  1. Post some engine bay pictures, good ones, not from a cell phone.
  2. Roughed it up after cleaning with a red scuff pad after cleaning. It's a pretty easy project, aside from the hangers.
  3. Got the axleback painted with VHT flameproof. Did about 3 coats, let's hope they hold up. I got done right with the thunder rolling in the not so distance. Windex on the kartboy hangers made this job so much easier. Before: No, I am not wingless. That was just for an hour while I replaced some studs a few months ago on the trunk.

    Stealth mode!
  5. Gosh, wished this existed last year when my A/C took a dump on my STi.
  6. New one to me. If you have a check engine light, we need to be in the P0xxx format.
  7. Really sounds like a bad axle. I would also try an EMPI one as I have heard great things about them.
  8. Suggested that last night to him. I have had some weird issues when it comes to radiator caps failing. Thanks guys.
  9. Will advise. New one to me. Never heard of that cap wearing out. He did text me back later and said he had been hearing air in the system at startup. Yeah...:-\
  10. 03 legacy Head gaskets replaced 2 years ago. Cap has been popping off here lately and causing coolant to spill. What could cause this? Not my car, just going by what my buddy tells me.
  11. We had to do it several times on a WRX I was working on. Thing barely pumped up to half way and we drove it around town for about an hour and came back home and re-bled it. They suck and just take time.
  12. Thanks Jason. I know what you mean. I been fighting to find time to clean it for a month.
  13. Not much of an update but I did clean the old girl yesterday fairly well:
  14. Bingo. My buddy accidentally bought LGT brakes for his 03 L SE one time.
  15. The aem one on rsd looks to cross reference. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/AEM-Short-Ram-Intake-Red-Subaru-WRX-STI-FXT-2002-2007

Always can tell a genuine STi intake manifold. I have never seen a painted one that was spot on with the STi's.
  17. Correct. 01 Forester will not have an immobilizer in the key. It can have a security system upgrade.
  18. That thing is in great shape. Let's see some interior and engine bay pictures.
  19. Imagine working as a warehouse picker of bearings.
  20. I have an 05 STi and have had many other Subarus as well. The key to getting one used is confirming what life it had before you go to look at it. Luckily, I got mine from a guy who had it since 2005 and he also worked at Lockheed-Martin as an engineer. Took super good care of it and had plenty of records of maintenance. The main thing is he didn't call me "bro" on the phone. People do mod these things, that's a given. You just have to look at what mods the person has on them. I passed on several that had some obnoxious vent to atmosphere blow off valve.
