  1. I have one on my 95 Outback. You probably cant even get one from the dealer. You gotta do what you need to.
  2. I had some weird stuff like that happen with my Brat alternator would go out.
  3. Good job getting it replaced. Glad you got it sorted out.
  4. You need to get it from Subaru. The parts store cables are inferior.
  5. Fusible links are in a gray box behind the battery on the left side of the engine bay. It will have 3 fusible links inside of it.
  6. I would love to see an in car video if you get around to it.
  7. You need to double check the wiring on your headunit. I pray you used a harness adapter.
  8. Thanks Jason.
  9. You should really listen to GD and take him up on his advice.
  10. The problem I had was the clamp that attaches the neck to the hose going into the tank was at a an angle that only allowed for partial contact with my screw driver and nut drivers. It made the job annoyingly longer to complete.
  11. The reason I said that is because people usually just slap turbo kits on without doing the correct changes to accommodate the boost. The NA engine has a compression ratio that is higher than a turbo engine. I hope you have a reliable boost gauge to monitor PSI with. That thing overboosts, it will go BOOM.
  12. Could that be an A/C compressor to an EA82? I bet their parts system for an 86 shows your BRAT as getting an EA82, this is false and a common problem with parts places. Best bet is to order stuff for an 84 as it will show getting the correct EA81 engine.
  13. You need to switch to another image host besides linking to facebook. Imgur or photobucket will do just fine.
  14. Thanks to Bratman for the 07 STi center caps. I love 'em I also added Centric high carbon rotors.
  15. You can probably count on doing many other changes on that thing. DIY turbo kits are usually ticking time bombs.
  16. Let's see some engine bay and interior shots! That is one of my favorite EA81 colors.
  17. You can. The wire is there for you to plug a tach up on the legacy cluster.
  18. I had to do this last year. I got a whole replacement kit from Annapolis Subaru that they sell. You don't need to drain the gas tank. Yeah, there will be some leak out but the whole tank won't dump on you. I can go ahead and warn you, It's not a fun job. I had a lot of trouble getting the clamps off. When you do get it replaced, throw the cover in the trash.
  19. I would check with your mechanic if he is confident working on Subarus, better yet ones with head gasket failures. I would imagine there being a few independent shops in your area.

    Retrofit ftw!
  21. Thank you GD. I am one of the guys running the Subaru filter on my STi and my Outback.
  22. I can count 15 people I know personally running OEM Subaru blue filters including myself on my 2 Subarus. We have not had any issues with them and I believe they are a quality item.
  23. Took this Saturday morning on our way to the big Subaru meet.
