing it starting at the rear tires. And removing about 4-8" off the exsisting frame. My brother has been starting a fab shop and he has done an exo on his Cherokee. Mine is next, along with skidders and a re-done roll bar for the bed. Line lock and a new proportioning valve will finish of the brake system. Also moving the shock mounts to get a couple inches more travel. Should work out well. Then just need dual cases and high steer to finish it off.
  10. Only if you have a transmission jack or a lift. Otherwise, it is not easier. I have done it both ways on the floor. Never again will I pull a trans for a clutch. Sorry fair, just my opinion.
  11. There are a few ways to get the diff ratio's. One is from the part number decal on the bellhousing of the trans. The other is to open up the rear diff and get it from the ring gear. A dealer should also be able to tell from the VIN. Good luck and hopefully you'll get a good one the first time.
  12. What are you basing this off of? How many 99 and newer Impreza's or Legacy's have you had to base this on? Again you are arguing your opinion from what others have said. Statements like, "I'm guessing", "Gloyale (or someone)", "i don't recall", ... I can give you case after case of broken and worn late model transmissions. They do not all go bad but they do go bad. To say they do not is just simply uniformed.
  13. You mean like this? The street tires are 225/60R16 Rallycross tires are 27" Kuhmo mud terrain
  14. The washer won't take out the pan gasket. Over tightening could ruin the pan drain hole. I would seriously have the entire engine pressure washed. Then monitor leakage before you start changing parts. That way you can order once and get your parts. Have Jason add those to your order. Ken
  15. Call him. That way he'll know I am praising the ground he walks on! The price should be the same either way as long as you ask for internet pricing.
  16. I always use OEM. Call 1-866-528-5282 Ask for Jason. He will ship to your door. Ask for internet pricing and tell him Ken sent you. He'll take care of you for sure that way!! J/K, Jason is a great asset and goes above and beyond with every customer.
  17. Right, not like you to hold back information...
  18. I see you've met our english tutor and resident _ _ _! Do a search for Turbone and ask him. He has done it.
  19. The 95 LX is probably the best candidate for this swap. The TPS(throttle position sensor) plugs match up as well as the harness should too. The computer will manage the engine just fine. Yes, the trans will hold up fine as well.
  20. Simple bolt it. Need different center console cover and you're set.
  21. There have been a couple of them to date. Chuck from Tacoma built one that he ran in local tough truck competitions. Then there was one in Eugene. It ended up using a full Toyota frame and running gear. Running off-road will not "mean roasted clutches every time". Especially from what you describe.
  22. You can buy them(washers) at any dealer or online Subaru source. If you have any problems getting one let me know. I have extras and can mail one to you.
