  1. Clean all the grounds, engine bay and under the dash.
  2. Yes, you will need to use the EA82 flywheel and pressure plate also. But kiss your tranny byebye. I'm not saying it couldnt handle it(well, maybe just a little), but your 4spd is a older tranny with (probably) lots of miles on it. And with the turbo in it, its just going to fry clutches. Not to mention putting a EA82T in a EA81 is a ryoal PITA to boot. Do you have any idea of what it takes to do this conversion? Oh, and welcome to the Board
  3. If its a Gen2 it should be in front of the right rear wheel. Arc, that was just plain lame :-\
  4. Give the engine a bath and see if you can pin down the location better. Havent seen to many disty o-ring leaks, it might be the valve cover.
  5. I wouldnt put a block lift on any rusty car. Asking for trouble there. But a set of 14" or 15" Pugs with some swampers on them, then you will have some lift.
  6. Its a cheap part to replace (just dont buy an Accel), and will certainly improve runability. If it still acts up then the disty is going, but this usually goes out completely-not off and on. Thanks NW
  7. Replace the coil. Trust me on this one.
  8. Let us know how it "re-acts" to this mod. Interested in how well it handles on street and track.
  9. Check the oil to see if theres coolant in it. If not, I think its just condensation. Give it a oil change and new plugs and see how it runs for a while ( a few hours). Did you drive it and park it in the garage when you moved?
  10. Its a clone, except for the tranny. What other goodies are on it?
  11. This is normal for a blown HG. If left like this for a while it will corrode several of the bolts. Just make sure you clean the up real good and run one in all the holes to clean them out. Use some neversieze on the bolts when you install the heads.
  12. Yup, believe it or not, thats what they call it. Remove it and take it to the parts store, they should be able to match it. I bought one at the stealership, and it cost big $$$$$
  13. What I meant was, that Corky's original question was- When the pics were of the rear brakes .
  14. Change the oil and run the engine for a short time. See if theres coolant in the oil again.
  15. On Corky's e-brake question, those are the rear calipers in the pics, right?
  16. If the engine was turned over with no sparkplugs in, any fluids that might have been in there should be gone. If you still get high readings on that cyl them maybe theres a problem with the valves. You may need to pull the valve cover to see if they are working correctly, that is if every other option is exhausted. But I would do that before pulling the head. There still has to be a reason there was H2O in the crankcase, which may be a gasket problem.
  17. Was he wondering why you were laughing? Edit...I just noticed the lic plate. It should read UREA
  18. Yes, thats true. I got one tested last week and it was 2500rpm's. Did you take the car back to the place your first got it tested at?
  19. I'll keep my eyes open for that hatch In the meantime, dont tear that rig apart yet.
  20. Snow at 3500ft here in the passes Cant wait for more, at sea level
  21. Hey, no matter how your read it....its still nasty
  22. If the guys plan on going to Rieter next weekend, thats just down the road from you on Hwy 2.
  23. Shouldnt hurt taking them off, just dont use it to put them back on.
