TSL Boots!!!
am I the only one that would want boots that left the same shape print as your TSL's? I just think that would be so kewl to leave TSL prints all over the place

Which Fender flares for my hatch
Now that's my kinda mod! Those look stock! Did you put them on just for the looks, or did you cut out your fenders for larger tires? I have simply been cutting tabs 1" in on my fenders and bending them back, so if they are still pretty close the the subaru wheel well shape I might have to go get some
-
Just got the Swampers on.
Ouch!! that one had to hurt :-p I would have liked 26" ones too ... taking me about 5 - 6 hours to properly cut 1" tabs, bend them back and then custom fit each of the nissan fender flares ... anyone used some of that flexable fender flares that comes on a roll? It seemed awfully expensive for what it is ...

Just got the Swampers on.
Nice!! I got 2 of my swampers friday, the other 2 are due in monday!! I have ONE whopping rear fender done so far ... I'll post pics soon as I can ... modding stock nissan flares to fit (cut shorter in the middle, screwed down to a metal plate at the seam, looks pretty good and very strong ) the first one is always the longest ... and this one was rusting pretty bad ... man I need a shop!! I only cut out the rust for now, too cold to prime/paint ... 34 DEG

Official Weber thread for OffRoad.........
well, before I removed the choke tower to increase flow, it was pretty easy .. DGAV 32/36 and even tho it takes alot of pumping the gas, I am still able to start it with no choke on cold days like today when it was 23 DEG the trick is there is still a fuel enrichment circuit even tho there isn't a choke, so it's a pain but it works P.S. that's with an electric choke

Anyone ever tip a soobie over ?

TSL Boots!!!
ya-know, with rain ya get MUD!! omg ... for the FIRST time in my life, I can actually say I like rain .... so rain on! Oh, and here is the really sweet part! A friend of mine is sold with the idea of buying the old tires (less than 2500 miles on them ) and I repaired the poped one, even tho the road hazard is replacing it, so he gets the new tire, 3 slightly used tires, the spare and the repaired "off-road only" spare for 1/2 the price of 4 new ones

TSL Boots!!!
Errr well, I wasn't going to, but then a branch hit the pass side rear fender and poked through some hidden cancer so now I am going to have to cut them, so I might as well go with a stronger sidewall, AND if you goto www.Intercotire.com you can see the special cosmetic blemished tires on sale! I am getting 4 28/8.50/14 LT Super Swamper TSL's for only $45 each + $20 shipping each, so a total of $260 for 4 TSL's!! It's the deal on the tires and the fact that I can replace them if I shred a sidewall again unlike the Discoverers I was using Oh ... and BTW ... where do you get "Icelandic Wool" Socks? (and please don't say "Iceland" )

TSL Boots!!!
Ahh yes, I guess that is true ... I wore a few (I was in the Air Force 5 yrs) But the biggest problem with those boots was no insulation, and that tread design I think your talking about makes for cold feet! Now if I could get a pair that were warm and have that self-cleaning ability AND had a big ole' SUPER SWAMPER badge on it, I'd pay good money to have them Pretty sad when you get out to take a pic of your Soob and fall on your butt or track half of the trail back inside with ya Today I tried to take some snow pics, and discovered too late that my flash-light batteries were too low to run the Digi cam!! DOH!!! I think I will see about some of the old style "low heat signature" tread boots at the Army/Navy and maybe just some REALLY warm socks :-p It was 23 DEG when I got up this morning

Summer gets a new ride!
hmmmmm maybe I shouldget a set of ATV wheels w/ tires to put in the back and just put them when I go to the OHV areas here ... think they would let it go on the "ATV ONLY" trails?

TSL Boots!!!
Can you tell I'm excited about the new tires I am getting UPS in a few days?! I was just digging up someone's drain line at work and thought how great it be to have some self-cleaning lugged boots! maybe we could talk Interco into the idea

Nopr, these do not have jets. it's listed on the exploded view on carbsunlimited as the venturi, it's item #91 or 92 I think. It's hard to describe them exactly

Who's Who Two (Roll call for lifted rigs)
Ok, lets try this again ... it's like rusian roulette trying to up-load pics with this PATHETIC 56k connection, but I will see if I can. ***** OMG IT WORKED!!!**** 3" Mudrat lift, custom bumper (by me) J&K skid plate, (first 18" 1 3/4 ") 2" catless exhaust tucked close as possible for ground clearance, currently P205/75 R14 Cooper Discoverer STT's (the "P" stands for pathetic 2 ply sidewalls ... j/k!! I'm just venting because I poped one yesterday being careless ... getting my 28/8.8/14 LT Super Swamper TSL's later this week only $45 each!!) on 14" pugs home-made cool air intake, edlebrock air filter, Hella high beam replacement lenses w/ 100w bulbs. These pics are old, will make some new ones in the snow to show off my new skid and TSL's!!

Official Weber thread for OffRoad.........
Thx for the info, but I think we are talking about a different part of the carb. There is a great exploded view of the carb on Carbsunlimited. The part I am talking about is directly under the airhorn (top half of carb ... I just learned it was called that myself reciently ) the primary and secondary barrels have a piece that slides in from the top. They are a tube held in the middle of the barrel with a small passage opened at the bottom that connects to the bowl through the wall of the barrel (this is where I believe the fuel is sucked out of the bowl by the venturi effect once the engine has turned over a few times to create the vacuume to suck out the fuel much like how you use a straw). I have air and fuel leaking where the venturi connects to the barrel.

Rule #1 ... Protect your sidewalls ... Rule #2 refer to Rule #1!!!
OMG!! I just went to Interco's site and they have 4 28/8.50 14LT with cosmetic issues for only $45 each!!! I will have to get a 5th that is full price I guess, so I won't have the same problem I have now again with a goofy spare :-p

Rule #1 ... Protect your sidewalls ... Rule #2 refer to Rule #1!!!
SCWEET!!! thx a ton!! I'm gonna hit Quality Supply first thing tomarrow!! I was thinking the TSL would be the way to go next, and I guess getting an extra inch in clearance can't be terribly bad ... and well maybe I shouldn't worry so much about tread life if I am gonna put holes in the sidewall so much should I put the spare on the rear so I have 2 of the same tire on the front? ... the spare is the same size and seems to be truly the same diameter and width of the STT's ...
-
Rule #1 ... Protect your sidewalls ... Rule #2 refer to Rule #1!!!
DOH!! looks like some Jeepers have already tried these (Super Sport HT ... apparently made by Kelly) tires and weren't terribly impressed with anything but the price http://jeeps-offroad.com/showthread.php?t=1651

Yep, you guessed it, I just sacrificed one P205/75 R14 Cooper Discoverer STT (you know the ones they don't make in a 14" anymore ) to the Ft. Missoula Tank Proving Grounds ... next time I will just drive in the deep rut! I didn't see that concrete footer of the sign pole with the jagged edges RIGHT where I drove my driver's side ft tire now I am looking for advice ... go cheap or get the toughest tire out there in a 14"?? I have decided to go ahead and trim out the fenders since I have alot of rust on the pass side in the rear, so lay it on me!! What's the baddest toughest tire (with in reason still worried about $$$) that still wears reasonably with mostly highway miles? I'm thinking some TSL's, but I don't know how many miles to expect to get out of these ... and I'm interested in a reasonably aggressive mudder ... no Liberators for me :-p If I go cheap I am thinking of doing the Walmart Mudders ... Supersport HT's ... these are only in 15" however, so I will have to convert to 15" pugs ... anyone tried these out yet? P.S. .... in my infinte wisdom, my spare is a Walmart cheapy, so now I have a All Season radial mixed in with my discoverers ... should I switch the miss-matched tire out to the rear for now? also, what are the chances of patching the side wall from the inside and using a tube on the current tire (for off-road use only ... not on the road)

Official Weber thread for OffRoad.........
great thread!! I did a quick search on this thread and came up empty, so plz bear with me my weber seems to work ok, but it has always hesitated ... someone just pointed out to me that the venturi's were loose ... secondary was loose, and the primary even more so!! I was told there should be some sort of O-ring between the venturi and the barrel of the carb ... I tried to find some but it's a very tight fit in there, and once it's in place the gap is such that the O-ring that bearly fit going in is loose once the venturi is seated in the barrel. Do I need a new set of venturi's or os there something I am missing? ****UP-DATE**** I noticed just today (sunday) that gas is puking out around the area where the venturi meets the barrel wall of the carb ... anyway to fix this? I'm toying with the idea of somehow using RTV to seal it .. just not sure how to do that and keep it from plugging the tube
