  1. If you have 14” wheels it’s because of the market you’re in , I would guess. As mentioned the USA had 15” in that era. There is a diameter match going from 14 to 15. 195/60/15 will equal the circumference of your stock 14”. We have done just that , as have many others , with our 94 Legacy. Enjoy !
  2. Yes I was think that same thing about coverage. Pipes still exposed but at least there’s some possible deflection. Stop sign !! That’s us. Hahaha He watched me torture Subarus taking him to meets in the woods so it’s tough to tell him to go easy.
  3. Larry , I’m ok with those pipes. I managed to tuck a couple away at least before they mostly vanished up here. But if he needs a 2 port , then I’m needing one.
  4. Yeah , I’m trying to get him to send a good pic. He shoved the phone under but didn’t point it upward. That was like 3 days ago. Arrgggh
  5. You know , my wife’s 94 Legacy is an Outdoor Sport edition or Alpine , whatever. It did indeed have a skid plate. But I’m keeping that on her car. Damn , they just scrapped my 93? AWD parts car wagon. Crap! I’ll bet there was one on it too. Waaaagh !!!
  6. Larry , I’m dead sure I won’t find find one. Wait , I’d better not use dead. Lol If you do have one or find one I’ll gladly pay you as usual but would have it sent to my son in AZ. So please let me know , not in any real rush though. I have to get his Y pipe sorted out first from 2600 miles away. Have one here but the crack might just be ok to weld. Getting kids to communicate when you want ..... hahaha So at this moment I’m waiting to hear what he or his friends did. 96 Outback 2.2 should be the same as the 90-94 exhaust port , yes ?? The snowman 4 port. Mainly need a front bash plate to protect that Y pipe. Hoping he doesn’t really off-road it.
  7. Are there any or have to go custom ? My thought was to outfit my son’s ‘96 Legacy Outback. Thanks. I can’t recall seeing any up this way.
  8. No but great news. I just bought a $400 parts car - GT Sedan , manual shift. Its up where Subafreak does some work. I’ll be bringing my wagon up there soon and he/we will swap over the entire drivetrain with engine too I think. Parts car has lower miles , one owner always synth oil - not a big deal to me but I guess I’ll stay that route. Thanks for asking ! Hoping to give up one of the 92’s soon after.
  9. Thanks Dave , you do the same. Most folks have gone over to face book , which I try to not get too involved with. Good to see you back here.
  10. Wow !! It’s 2020 and lookie what’s come upon us all. Worldwide pandemic. Best wishes to all through this episode. We are feeling well here as of this post. No issues , and staying home as much as possible. Just like many folks I had my dreams of selling off lots of parts and reducing storage. It’s going to be a tough year. I sure will do my best for you nice folks. I realize that lots of us are losing money and falling behind. So far all is well enough here but very tight for $$$ And I know it’s the same for others. Letting some things go for free. Milford CT is the center of the vintage Subaru parts world. 70’s anyways ... Try to stop on by if at all possible. Otherwise message me here or email at moosens@yahoo.com Ebay is a bit tough on hobbyists like me or you when it comes to selling. I’ve toned it down for now but you’ll see my stuff under the infamous “cashingmystuffin” , the one , the only , blah blah blah And we’re back to the bottom line here ... I/we need to reduce storage space so it’s a big year to make things happen. Hoping I can make you all great deals and we all roll forward happily. One last word. Some guys are reselling my NOS parts at 10x the price !! Best of luck out there !
  11. Sounds good to me. Enjoy ! that pump you want is out there. It’ll show up soon.
  12. Right , thanks for straightening that out. 2wd save for the 70’s cars. Lol
  13. I’ve been out of the 80’s game for some time now. But it’s not like there’s a lot out there so whichever you come across first. Any 80’s turbo will have rear disk brakes.
  14. Yeah , storage .... always a tough call on large items like hoods and doors and the rear hatch. Thanks 3Pin ! Soon I’ll have them both side by side but I’m around 90 miles from where they will meet so I appreciate the heads up. Ido - I would rather exercise you nice folks here and especially draw from direct owner experience rather than play around with car-part etc. But thanks for that.
  15. And for the record I’m generally a shelf stocker not a seller. These are parts for keeping to sustain my wagon as the model fades away from junkyards and used ones are scarce. It’s cold and salty up here so we don’t enjoy the benefits of having old Subarus to scavenge from as much as many other places. Stockpile !! Lol Geez , I only sat in it for a half hour driving it to its destination and can’t recall if it was a leather interior. I don’t think so. Don’t think it’s a special edition either. Probably won’t sell a single part. But if you’re looking for 70’s parts I may have you covered. Cheers!!
  16. Correct , no Outbacks involved here. Thanks all ! I got lucky in that the donor is the same color green as mine. So I’ll try to find room for the hood and if the fenders are nice at the tails I’ll keep them too. Probably pass on the fog lights exchange but might keep the entire bumper. So do the doors transfer sedan to wagon ? Cupholders and all the little doo dads for sure. I’ll create a couple small boxes for interior bits and electrical bits. How about sunroof stuff ? As if this moment my wagon , and the donor car do not leak. Do the associated parts have issues ? Thanks again !
  17. Paper versions show up on eBay. As I go through mine I’ll see what’s there that helps you. If I find anything I’ll send a message and/or post back.
  18. Cassette player !!! I may use it just a couple of time but I’m tickled it has one in 2003.
  19. For sure I want to snag the driving lights or whatever they are , fog lights ? Any reason why that bumper or the lights won’t transfer over to my wagon ? I can’t post a pic now but it’s a GT Sedan that is the donor.
  20. What would you keep ? Looking for experienced 2000-2004 owners. I’ve kind of been around the world of parting out old Subarus. So I know the basics. But it’s my first of this generation. Looking for any oddball things that owners would know. Quirky stuff. Like I hear the steering column/cruise control lever - which on my driver (2003) is a bit tweaked out. For the record I got this 2002 GT sedan for parts only to assist my 2003 wagon. Non Outback Legacy. Subafreak has already explained how I made out with a better ratio in the driveline which is the main reason I bought this car. My post about my wagon troubles Thanks!
  21. If you’re keeping stock brakes any 80-84 factory service manual will help. The Brat ran longer as did the Hatchback. But the 80-84 cars are the core. Any of those manuals will help. There are Brat or MPV Supplements to the FSM’s you may find. But for the engine and drivetrain the regular car manual has you covered. Guys like me are out there on eBay. Dedicated hobbyist selling off their “hoarded stash” . With me it’s the 70’s. I don’t have much 80’s at all. But I do see a guy selling 80’s NOS and there’s often good used items from guys like you and me. Ebay can be tricky sometimes. But at least with 70’s and 80’s parts you can bet it’s not some copy and is totally authentic. Hunting for rear disk brakes too ? Turbo models will have those and later Loyale Turbos. Enjoy !
  22. And there is no way around removing the belt and thereby needing to reset the tensioner afterward. You’re in it good but don’t sweat it. Lots of us are NOT mechanics but do most of our own wrenching. Others did it , you can too.
  23. We are all going to suggest you do the timing , and re-seal the whole front of the engine while doing your water pump. Yes , I remove the fans at least. Can and often do remove the radiator since they are thin and easily damaged. Allows you to inspect it better. The thermostat is down there too so get a fresh one of those with its gasket , and might consider the small hose off the water pump which is pre-formed and best gotten at the dealer or dealer online. Used to be called the bypass hose. More to follow. Lots of good folks here.
