  1. Yeah, Chux and ShawnW do it. I think GD does as well, but not positive.
  2. Its not easy stuffing all that wiring into all the nooks and crannies. I know theres a couple of threads in Retrofitting that explains a lot of the harness stripping.
  3. Uh, they are not junk. They work fine and I havent heard of any problems with them even after being used for 20+ years. If they leak, its because they are 20+ years old. And they actually spool up faster. Now, lets hear about all the problems about putting a TD04 on a EA82T........
  4. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=121646 He's in the PNW too. I think theres a few others, but I cant recall them atm.
  5. Do you have a web site? Do you have a catalog? Do you have experience with Old Gen and New Gen Subaru's?
  6. Mounting flanges are different. Can be done, just need to do some cutting and welding. I have a TD04 on my EJ22T.
  7. Ok, we need to tone down the political intensity of this or unfortunately it will get locked. As for the link from the OP, thanks. I know where I can get good fuel now fairly close.
  8. Well, lets think about a date then. Memorial weekend is.........ugh. Week before or week after is better.
  9. The EJ22T has 160bhp and 180tq. The EJ20 turbo's have 227bhp and 217tq. I have a EJ22T in my 89 RX and its running quite well.
  10. Comes in a couple of different sizes in a red bottle. Not familiar with BG, so I cant claim it to be the same.
  11. Yeah, I forgot you cant link to search results. Just do a search in the Retrofit Forum for EJ22 wiring harness.
  12. Sorry about my last reply I wasnt aware that brake cleaner was available like that. Part of the benefit is having some pressure behind the chemical (for me). Its nice to blast out gunk in hard to reach places. I used Simple Green several times. Its a good product, but the $ adds up quick if you use a lot.
  13. Thats one quick car! If you havent yet, would you mind posting up some pics of the build etc?
  14. Shawn is correct, you will need to keep some of the EA wiring harness. Not much of it, but some.
  15. Engine Brite from Gunk. Spray on, use a brush to get the caked on stuff loose. Then hose off. I also use a LOT of brake cleaner. I've probably gone thru a half dozen cases (or more) in the last couple of years. Theres a couple of different sizes of hoses, just take some pieces with you to the parts store.
  16. There should be a write up in the Retrofit Forum, I'll see if I can find the thread. You'll be spending a lot of time there, so it will be good to do some searching/reading for sure. Another alternative to a swap is the EJ22T (much better than the slow 2.2) Ask me how I know!
  17. Much better, thank you. In your first thread you said you paid $2500 for this?
  18. Please downsize your pics, or I will have to delete them. I have a 22in wide screen and it want big enough.

  19. I learned long ago that short shifting in any car saves fuel. As long as you dont bog the engine with to low a rpm you should see a increase in mpg. If race car drivers can do it, so can we
  20. What he said ^^^ You have a lot of work to do all that, suspension/brakes the hardest part. Your worst idea is swapping in a 84 digidash. They rarely work long or correctly in the cars they were designed for, let alone from a swap.
  21. Gas probably wont come down for a long time, if ever. So instead of letting that engine sit there and collect dust, why not sell it? I'm looking for another EJ22T, hint hint.
  22. The OP has a right to do what ever he wants to do with his car. All of you that think its a shame, get over it. When I sold my first lifted hatch to a local he drove the snot out of it, then decided to go straight axle. I didnt *************** about it, it wasnt my car anymore. The job never got finished, he tried selling it but no one would buy it. It ended up going to the scrapper. Now THAT was a shame, but I still didnt *************** (too much). Around here the members prefer to see the actual build going on, then pics and info when its complete. Everything leading up to that is just talk. So I'm going to lock this thread. When Kody gets back and picks up his new ride, he can let us know by posting pics of the car (dont forget parts list).
  23. I can vouch for Russ's work. He did my alignment after I did the 5 lug swap on my RX and it was spot on. He also fixed my rear alignment issue. If you want it done right, see Russ. Btw, I need a re-align after doing my coil overs.
  24. GL's dont come with a EJ22, you must mean Legacy.
