  1. You can probably count on doing many other changes on that thing. DIY turbo kits are usually ticking time bombs.
  2. Let's see some engine bay and interior shots! That is one of my favorite EA81 colors.
  3. You can. The wire is there for you to plug a tach up on the legacy cluster.
  4. I had to do this last year. I got a whole replacement kit from Annapolis Subaru that they sell. You don't need to drain the gas tank. Yeah, there will be some leak out but the whole tank won't dump on you. I can go ahead and warn you, It's not a fun job. I had a lot of trouble getting the clamps off. When you do get it replaced, throw the cover in the trash.
  5. I would check with your mechanic if he is confident working on Subarus, better yet ones with head gasket failures. I would imagine there being a few independent shops in your area.
  6. Thank you GD. I am one of the guys running the Subaru filter on my STi and my Outback.
  7. I can count 15 people I know personally running OEM Subaru blue filters including myself on my 2 Subarus. We have not had any issues with them and I believe they are a quality item.
  8. Took this Saturday morning on our way to the big Subaru meet.
  9. Roughed it up after cleaning with a red scuff pad after cleaning. It's a pretty easy project, aside from the hangers.
  10. Got the axleback painted with VHT flameproof. Did about 3 coats, let's hope they hold up. I got done right with the thunder rolling in the not so distance. Windex on the kartboy hangers made this job so much easier. Before: No, I am not wingless. That was just for an hour while I replaced some studs a few months ago on the trunk.
  11. New one to me. If you have a check engine light, we need to be in the P0xxx format.
  12. Really sounds like a bad axle. I would also try an EMPI one as I have heard great things about them.
  13. Suggested that last night to him. I have had some weird issues when it comes to radiator caps failing. Thanks guys.
  14. Will advise. New one to me. Never heard of that cap wearing out. He did text me back later and said he had been hearing air in the system at startup. Yeah...:-\
  15. 03 legacy Head gaskets replaced 2 years ago. Cap has been popping off here lately and causing coolant to spill. What could cause this? Not my car, just going by what my buddy tells me.
  16. We had to do it several times on a WRX I was working on. Thing barely pumped up to half way and we drove it around town for about an hour and came back home and re-bled it. They suck and just take time.
