The compressor maintains a pressure of 109 to 137psi in the tank. The air shocks usually have around 120psi in them. I dont understand your 2nd question

Start with a fresh battery, change the fuel filter(s). This should help it start and idle a little better, then adjust the timing. A complete tune-up is highly recommended also.

Skip, your right about the switch. Didnt pay close enough attention to which speed it was working at. About the PS pump. You might be able to flush out the old fluid and replace with the correct stuff. Considering how much it cost for fluid or replacing the pump, I would try this fix first.
