  1. Wire up the speakers separate, but remember they have a common ground for front and rear. You wont get 4ch separation unless you run new wire to the speakers. If you have a voltage meter, find a switched hot and a constant hot, they should be in the stock harness. If not, run one from the fuse box (switched) and the battery (constant). If you run a constant from the battery put a in-line fuse in it.
  2. I think the connection from the Subaru harness to the metra is messed up. Heres a radio harness diagram from a 86, it shouldnt be to much different. The green is constant power and yellow is switched.
  3. If I was going to spend that kind of money I would just buy a Walbro. Just about any in-line fuel pump will work, look for cheaper brands or a junk yard.
  4. ShawnW from Retroroo might be able to help. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=116331
  5. They need to be turned clockwise into the caliper. You can buy a tool at the parts store or get a kit from a better supplier. I use the kit ans it a breeze. It also sounds like the caliper is sticking. When you have the caliper seperated put some grease on the pi.
  6. Ah ok, I just looked on the map and they are miles apart.
  7. Maybe this way custom axles wont have to be made, hmmm? Russ, why not come over and take pics etc?
  8. The Justy is closest to what they drive in Japan. Its small, cheap on gas and the cargo space is decent for its size. It was the smallest car (at the time) that FHI could import into the US and be licensed for the road. If your looking for a Justy forum, here you go. http://subarujusty.proboards.com/index.cgi
  9. Isnt 8 Mile and Icicle Creek where the fires were last year?
  10. I have a door from a Hatch. And I like this idea, I cant count how many corner lights I've broken on my Hatch.
  11. Yeah, but it was the wrong color for you.

Really? Well, what fun is that? :-p I'm getting to the age now where this is more my style But I cant drive that far with a broken axle either. Snap, I just remembered theres the Bell-Kirk BBQ on the 16th. I have to get the fiancée's car aligned by Russ.
  13. Front diff failure IS common in this year/make - ask me how I know. $50 for a replacement is good, but its a pita to change. The A/T more so than a 5spd (what do you have?). If you can find another trans, it would be much easier to swap the whole unit. But a turbo trans is getting hard to find.

My Hatch isnt quite ready. Need to replace a axle and do a bunch of maintenance :-\
  15. No, its not owned by a board member. It is close to me, but I have yet to see it. Theres pics of it in Tex's original for sale thread here.
  16. I dont think any of the stuff mentioned for the For Sale forum will work. Mostly because if people find it a pita or dont want to donate, they will go someplace else to sell. You know that most of us are cheap and want something for nothing. There has to be a better way to increase donations and get a kitty growing.
  17. I can attest to Mitsu belts being good quality. My gf's 2000 Mitsu Galant had the original timing belt on it with 168K I just changed it about 3 weeks ago
  18. There was still a lot of good parts on that :-\ Looks like the new owners are going to be recycling stuff thru a lot faster now.
  19. Richie and his Dad do a pretty good job also, with 2 shops in the PDX area. http://www.fixmysuby.com/
  20. You can read my thread about the swap I did, plus theres other info in that forum about the EA82T. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=110912 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=88249&highlight=EA82T
  21. If you're having them replaced that soon, I wouldnt worry about it. You already have grease all over, so if its still slinging you'll just have a little more to clean up. Anything wrapped around the boot is liable to get wrapped around a bunch of other stuff.
  22. Actually, the lug pattern is 4x140. This size makes it very difficult to find aftermarket wheels, ie - impossible. Heres the wheels page that will help some. http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/wheels/wheels.html
  23. That could be one of the rare ones with a RX vin #'s. If you have questions about this model/engine, feel free to PM me. Also take to heart, there are a lot of people here that will tell you to swap the engine out asap. Go to the Retrofit forum and do a search for EA82T, that should give you a good start.
