  1. My 90 Loyale didn't have the tall console..At least I don't think it did.. XSNRG would know .. he has it now
  2. Damn I wanted to go this year. Last year I promised I wouldn't miss the next one.. who knew I would be in texas..
  3. My 88 had power seat belts, and the motors were in the center console, so it was 6 inches taller than my 87.. look for a GL-10 with power seat belts
  4. Right on! let us know how it comes out.. I'm interested in how much you can sqeeze out of a stock setup
  5. reasonable.. well.. they are $200+ new.. so its up to you. I paid a total of $40 with shipping for mine, and I consider that a good deal as far as year to year differences. there are more differences year to year in EA81 cars than in EA82 cars, and all I know about is EA82 cars, so I can't really answer your question very well
  6. We cover a large range.. from Austin, who just recently turned 21 to Corky, Rob and Ed who are.. well... older than me:D
  7. Thats not an unreasonable price . Factory service manuals are rarely cheap. Remember, you get what you pay for
  8. Keep checking eBay.. they pop up there.. I got mine from another board member, you might try putting up a post in the marketplace to let everyone know your searching.
  9. Take it back and demand another car that has been vandalized by the dealer. If they balk, file a complaint with SOA
  10. 1. No 2. 10-30 to 20-w50 depending on codition, teperatures in your are and such . tans takes 85-w90 3. timing belts.. if you don't know when they were last serviced, replace them 4. Nothing specific 5. Ebay is a good place to get service manuals. this board is too.. I got my 88 FSM from a board member for about $30 6. Yes, a D/R 5 speed will bolt right in, but its not a regular Transfer case.. you have to swap the tranny. they arent too hard to find, depending on where you are.. they came in EA82 cars from 85 to 88
  11. 25.3 according to the tire calculator
  12. Between the brokern PCS(provided its causing a vacuum leak) and the probable vacuum leak caused by the broken 4wd soleniod, That might be enough to make the car not start.
  13. Nope, Haven't messed with it.. wasn't sure waht it was, so I didn't want to mess anything up.
  14. Jon, the ones with the green nipples are the solenoids for shifting in and out of 4wd on a pushbutton manual tranny. they can be had froma junkyard fairly cheap, and from what I have seen, they don't generally go bad.. I'm sure someone on the board here has one they would send you cheap
  15. All my life around Tacoma.. then BOOM!.. Texas.. no mud, no trails.. No hills...no soobs.. its killin me:dead:
  16. Yup , it sure can.. someone else here recently had a defective new t-stat giving them some trouble... sounds like yours is stuck open maybe
  17. I'm running 185/75/14, which is just a touch bigger than the 185/80/13. They are mounted on Pug wheels, which are substantially heavier than the 13 inch soob steel wheels. I haven't noticed a drastic power loss. But then again, If I put on some 13 inch soob alloys with little tires on them, I might change my mind. those things don't weigh anything at all:D
  18. I believe that the Fuel pressure going in to the fuel rail is right around 35-37 PSI. My Factory Service Manuals are out on loan at the moment, so I can't look that up. The FPR in our cars isn't adjustable to my knowledge, but installing an adjustable FPR wouldn't be any problem I wouldn't think. However the fuel system is built with a return line, and if my understanding of its operation is correct, any fuel above the injectors pressure rating is sent back to the tank via that return line. If your idea holds true, and we can increase fuel pressure 20-40%, that could be very helpful at higher boost levels. Would running the injectors at/near maximum possible output all the time shorten their lifespan? Its possible that the pulse pressures are limited by the ECU, inwhich case an aftermarket fuel management system would be the way to go. Perhaps Skip could chime in with some info here. I know he has a better understanding of the fuel system than I do. How high is your boost? Are you running an Intercooler? Oh yeah, and welcome to the board
  19. Been wondering the same thing,, I asked a couple of months ago, but no one responded..I have an 88 factory service manual, but it doesn't say anything about that screw
  20. You can increase the fuel pressure to your injectors all you want.. Thats easily acomplished by removal of FPR and/or installation of a higher output pump. But the injectors themselves are limited to how much fuel they can spray with each pulse.. If your goal is to raise the amount of fuel your injectors are putting out, its time to hunt for larger injectors.. maybe injectors off an older Z-car?.. seems I heard somewhere that they might work. Are you running higher than stock boost?
  21. I think the point was to figure out a way that wasn't stupidly dangerous or dangerously stupid
  22. I had one of each side by side in my garage.. they were the same size.. just that one had all the HH crap attached to it and one didn't. and the HH crap can be removed..
  23. Steve beat me to suggesting a tank from a peugeot 505. They are fuel injected , so they have the return line. and they come mounted in the trunk against the back seat as steve said above. I can vouch for the fact that there's no worry about fumes.. my wife's car(besides my turbowagon) was a turbo pug 505 for the past 2 years or so. It would take a little doing, but it could be mounted safely in the rear of a wagon. Of course you would want to make some sort of box to go around it. The filler neck comes off the side, so depending on location, its conceivable that you could use the stock fuel door on your soob. In addition, its easy to find one of these tanks in tact in the wrecking yards. given their location, they don't rust, and the yard workers don't punch holes in them to drain them because most don't seem to know where they are.
  24. they will fit fine on a 4wd car.. I have 185/75/14 on mine.. theyre a touch bigger than the 185/80/13 and they don't rub
