  1. Bob, I'm not picking on you. Not calling you out. It's just something that comes up on this board over and over. When someone asks about carbs... "I do not want to go FI. Period. Please dont try to change my mind, it wont happen." I grew up with them. I've probably rebuilt close to 100 of them. I can make them work. Often, on the cheap. F.I. guys run from them! lol A lot of those guys just don't understand them, or why "anyone" would want one. Enough. I'm just going to tune it out from this day foreward. Doug
  2. "Any ideas?" Well, duh. jk:) Nitrous Oxide.
  3. I saw some on ebay, a few different colors. A guy in Cali. Doug
  4. In 2003 I bought a set of 175/70 RWL Dayton Daytonas. Nice tires. I went back for another set. Discontinued. Can't say I've ran across any RWL 13 since. I've looked at a lot of 13" new tires lately. What I did find, was what looks like a good, "new to me" selection of Sumitomo tires recently. Doug
  5. Hi, Good Morning all. Last two Y pipes I've done, I used Beck Arney. Slide them over the studs and they stay there. Nice. I don't have any on hand to take pics of because I used them:). Just a wide variety of materials and construction out there. Doug
  6. The ones on the right are from NAPA from about a year ago. The bottom metal is more like OEM. The others are recent multi layer from Fel Pro. I have used both sizes on the manifold to head interface on a EA-82. Of course, I belt sand the flange on the pipe flat. They'll all work if you do that. Doug
  7. Three different kinds I have.
  8. Do tell. I need some 4X100mm custom wheels. Sincerely, Doug
  9. Hi, This very swap is in my near future. What year DR tranny are you using? I may use a '86 or an '89. Doug
  10. Hi, Without reading the replies, put a vacume gage on the motor. Report what it reads. Doug Edit. I would take a very close look at the radiator as well. Pull it out, strip it down, flush it out. I'd want that vacume number. Edit: If it has good vacume, it has good compression. If it has good compression, it has good vacume.

  12. Hi, It sounds like your brakes may need to bleed the brakes as well. Left front, right rear, right front, left rear. Doug
  13. Ok, talk to me. Is is carbureted, MPFI, MPFI Turbo, SPFI? Forget about any main relay for right now, k? It's fuel, or spark. Like the man said. Need more info. Doug
  14. Hi, Yes. Put a battery charger on it. Check and clean the battery connections. Let us know what happens. Doug
  15. Hi GD, It doesn't. Any Corvette, other than a modern C 5, I wouldn't give you much for it, if I had to drive it. To each their own. I don't bash a lifted Subaru, tho I will "never" build one. I'd buy a Jeep. I could go on and on. Bashing the old 82 doesn't deter me from enjoying them one bit. One of your fans, Sincerely, Doug
  16. Hi Gary, I've used them. They add dollars. They're effective tho. When I hear, "and it still leaks oil", well, there you go. I suspect if someone gets cams done by Delta, they can take care of the groove on those while they're at it. Just some quick thoughts. Doug
  17. I used it once. It's heavy, so a weight penalty. It's expensive. Doug
  18. You're on the right track. If it's grooved, and you don't want a come back, use the sleeve. Word. hth Doug
  19. And sell me those stinkin carbs. Cheap.
  20. Hey, The 0W-20 would have been a mistake. Here's what happened. I've put some miles on it. Keep in mind I had 10W-30, Mobile 1 in it on one 90 degree F. day. I put the 0W-30 Mobile 1 in it and the same 90 degree day: Get this, at 3000 r.p.m. on the highway: It carried 45 p.s.i. with the 10W-30. It carries 3/32" below 45 p.s.i. with the 0W30. Consistant with what I've observed in the Chevy. There's a clue there:). That's with the factory gague and it's nominally accurate, it seems. However. With the 0W-30. When the engine it going for 5500 r.p.m., the oil pressure stops climbing a tick above 45 p.s.i. . Good enough for a driver, which it is. I would not run it hard, for long that way. I want no less than 10 p.s.i. per 1000 r.p.m. in something I'm going to work hard or beat on. Or a racing engine. I might even want a little more than that. Doug
  21. That's a good thing. Put him under observation. Drive on, don't worry, he's tough. Doug
  22. I might have missed something. However, an egr valve sticking open will cause the symptoms you described. hth Doug
  23. We do get that cold here, just never know when. I'm not sure GD but decided to give it a go, see what happens. It could be a cold wet winter here. I actually wanted to try 0w20. I like what I saw from this oil in a tight 364 c.i. Chevy. Doug
