I got $2400 in june for my wrecked 88 GL-10 TurboWagon. I faxed copies of KBB, NADA and Edmunds, along with some local ads for plain old GLs, as there were no GL-10s for sale in my area. post or PM your zip code, along with info on your car, and I would be happy to help you hunt down the info you need. If it makes you feel any better, the first offer from the insurance company on my wagon was around $800 as well... After it was all said and done, I bought it back for $25.. took the motor and the 14 inch pugs with brand new tires and transplanted them to the car I'm driving now.

Why not just pull one of the tumblers from the doors and have a key made.. not terribly expensive and they are pretty easy to get out. -
help with intitial start up plz

you won't be able to time it without letting it idle I have never heard of not letting a fresh engine idle for the few hundred miles....First few minutes maybe, but not the first few hundred miles.. that would make driving it kinda suck too.. -
Subaru EJ20TT 14.2"L 31.5"H 21.7"H 27.6"L with turbos and intercooler 280hp JDM simply means Japanese domestic market. The stuff we get is USDM.. I'll let you puzzle over what that one means:D Good luck stuffing an twin turbo motor into a LHD car.. you might want to consider trying to find a postal issue legacy wagon for this motor.

Check your local stereo shops for adapters. I know when I bought the one for my wagon it came with an adapter plat for a brat as well.. I passed it on to Bratwerst.. maybe he has some pics of it installed?

'86 wagon turn signal woes
calebz replied to Russ Hill's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Bummer deal if its the switch.. you gatta take the steering wheel off to replace it.. kind of a pain.. But if the switch is makeing funny noises, or feels funny, thats the most likely culprit. -
I average about 320 per tank. Thats mixed freeway and city driving... And thats in a turbo car. Do a search for plugs(hint NGK), coils, Accell and you'll come up lots of good info previously discussed.

JW from the old board is Battle Wagon Medic on the current board.. don't think he has anything to do with this post though.....

Nice Score Rick! I need to move back up north.. I am starting to see the beauty of gen 1 stuff.. and there just isn't much of it down here. -
Way to go Fox! Sounds like you're on your way to a winner

I spoke to the head tech at the local soob dealership today. He didn't have the answers for me, so he called the subaru 'dealer tech support hotline'.. He was told by SOA that there is a difference in compression between the spfi and carbbed models, and that it is a function of the pistons. carbbed models are flat, spfi are slightly convex. Part numbers are as follows, I used model year 1987 for reference. Carbbed pistons- PN- 480057110 SPFI pistons - PN - 12006AA030

Chances are the dork put the belt on wrong. Its a noninterference engine, so there wouldn't be any damage simply because of the broken belt. if you are mechanically inclined, go buy a couple of new belts for it, search the old gen section of the board for the timing belt walkthrough and do it yourself.. its not hard if you can follow instructions(for some reason, shops can't follow instructions) However, if she broke an accessory belt and the car overheated.. you may have a blown headgasket or cracked head to deal with.

Resistor block location for blower motor

RR.. that pic was for an EA82 car.. thats why yours doesn't match.. -
Will, I don't want to argue or anything, but my 88 FSM lists the CR of a carbbed motor as 8.5:1.. not sure where you got that all NA EA82s are 9.5:1...

You can get a trip permit in WA for anything.. you just give them $25 and they give you a blank 3 day trip permit. You fill it out and stick in the back window of the car. On a side note.. In TX, a $25 trip permit is good for 30 days. -
I'm in Mckinney.. not too far away. PM me if you don't get it going.

Where in TX are you? .. there are a few of us here and there that could give you a hand..

$700 for all that stuff isn't bad for the dealer.. they wanted $500 just for the AC compressor for my 87 wagon... -
Shipping a Subaru - What do you think?
calebz replied to clantieri's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
WHen I moved about 6 months ago, the average price to haul a car from WA to TX was around $1000. So I sold or gave away all the cars except the turbowagon. Loaded all of our posessions on to a semi cargo trailer.. that turned out to be a touch cheaper than renting a Uhaul, plus I didn't have to drive it... then I drove the soob to TX.. PM me if you want more details -

One thing to consider when doing business on the board is the sellers prominence or regularity on the board. I have done business with quite a few people on the board and had some very satisfying experiences. The two people I have gotten the most stuff from are probably Qman and XSNRG(both have saved my butt at least once). My point being that when dealing with someone who is more of a regular on the board, your chances of getting taken decrease substantially. In fact, they are often very helpful when problems arise( like Mark making an extra 50-60 mile round trip to my house to bring me an intake manifold ). Someone that has a post count of 10 and whose presence on the board is limited to selling his car.. Well you are taking a risk equal or greater than buying from Auto Trader. I know this doesn't help much now, but perhaps it will help you or someone else in the future. Maybe its time to revive the list of good business people on the board.. One last note. I saw above that Electryc Monk PM'd you with some info on the Air suspension. He has 2 GL-10s with air suspension, and I believe his XT6 has it as well.. He really does know his stuff when it comes to air suspension...Timing on the other hand...(sorry steve.. had to throw that in there;) ) Good Luck, I hope he calls you back and straightens this out.
