  1. I'll try and get a pic of the "setup" on Hatchet this weekend. Its not your everyday washer
  2. If I recall, you supplied the parts? He would have assumed you had bought the correct parts. But on the other hand, when he installed the water pump he should have been able to tell that the pulleys did not line up and then should have said something.
  3. Wow, deja vue all over agian Wish we had snow we had to dig out of :-\
  4. 86 Turbo Wagon - Cowl 87 Turbo Wagon - Cowl 89 RX - Hood 89 XT6 - Cowl
  5. Well, when you put in a 30amp fuse and saw smoke come from the steering column, I would say you located the problem. Theres obviously a short in there and you might need to replace the horn or at least find out why its shorted. There should be a connector plug for the horn, disconnect it and then try another fuse (the right amperage). You can always install a different horn button. No FSM needed here, just common sense.
  6. I believe its the flasher unit itself he's looking for. Its above the fuse panel, towards the firewall and is cylindrical/silver or square/black.
  7. Do what Dustyrider suggests, CCR is the way to go for a rebuilt. It might cost less if you go with the shortblock (no intake). Miles, 3hrs timing belt change with covers on
  8. If we go to Evans Creek, you can park it at my place, its on the way. See my new ride Jared?

Qman used the PVC material for his snorkel on his old hatch, pretty much how you want to route it. I dont hink he had any problems with restrictive airflow and it worked quite well. Wish I could find the pics I had of it :-\
  10. Alot of times, when the body is lifted, theres alot of room between the body and suspension. This could allow for a bigger tank.
  11. The 4wd tank has a depression in it for the rear diff. I think its a few gallons more, dont have a manual in my lap some folks.
  12. Before and after pics of my almost perfect, almost 300K Hatch. I still get a tear in my eye when I look at the pics
  13. The tanks are different, but with your lift you might be able to do it without problems. Or you could get a EA81 tank from a 2wd car. 85sub4wd, I wouldnt put to much faith in your Haynes manual. They have been known to be wrong, on quite a few occasions.
  14. Pic of the skid plate and underneath. I'm thinking of adding more.
  15. Probably because its a common occurance
  16. Your fingers are probably going to fall off The older I get , the less time I spend out in the cold working. Cant wait to get the garage built
  17. Theres only 4 bolts that hold the seat down. 5min and its out. Where the lever goes back on the outside rail, it has a square pin that fits into dogs on the rail. Its most likely tweaked or dirty. There is also a spring from the rear/bottom of the seat, to the front hump on the floor. This is supposed to bring the seat forward automatically when you pull the seat back lever. You need to release the spring from the floor when you remove the seat.
  18. Not all EA82 4wd trannies are 5 spd. There are 2 types of AT's, the 3AT and the 4EAT.
  19. Check all grounds related to the ignition circuit. Also under the steering column/under dash cover on the right side, is the ign plug/connector. Its usually pink, this sometimes gets hot and will melt the plug, causing a bad connection.
  20. Yes, this is the car in question. She ran for a little while after this but then the electrical(and engine) went to Davy Jones Locker
  21. All I can remember is Jamie Lee Curtis doing her bedroom dance
  22. Count me in, I'll do what ever it takes
  23. I had a 82 Hatch that was just ready to turn over 300K when I got t-boned. I had replaced the engine with another used one about 15k prior to that. The car was like new and the original owner made yearly trips to Whistler, Aspen and a couple other Ski digs.
  24. Might get a better responce if you do this thru PM's
