Rims are mounted (come take a look)

Featured Replies

Had to rob the lugnuts from my lifted wagon. I figure, the next time it gets moved is to get dismantled, so leaving it sit on Subaru Lug nuts shouldnt do much harm.

After I mounted them, i took the car for a ride. Had to get it washed cause the snow trip left it quite dirty, and after the bath I decided to take the car for a spin.

Luckily I had my camera in the car :brow:

Here are some teasers. You can see the rest of the images here:http://usmb.net/gallery/album306

They seem to ride alot nicer than the 185/70R13's that were on the car before. The car also seems alittle more stable at high speeds, but the front end is starting to float alittle. Might be time to get an alignment.

HAWT. Never seemed to notice anything but stuck and stable at high speeds with my EA82 cars...

Spectacular... one of the nicest RXs I've see. Great location for the pics, with the right angle you could get a great "walk on water" shot.

P.S. did you get your feet wet?

  • Author

I did get my shoes wet, but wasnt deep enough to get my feet wet. I was thinking of setting the camera on MOvie mode and put it on the ground, then shoot myself driving through the water back to shore. That section is very shallow, ive been there before with other cars... and have gotten the "walk on water" shot.

lookin good. as for the stability at speed are you shure its not just the wider tires tracking funny on our wonderfull california roads? my new tires do that a little bit. espically in that groovy road surface you guys use up there by Sac. the front end was in real good shape when I had the car. but then again Its been a little while.

still miss that little car.:(

the next time it gets moved is to get dismantled

HOLD ON, What???

btw, the RX looks awesome!

The lifted wagon will live on in Brat form. It will be dismantled when I have a brat to put the lift on.

I saw a decent condition BRAT parked at Norm's today, said it runs great. Gen2, color was IIRC, that yellowish-tan. Topper included. Some rust.

Brian,

You RX looks great with the new shoes on. I've been pondering whether to go to a larger size. I have the 185/70R13s you speak of. The highway driving does get a little nervous at high speeds. I wasn't sure if it was just the width of the tread (thinking 205s would be better), the wheel size of 13 or both. It's interesting that you'd mention this. Makes me wonder!

205/50/r15 works just fine for me. I love the handling I now have. not so scarry in the hills like before. no more 13s.

Why am I doing this--> :slobber:

That RX is way sick. Are those rims 15s or 14s. Really scnazzy.

They're 15" rims. I have a set of 14" i was thinking of putting snowtires on to use for rally (or get rally tires to use on snow).

The 195's i have on the car are wide enough for my liking. I was originally planning on getting 205/50's but the tire shop didnt have any in stock.

The 195/50's are .5" smaller than 185/70R13's i had on it before, and I can tell the difference. Seems the car is sitting alittle lower, and as soon as I find a 2WD XT the car will sit even lower than it is now.

Oh, and while swapping the rear tires... i noticed my RX has KYB GR2's in the rear :) Thanks russ.

Looks great, however I think your leaving your self wide open for some "Photo Shop Fun" with your car posed like that

About to do the signature update soon. Gotta get rid of that old pic of the RX.

Not much left to photoshop now :) The car is almost 100% the way I want it. Just needs some XT front struts, and new RX decals and Im set.
