  1. Ahhhh, somebody as stubborn and hardheaded as me :-p I have yet to swap any of my cars to a EJ. And I know my RX could give you EJ'd guys a good run Do it right and keep it simple and it will work.
  2. Actually, its not the heads - its the pistons. The turbo pistons are dished, which decreases the comp.
  3. You would also need the engine x-member, its cutout for the up-pipe. Also the complete engine harness and maybe the rest too, because they changed wiring in 87. And just so you know.......there have been a few people that have made high compression turbo engines. This engine model is fragile and very temperamental. And they didnt last very long.
  4. Could be the e-brake on that side is not releasing all the way. Happens when it gets real cold out.
  5. Do you have the clutch plate lined up correctly? Did you use the alignment tool? I like to leave my pressure plate bolts a little loose so the clutch can move. This way if its a little off, it will move that final mm and the shaft will go in. Once you have the tranny bolted up, just go thru the starter hole and tighten up the bolts. Try rotating the engine from the crank pulley too.

  7. Find a tranny from a 94 or newer, they didnt have the problems of the earlier years. Or swap to a 5spd.
  8. I believe it was around $60, but I paid cash so it could be less. Ed, they might be able to find the leak too.
  9. Ed, PIA can recharge the R12 for you. They refilled the system on my XT6 when I installed a new compressor. Real cheap too.
  10. Man, cabin fever is running rampant around here lately
  11. Ummm, I'm calling BS on that one. Pics, or it never happened
  12. I 2nd this. Lots of camping area. Lots of trails. Place for Rally X. Been there enough times it feels like home :-p
  13. I hope they got their seat belts on
  14. Either way, its not going to match up. But you can convert the 3.9 open to a 3.9 LSD using the 3.7 LSD.
  15. Heres my old Brat without the bumper.
  16. I would get the first one.
  17. Do yoou have another ECU you could throw in there to check it? And Presslab had a electronic design to fool the MAF for the fuel cut.
  18. I would totally miss the Show to do that........I'm jealous
  19. Different bolt pattern mostly. I have a couple of stock EA82Turbo's.
  20. Ohhhhh sure, just dump it on me eh? :-p Btw, I think I only have about 4 of those OH, and I got it welded up today. Should get it installed sometime this week, when the rain lets off a little.
  21. I just heard a report on King 5 news tonight about bad gas in WA. So far this year, they already have 16 complaints compared to 50 last year. It has to do with the ethanol blend. http://www.king5.com/localnews/stories/NW_022209WAB-bad-gasoline-SW.3fb46030.html I was a victim of this last month in my RX and I know of someone else whose car is sitting right no because of it. Just what you need, another POS project!
  22. Thats a standard cross over pipe for a EA82T. Its off my 89 RX. Except that it has a TD04 flange welded to it. I appreciate all the offers for another one. But c'mon gang, you should know me better than that by now. How many of these engines have been in my possession in the last several years? I just was hoping that someone might have a nice mandrel bent or TWE one laying around that they might want to part with :-p
