  1. Year-end standing (preliminary) for the ORG rallycross series: http://www.oregonrally.com/files/2009%20Points%20(vertical).pdf Congrats to eurowrx for his 1st in M4 class and cdwdfw for his 3rd in PA. I managed a 5th in PA. Sorry if I didn't mention anyone else, I've got to study the results more closely.
  2. I guess the results are in the order of finish; confusing when a grand total isn't given. But it looks like congrats are in for XSNRG for his first place finish. Nice to see Eklund finish again; 2nd overall, not too shabby.
  3. Only a small portion of this is Subaru related, but I think it could be useful. Only a small portion of this applies to Subaru, but I think it’s useful: http://www.alt-str.com/download/Alternator-Catalog_Reference.pdf Here’s the cross reference list to the above alternators: http://www.alt-str.com/download/Alternator-Reference.pdf Here’s another cross reference list for alternators: http://www.amb2b.com/download/all_alternator_catalog.pdf
  4. This would be a better chart to add to the alternator list; more information. https://content.subarunet.com/snet/_content/fixed_operations/parts_quick_reference_guide/Pg%2068-69.pdf
  5. Yikes, bad enough that the DOJ was a turbo version, but to have the EA81 shaft too is rediculous. I think Tom may have the answer.
  6. Bucky92 covered all the important items. Definitely best to get a '96 or earlier EJ22 since they are non-interference engines; '97 models went to interference heads for some reason. First timing belt change due at 105K; hopefully it was done with new waterpump at the same time. Ask for maintenance records if buying private sale. Torque bind can be an issue but Connie pointed out what to look for there. Back east rust is always an issue.
  7. Oh, that's ugly. Best of luck with the repair. Time to visit the wrecking yards.
  8. When you find the switch on the tranny, unplug it and use a paper clip bent the right way to short the two pins in the plug. If the back-up lights work now (ignition on and engine running), the tranny switch is bad. If the lights still don't work, both bulbs are bad or a broken wire in the harness (if you have a wagon).
  9. I'm glad you corrected that 5.75 offset number. Offset is typically 50 to 55mm on Subaru. 5x100 bolt pattern.
  10. GD has the right idea on this. Count the splines and either they packed a turbo axle in a non-turbo box; or the reman company put the wrong DOJ on the shaft. I've seen it happen (not to me, but someone else helping my son work on his). Generally no damage to either the tranny or the axle; just the roll pin is toast....and an embarassed mechanic. GD is also right about the axle falling off the transmission; that shouldn't happen if the axle was properly installed.
  11. 15" alloys and 16" steelies sell for $100 to $150/ set out here on craigslist; less at pull a part yards. If I had a set, I'd ship it to you for $200 shipping included. Keep looking, I'm sure you'll find a reasonably priced set soon.
  12. That's my old beauty. A great car when we owned it and it looks like it's still around.
  13. Welcome to the site! Nice to have someone local again. I'm in Bothell and anytime you need some assistance or advice on your '86 wagon, drop me a PM with a 'phone number and we can talk about it. I owned an '86 wagon for over 150K miles; sold it with 255K on it about 3 years ago and I believe it's still running.
  14. Googling the p/n number of my Forester's alternator and I ran across this (I know, too much free time on my hands): http://opposedforces.com/parts/forester/us_s10/type_4/engine_electronic/alternator/illustration_2/
  15. I found this by accident googling my alternator p/n to see if I could find the output current. I didn't find that but the production dates for the various models seem useful. https://content.subarunet.com/snet/_content/fixed_operations/parts_quick_reference_guide/Pg%2068-69.pdf
  16. Seriously, nice job with the tonnearu cover. I have one for my '84, but it seems to have shrunk over the years and I haven't been able to stretch it enough to fit properly. Any thoughts on softening it up enough to make it fit?
  17. You mean they spell it that way in Australia?!
  18. Lack of power steering in my Brat made for good upper body strength over the years:). Actually it's not so bad as long as you aren't doing K turns all the time. As I remember, front fenders and hood off the wagons or hatch with interchange. Antenna hole did change but McBrat covered that also. I always thought the hatch doors interchanged but wasn't aware that the Brat glass was unique. Rocker panels between the Brat and Hatch also were interchangeable if you were good at welding. All my comments refer to the '84 Brat (which I have) but are mostly true for all the gen2 versions from '82 to '87. You should be able to find the glass for a Brat at the u-pull-it yards; a bit rare but Brats will show up now and then. Wagons and Hatches are much more common. If you're near Portland, you might look up Superior Import Repair (www.fixmysuby.com). The owner is a dedicated Subaru person and USMB member and might have the parts you're looking for.
  19. Certainly possible; I noticed the difference in shaft diameter in the FSM quite a while ago; could quite possibly have been a Legacy version and not the GL version.
  20. Oddly enough, fwd axles are stronger than awd axles since they can't share the load of moving the car with the rear axles. Certainly no reason you can't use a fwd axle since they'll fit; only difference is the shaft diameter.
  21. Check the USRM for a write-up. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=75786
  22. Which weber is he talking about? The weber of choice is the DGAV36/32 or the DFAV36/32. They are generally appropriate for 1.5L to 2.0L engines. If they didn't come off a Subaru, then you may have some issues with jetting and such.
  23. Results: http://www.scca.com/documents/Rally%20Points/RlxNats2009FinalResults.pdf
  24. The momemtary load on the battery caused by the blinker causes the voltage on the battery to drop slightly. Unless the voltage drops when the engine rpm is at 2000 or more, it's nothing to worry about.
  25. Sparky, I'm sorry to see you leave; but best of luck to you in the new location. You know you have an endless source of parts here in the NW; and I should think you know about shipping.
