I dunno.. i'm still a big fan of the OB XT's.. (maybe because i have one...) it's more of a sleeper i think... and it isn't as much of an aerodynamic nightmare as the forester... althought the suspension is waaaaayyyy to soft for that amount of power... The Legacy GT on the other hand..... wow.... sooo shiney... (w/ Forester XS Rims...) or... stock rims... again.. the forest is just too boxy... and gets worse milage..... although that isn't really something people worry about too much when they're pushing 250+ hp... it does help to get slightly better fuel economy

Yeah.. i usually just kick the crap out of it... but if that doesn't work, find a deadblow hammer, doesn't have to be huge... and smack the rim a few times... also, like everyone has said, PB Blaster is a life saver, and if you have a heat source (MAPP gas, or Aceto' ) just heat the crap out of the area, then let it rip, kicking, hammering, yelling at.. you know.. good stuff the key is, to shock it enough to break the rust bond... do the bigger the hammer... the better the blow

General Auto Salvage in Clarmont NH has TONS of subarus, alot of old ones too. As for phone numbers.. i can't seem to find my list.... i think you can find it in the yellow pages or something

my 97 OBS has power folding mirrors, you can find them all over junkyards around here i snapped one off one day.. with a kayak... gorilla glued it back on, never had any problems since then

i have a resse hitch on my impreza, it seems to get the job done, uhaul is mad heavy.. and OEM subaru stuff is way to expensive...

i bet i could make my impreza look like that.... muhahahahaha zzz

the OBS has 2 loops in the front, and one loop in the rear, and another 'tow point' on the left rear by the muffler, it's not a loop, but a big hole in a metal plate... I've used all of those to pull the car out of nastyness...none let go.. yet...

just wait until it's about -20def F.. or colder... and your speedo cable descides that it's time to start SCREAMING the second you get above 5mph :cool:

Just weld them to the body panels, they can take it There's not really many stock locations for tow points on an impreza... besides the stock ones... does that make sense? get a hitch for it... mine got me out of some pretty nasty stuff before

He's also going to need air flow out, new up & down pipes. Cobb makes some nice stuff, i think they make wrx stuff too.. not exactly sure... the access port will give you a little more nut.

Ok, here's what you need to do... either get some massive rachet straps, and strap the unibody down to the a-arm.. make sure they're the big straps, or else stuff will not be happy... second option.. get some custom coilovers made for it... might also cost you $2000+

When i first started wheelin' my OBS it was with an 97 discovery, that thing was an animal! we'd get it framed out in mud.. drop it in 4 lo, lock it up.. .and out we'd come... good times, i think a roo' would have a good time with that.. since we're so much lighter i think it'd be possible.... rediculous.. but possible. I also came within 3ft of beating that discovery in a hill climb one night.... momentum is a subaru's friend

I also got a set of Dunlop M3's They're... just.. amazing!! i went out last night to play in the snow (sledding wise).. on the way out i wanted to see how they gripped... i couldn't spin the wheels w/o spooling the turbo!! I also got the $50 rebate from tirerack

mmm yeah, the DCCD on the STi is a manual, and you want to put it on an automatic... that'll run into issues... sure you could steal the switch out of an STi and use that.... I've looked into making this type of circuit... you need two pulse width modifiers, and a 555 timer to do it up i believe... not that hard of a circuit... just remember... you're making the tranny do something that it might not want to do.. could lead to problems

Is there a clicking noise? in my 97 OBS, i had this problem, so i replaced the motor.. didn't fix anything... turns out that there were 2 things wrong, the 1st, the wires in the flex joint that go from the body of the car, into the hatch had broke (~70% of them), and the second problem is that the relay was fried, which is that 'click' noise you get when you turn it on. So i re-soldered the wires, and replaced the relay, and it works perfectly.

Gary, Mine blew up.... well... the switch burnt out, locking it on the highway... i didn't realize it until i got about... 270 miles... i believe someone else had their switch burn out too... i think if you're going to do it, you may have to use a relay... which might reduce your chances of having a switch burnout... then locking it up.. and trashing your tranny :-\

i use 80w-90, so ha :-p and yeah, change it, it's good for it, i wouln't be suprised if it comes out like honey... nice & black honey
