It doesnt matter where you come from. When you know better to ask such a lame question about running a PS rack without fluid, its just common sense that it will ruin the rack. Once you remove the lines, every time you turn the wheel more fluid gets pumped out of the rack. But hey, its your car

Well, theres 2 ends to the cable (duh). One end goes to the top of the tranny and the other is on the back of the cluster. You need to pull the cluster to get to the cable.

Shouldnt be rings with only 32K on it. I say do a tune up and adjust the carb, then see how it runs.

Just to clarify about the proper marks. These would not be the timing marks. The marks you want are just about 1/8 turn CCW to the timing marks. Line up the middle mark to the pointer and then set the drivers side cam mark to the 12 o'clock position. Once the belt is installed, rotate the crank pulley until the drivers side cam mark is at 6 o'clock. Then make sure the passenger side cam is at 12 o'clock and install that belt. Should be good to go then, simple enough?

It might be the Throttle Position Sensor. Its on the side of the Throttle Body and you will see a wiring connector to it. Remove it and see if the contacts are corroded. Clean them if they are. To adjust one is a beotch, you will need the FSM.

Throw the EA81 Turbo away and get the EA82 Turbo/Downpipe/X-Over pipe(header). All this is pretty much a bolt up deal, altho the header bolts might be reversed. You will need to remove the studs and swap them over to the other holes. The water cooling lines might be a hassle too, seeing how yours was never upgraded by the dealer. You need to tap into the heater return hose (I think) and route a return line also.
