  1. Try lubricating the assist spring on the clutch pedal.. not all EA82s have them though..not sure exactly what years do.. also, a worn clutch cable can make the pedal stiff.. so will a clutch fork that needs grease
  2. Here's an EA82T.. 1988 Note.. that 15 inch peugeot wheel in the back ground actually belongs to a peugeot!! Amazing isn't it?
  3. For your warning lights, I would check your alt first.. the symptoms you describe are indicative of an alternator on its way out.. as far as price goes, you will find that most of us here are cheapskates/dealhunters(not too hard when you are talking soobs) $500-$1200 depending on condition, how the car is equipped(auto or manual and stuff like that) and what the market in your area is like
  4. Yup.. it sure is possible.. the seals between the tranny and the diff are shot.. You say it was just rebuilt?.. get your money back, you got srewed
  5. Hey mark.. this is off topic, but I see you live in mcminville.. My brother and his family live there too.. what a cool little town. You play golf? they own riverwood golf course .. a little cool 9 hole course right outside of town
  6. the pre-oil numbers are right around the 10% variable range.. I wouldn't worry too much unless the engine is runningcrappy
  7. Perhaps some of the east coasters want to hook up with the rust free carcass?
  8. It basically involves swapping the whole wiring harness under/behind the dash.. doable, but not something I would take on.. I almost did this once, but some wise soul here on the board talked me out of it ..instead I got a turbowagon shell and put all my turbo stuff in that.. still driving it today! So, yes it can be done. And yes it is a lot of work. And yes it is a big pain in the rump roast
  9. Also check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifild by spraying carb cleaner around all the sealing surfaces.. if idle increaes, you found a leak.
  10. yup. you will have to swap computers and all the wiring that goes to it
  11. Don't know what it stands for. They're just NGK's.. I'm sure they are sold locally.. they are sold around the world.. and no they aren't sold under another name. Just NGK.. they are actually a quite common brand
  12. Damn Jerry! That is a good day. Right on!
  13. Just based on your description, its worth $900
  14. there is the display, which is where the clock goes on a non trip computer car. There is the control panel, which looks like this(although will be mounted next to the stereo in EA82s prior to 1988) And between those two components there is a box under the dash, behind the glove box.. just follow the wires from the control panel and you will find it.. it gathers info from various other components of the car.. Don't know much more than that
  15. pull your plug wires one by one and see if it makes a difference. If you pull one and the idle doesn't change, chances are that cylinder isn't firing.. but, like corky said, you probably blew a vacuum line
  16. To answer you question, No, your loyale does not have an LSD
  17. I wanna go.. Bar-B-Qing at Zap's is always fun..
  18. I tried to talk my wife into letting me drag that thing home.. she said "absolutely not!" I even offered to sell my wagon to do it.. she still said no
  19. Like WJM said, your first problem is normal.. My 87 does it too. I ran a bunch of extra grounds under the hood and the problem has gotten a lot better
  20. Most of us know that as well.. we have watched the progress of dennis' XT with the legacy turbo on it.
  21. Member count was 1580 or so last time I looked.. Not as good as the 5000 or so on the old board, but getting there:D
  22. I disagree that saab lost its uniqueness with the advent of the 99. I have had one 99, 8 900's and 2 9000's. All turbo. I have also had an ungodly amount of various american cars as well as a few japanese and other euro cars thrown in for flavor. Love them or hate them, they are (were) unique. As far as saab and soob not being asked if they wanted to play together. .. well in the case of saab, that is wholly appropriate, being a 100% GM owned company (for those that don't like that, just remember that they didn't have to sell to GM.. they could have just gone out of business). In the case of subaru, GM has to ask first. they don't own anything near a controlling percentage of the stock to go making arbitrary decisions about what is going to be done with FHI designs. I personally like the old 95 wagon style. The stock 65 HP out of the V4 isn't enough though. I have always wanted to get one and put an EA82T in it.. perhaps even an EJ motor. Before any pipes up and says I'm nuts, there is a guy in Oregon that has already put a soob motor in a saab sonnet.. so it can be done. And if you look at the way things are situated under the hood of a 95/96, you'll see that it is just asking for a flat 4
