  1. Pretty hard to bend cast aluminum. But the oil pan is steel and its a common problem when overtightened. Make sure you check out the cam seals like I suggested. Does the oil pressure drop at idle? If not, the dented pan could be blocking the PU tube like Frank said.
  2. Glad to hear she went to a board member. Still in the family, kind of.
  3. If it hasnt been sitting for a long time (especially on grass) and not all moldy inside, then the guy probably isnt going to go for a lowball price. Talk to him and tell him you have wanted one for a long time, etc. Get more info on the mechanicals, has it ever overheated, etc? EA82 turbo's are plentiful around these parts, but I suspect more than that is wrong with it.
  4. The top right gasket is for any EA82 intake manifold(should be 2 of them). The 2 bottom gaskets look like they are for a spider intake. The other 3 I dont recognize.
  5. Most of mine here....http://www.cardomain.com/id/Turbone Top RX. No ratings on the others yet.
  6. Install a new fuel filter and fresh gas? At least make sure your getting gas to the throttle body if you have spark.
  7. Check out this web site, very informative and better relates to your TDI. http://europeancar.automotive.com/95784/epcp-0803-turbo-modifications/index.html
  8. Ok, I did a search and see Subaru3 posted about it, back in 06. I missed it, but the article just came out in 09.
  9. This sold on Ebay back in 04, not sure if it was a board member that bought it or not. But heres the story from the Drive magazine article. http://www.drive.subaru.com/Win09/Win09_BRAT.htm
  10. The screw fell out of mine less than a block from my house. Like a fool I sat there for 15min trying to start it. When I opened my hood, the turbo was glowing bright red. It took me another 1/2hr of investigating to find the problem.
  11. Yeah, you did it wrong. This is how its done... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50768
  12. Did he replace the disty cap and rotor? It sure sounds like the rotor isnt spinning with the shaft. Ask me how I know this
  13. Be careful with the pushbutton starter switches. They cannot handle long tern use. Ask Seahag1979 about it. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=778832&postcount=22
  14. It would probably be a real good idea to have a fuel pump switch in the car close to you. You know, just in case.
  15. They wont see it. In a XT theres room between the bumper and radiator for the gas can to fit. With the hood closed, theres nothing to see.
  16. Check all the fuses in the cab. A couple of those are for the ign relays.
  17. ^^Correct. I was talking about the the other end, where the MAF is connected. Alot of times this clamp is loosened to get the airbox off so the airfilter can be replaced.
  18. If he hasnt messed with the timing, theres a good chance the hose clamp is loose on the airbox. I would check them all to be sure.
  19. Well, heres another one you need to be on the lookout for in Spokane. A 92 SVX Pearlie. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=48699
  20. The 12lbs of boost, fall on your face cut :-\ If you had a problem with a OEM t-stat, a aftermarket one might fail even quicker.
  21. I dont think theres a rev limiter, just the fuel cut. And I have a OEM t-stat ready to go in, the current OEM is just over a year old.
  22. I have taken mine to 7.5K numerous times. Not often, but I know I can if needed. http://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll95/Turbone/My%20RX/?action=view&current=81048580.flv And with the WRX IC, hood scoop, 2 row rad and spider intake, my engine runs very cold. It has to idle for 15min to get up to 180deg. When I get on the road, it drops to 145deg and stays there.
  23. Looks like you got out of there just in time. Not good to be stuck up there after dark. I had to dig myself out once. The snow was very deep and soft if you got of the hard, compact stuff.
  24. Spider intake with WRX IC and recirc valve. Still need to hook the recirc valve up. Seeing how yours is a XT, application will be different. You may have to go with a front mount or a smaller unit placed off to the side.
