  1. Yeah..I've seen one.. I'm the one that 'found' the one richie has.. shoulda kept my mouth shut and tried to sneak it hom epast my wife:D It is pretty cool
  2. My old 73 chevy truck does that. I actually like it.. its reaL handy sometimes. On the other hand, My 70 corolla did that too.. on hard left turns, the keys would come flying out of the ignition:rolleyes:
  3. Too cool.. I have been wondering if that swap would be beneficial. MY FSM doesn't have any XT info, but I can find the regular old GL info to post later.
  4. I have never seen an EA82 N/A with FT 4wd.. XT6 came with an available FT 4wd 5 spd.
  5. Hmm.. maybe I should have sold you my turbowagon after all.. SOA parts are always best.. you should get a price from them Free Bump
  6. Tex.. The piping for your IC.. is that PVC of the home depot variety? Looks great.
  7. Local dealership wanted nearly $40 for a clutch cable.. Ridiculous. Puyallup subaru only wanted $21.. so I had a clutch cable shipped 2400 miles jst so I wouldn't have to do business with thieves
  8. First question is.. why?.. is there something wrong with gaskets and bearings and such..? You got knocks and leaks and things? Or are you just a glutton for punishment trying to raise your level of subaru frustration back to the level of "The heavens opening up and doves flying out of your rump roast";)
  9. The "lights always on" thing is cool.. It was one of the unexpected pleasures I found in my subaru when I first started driving it.. I was spoiled by years of owning Saabs(which also shuts lights off with ignition) and I really didn't expect this with my cheapo soob.. Surprise! Yeah.. My 94 camry does that.. problem is though that if you open the door before you shut the key off, the light stay on and kill the battery.(I make my wife carry jumper cables everywhere now because of this discovery).. Toyota dealer says this is the way it was designed.. Personally, I like the Saab/Soob method better
  10. Hey guys .. theres one more thing.. Although I agree its probably a timing belt issue, first check to make sure the little screw that holds the rotor in place is still there.. they work themselves out occasionally
  11. Cutting up the red wagon?.. oohh.. you're killin me:mad: Have fun.. keep a few things off for later use..For example, fuel pumps for turbos are expensive.. Ok.. I am making assumptions here.. but you are talking about the wrecked red one right?
  12. It was... . .. . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Drumroll please... . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . Corky! (DR RX)
  13. Since all the old pics are gone.. Time for new Pics! Or theres this one http://usmb.net/albums/albuo11/bluehair.sized.jpg
  14. So which one goes to the lights for dimming hassey?
  15. Axles will swap. Diff is a different ratio. Auto is 3.70 Standard(non RX)D/R manual is 3.90
  16. Possible.. But CEL doesn't light up with key on/car off.. fuel pump isn't coming on either. Suggestion. On the drivers side, under the hood, right on top of the firewall,/under the windshield are 2 green connectors. connect them and turn the key on.. fuel pump and relay should audibly cycle off and on every 1.5 seconds.. if you hear that, you know the ECU is doing something, since the ECU controls that electrical pulse.
  17. Two words: Search Engine! Topic has been recently covered extensively EDIT: No.. and theres no such thing as a 'Standard Rim'.. there are some that are just a lot more easily available than 4x140
  18. As I said..I wondered .. past tense.. I wonder no longer thanks to the illumination you cast upon the subject:D
  19. Yes, the ECU controls the fuel pump. Generally the fusible links will be visibly broken if bad. A simple continuity check will verify that they are good however. I have a handful off good ones if you wanna come over and get them.
  20. All of the 80s cars I have had had donut spares.. but they were (are) 87(2)88 and even one 90
  21. The following info is based on the assumption that the car is fuel injected: First thing to check would be the fusible links.. little black box under the hood attached to the coolant recovery tank on the drivers inner fender wll between the battery and the strut tower. However, I am inclined to agree with your assesment of fried ECU, having recently experienced a startlingly similar situation. The ECU is located right above the drivers knees. Under the dash trim. Between the trim and the steering column. With the key on and engine off, the ecu should have a little flashing light in the front of it that displays a manufacturing date code. Here is a link to more info on reading soob error codes. However, if you dont get any flashes, the ECU is probably toast.. not terribly common, but it does happen
  22. Turn the voltmeter on.. touch the red lead to the wire you want to test.. touch the black lead to metal somewhere to ground it.. display should tell you what the voltage is.. cna't be more specific.. don't know what meter you are using
