The spring rate is whats different between the RX and GL, I believe. As for the RS, I didnt even look for those. Not sure if they would be the same as a RX or not.

These are all I could find. You need to re-use your springs and tophat. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KYB-234047-Strut-Dr-Side-Frnt-85-86-Subaru-DL-GL-Loyale_W0QQitemZ290299226233QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item290299226233&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1171|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?Ntt=Struts&N=1719%2011747%204294965079

All talk......no pics :-\

Get new tune up stuff, make sure you only use NGK plugs. Then check the timing. Make sure before you check, to connect the green plug under the dash/steering column. Then disconnect when done. Timing should be 25deg/800rpm.

Murphy is Sick! Starts But Won't Run.

What kind of gas have you been using? Did you recently fill with cheap stuff? And how full is the tank? -
Carb'd non-turbo EA82 in an RX?
Turbone replied to wentz912's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Or go to one of the numerous wrecking yards here in the PNW and find a used turbo, -
You found nothing...because there is none! If you want to do a search (better than me typing a couple of pages), try punching in EA82T in the Retrofit forum. There are numerous threads about doing mods to that engine, the pro's and con's.......mostly the con's. Personally, I'm one of the few that has had good luck on my current engine. But its mainly because its newer and I havent pushed it to the limit. 3 main factors are important.... Reliability Cost Fun Good luck and feel free to ask if you dont know.

GL10 AWD automatic turbo wagon
Turbone replied to tmonkey51's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Sorry, its been a while since I've messed with one. Its all controlled by the TCU. If you do the swap, you will need the TCU/harness from the swapped tranny (if you upgrade). If its a 3.9 tranny, you will also need to swap out the rear diff to match. Theres quite a few 3.9's out there, so that not a problem finding one. A quick, but not exact way to find out if the transfer clutch is any good is to look at the tires. If they are mismatched in size at all, expect problems with it. If you can get under the hood and inspect it better, I would look for signs of overheating. Oil in the water, etc. It is, after all, a EA82T. -
GL10 AWD automatic turbo wagon

Its probably a late 87 and up. Thats when they started with the 4EAT AWD tranny. It could just be the governor, or it could be totally fubared. Dont know of to many 4EAT's that had bad gov's in them, so its not promising. -
Dang, it was emailed to me....didnt require anything for me. I'll rehost it and post the link again. Cant host it, its a Doc. It only effects Evans Creek anyways, so no one from outside the area has to worry. Forwarded the email to Qman.

1988 Gl what engine did it have?
Turbone replied to Markuss's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No, the EA81T would be a horrible engine to put in it. Not to mention all the BS trying to get it hooked up. It should be a SPFI EA82. -
No, they dont. I cant imagine why someone would install a cooler of such size either. It could be a oil cooler, but it never had one stock. Maybe the OP can provide a pic of it?

I havent had time yet to go over the whole list of stuff, but it looks like things will be changing up there for sure. And its starting this year. https://docs.google.com/gview?a=v&attid=0.1&thid=12026f45dc7f9422&mt=application%2Fpdf

That info is in the first post.

No, not enough reason. But when it grenades on you in a few hundred miles, then it will be. I really hope it doesnt, but you all know the bad luck I've had with used EA82T's :-\

Its a XT6. The belt tensioner is totally different than the EA stuff. The bolt that holds the pulley needs to be loosened, then you can start backing the adjusting nut out.

Arf arf And thanks for donating.

The idle problem could be 2 things. The IAC or the temp sensor. The IAC is a silver cylinder thats hooked up to the intake inlet hose and manifold. This can be cleaned, but has to be removed and disassembled. The temp sensor is real close to the thermostat housing and gets corroded easily. The wires also have a tendency to harden up and get brittle. Most of us have cut the wires back and made a new connection to the sensor. And if you havent already registered, you need to at - http://subaruxt.com/forum/index.php

Start by reading these threads. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=94276&highlight=tick+death http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=87748&highlight=tick+death http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=87315&highlight=tick+death http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=83795&highlight=tick+death There is 3 pages of info on this one problem. -
Why bother screwing around with new glass? There tons of whole mirrors in the wrecking yards. I probably have several in a box.

Any information on Dragon Run this year.
Turbone replied to dragonfire's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
For which group? You need to be more specific (and post in the correct forum). The XT/XT6/SVX group is set to go in June 26th-27th. http://subaruxt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10207&sid=a10d8fa35ad6890caeafd1724ced6fba As far as I know, theres no other Old School meet going to the Dragon. There is a New Gen meet that usually goes, but I have no clue about that. Look it up on Nasioc if your interested in that. Theres also local groups that go. -
Welcome to the Board! There is a dedicated site for the XT (or Alcyone) fans. Its http://subaruxt.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=230f82ae140967de3052a23bb0d3c6ef It does sound like the alternator is having issues tho. If you have a meter, I would check the output on it. Oh yeah, when you register there, make sure you post pics
