  1. And the reason you dont have a 4th speed on the fan is because the heater resistor block has a broken coil. It located under the heater fan, passenger side and has 3 screws holding it. Theres a harness connection on it also. You might be able to find a good one in a wrecking yard, or ask in the Marketplace here. Most 85 to 90 models work.
  2. Is there water in the oil? That should tell you if its a HG or not.
  3. This is a Grant wheel on my 86 Hatch. I didnt put it on, so I dont know much about it.
  4. A mother and daughter both bought 85 GL wagons. One I had bought for $10 and the other the Mom bought for $200.

  10. Welcome to our (strange) world! Lots of us in Pierce Co, will be having a get together at Evans Creek in a few weeks. Theres also lots of Soobs for sale on craigslist.com, some in your area
  11. So what your saying is, you want pics of the engine and tranny outside of the car?
  12. Then why not just drop a EA82T in it?
  13. I agree with John, this could still be a timing issue. You said it backfires thru the carb, this is a sure sign of bad timing. Might want to check those belts again.
  14. Geez, and I thought I lived in the sticks You live in the middle of Puget Sound!
  15. Over here the 83 DL had a EA81 from the factory. Was the EA82 in yours a retrofit?
  16. If you pull the engine and tranny as a unit, you wont have to much work under the car. Just to remove the tranny x-member and linkage. You might want to remove the engine/tranny in the car your putting the lift in first. Once they are out, go ahead with the removal of the other engine/tranny pull.
  17. Great pic! And the STI Brat is a looker. But isnt that a Mitsu in the bottom center?
  18. Some of us have done AT to MT swaps and its no piece of cake. You need to install another pedal on the assembly box. Need to change the rear end to match ratios. Need to change tranny mounts and any other mounting needed. You also need to defeat the AT elec lock out switch. Now, if your a ambitious person and want that MT tranny real bad, go for it. Just my .02
  19. But it wil get a little rusty I wish I could remember everything I knew and lernt
  20. Sounds like the thermostat is sticking. Make sure you replace it with OEM, all others suck and dont last. 180deg is the recommended temp.
