  1. I actually waxed the black strips on the door. On my car, they're smooth. However the textured parts on the bumpers I did not wax, and yeah I was just very careful not to wax those I actually did a 3-step process. Used this stuff called safecut, and then Zymo's prep cleaner called HD-Cleanse, and then Zymol wax.
  2. I just rinsed off the engine to get the dust and stuff off. It hadn't gotten too dirty since I installed it.
  3. They are Hella Supertones horns The exhaust is a complete kit from CES Systems in Australia http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/ej22t/25/ www.cesracing.com.au It sounds really good. With a cat & resonator, it is not obnoxious at all.
  4. It is....however it was in/new several months back. Here's the pic log of everything http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/ej22t
  5. Zymol'd the legacy today here's some pics http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/zymol2/
  6. Hmm....that's weird. Are you using the battery directly at the speaker, or are you tapping into the wiring behind the head unit? If you're using the wiring behind the head unit, it sounds like some wiring is screwed up.
  7. Lawson, The older EJ22's do not have that hose. Or else I would have used that. So yeah, if you have that hose, use it....other wise use the PCV valve.
  8. What exactly did you do? Just replace speakers, install a new head unit, etc? Was the existing setup working properly?
  9. You're welcome to it. That's why I did the AWD & 5MT swap write-up.
  10. You may want to look at these pics. I've tried to label various sensors and stuff. http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/injectors There's a few more pics here http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/timingbelt/
  11. With a normally operating PCV valve you have to seal off the other end of the hose that you've put the seafoam in. i.e. put your hand over the other end. That will cause the PCV valve to open and suck in the seafoam.
  12. What's holding the inner and outer bearings together? The force provided by the axle being there, and clamped in place by the axle nut. Sure you could do what you say, but you will destroy the bearing, and possibly have the inner and outer bearings separate, and have your wheel along with the hub fall off and chunk up into your fender. Do what you want, but I as well as all the manuals I've read say do not put weight on the bearing unless the axle and axle nut is in place. Josh
  13. I have some wiring diagrams from my swap write-up. Whether the wiring is the same for overseas models....I don't know. http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/swap/electrical.html Take a look and see if you can use anything, and if things match up.
  14. That thing you replaced is the flex plate. Only MT's have a flywheel. Have you verified that the torque converter is spinning with the flex plate through that access hole in the engine bell housing?
  15. Sounds like you're on the right path for replacement of parts. I'm not sure what kind of power or mileage you can expect, since most of our members are US-based. I do think there are some UK based subaru boards if you search around the net. As for upgrades, a fair amount of the goodies from the impreza line is interchangable.
  16. Are you looking to convert the car from FWD to AWD? I think the wiring is there, however you could use an ohm meter and wiring diagram to verify connectivity between the ecu connectors & transmission plug.
  17. The axles support the bearing, so once they are removed, the car really won't support itself on the wheels through just the bearing. The axle stub portion at least needs to be in there.
  18. You should use the PCV valve because the brake booster line only really gets one cylinder. Also, you really shouldn't have gotten rid of that black goo. It helps keep carbon from building up.
  19. It may work. I really don't know the length of the older gen cars. On the legacies, the impreza exhaust are a little short. However you can probably make it work.
  20. You could try replacing the coolant temp sensor Have you checked the ECU for any codes?
