  1. Good to see you around too ! And Dennis , from Philly. What was his name ? dennis24 ? So many old names. Man time flies.
  2. Sent a private message. I have most parts manuals you’ll need.
  3. Yeah , shop with a dealer from the PNW or west coast. My local dealer was cool back when and listened to me when I asked them to check west coast distribution and sure enough I managed to get a lot of parts I couldn’t normally get here.
  4. It’s a tough world these days for finding quality parts for cars this old. Pretty much go with what you can find , but search for that elusive quality part as you go. Sometimes old stock shows up but as for alternators I haven’t seen an original in new form for many years now. Old schoolers like me are ok with Beck-Arnley parts because you’d often open it up and find a genuine Subaru part inside , or at least get a quality made part which fit correctly. I should still have at least a couple used and even a reman or two as well. Sold one about a year ago.
  5. Main guy I am stiff curious about is Skip. I know he had his wife and best friend pass away close in time and he’s been in Florida. If anyone hears anything please post.
  6. I’ve got some used mudflaps soon to come out. I’ll send a PM when I get them. Meanwhile I don’t mind one bit if Todd takes the sale.
  7. Pardon me for stating we are founding members. I think Todd was before me and I came in a little after but Billy C was the founder. Don’t want to take any credit for that. Shawn is our hero who has managed the reigns and was also super early on the USMB.
  8. I have good old metal too. Finding perfect is a nice dream. I wish you well but think about what year it is now and how any fender could possibly remain perfect all these years. Even the NOS fenders I have/had all have/had some marks from being stored and moved etc.
  9. Good man !!! You searched archives and found the issue and are about to confirm. Man if we all were like you the world would be smooth creamy and delicious. Lol Store bought alternators generally crap out fairly quickly. Even straight out of the box at times ! Let us know what you’ve found. Find that receipt or hopefully it’s on their computer and you have a warranty. It’s just a fact of life owning these old cars with no more dealer parts. So use their warranty and get a fresh one. Good luck.
  10. Me - Paul - “cashingmystuffin “ on ebay Todd - Subaru3 here on the USMB and “vintagesubaru” on eBay. We we are both founding members here and both getting older and trimming down our stock. Please be kind and respectful with doing business there on eBay. They DO have robots scanning and DO set fees upon you if they feel you’ve crossed them by taking the contact and making the transaction elsewhere. So so please DO NOT contact me on eBay and ask to pull items or make deals here or anywhere beside there. You can contact me here and ask thru PM. Thanks for understanding.
  11. Geez , I don’t know. Andrew SELLING an old Subaru ....hmmm , that’s a new one on me. I thought he just collects. And honestly I don’t recall the white top you mention. Time is zipping by and brain cells heading off the retirement. I was lucky enough to finally meet Galen - carfreak85 and Richie this past WCSS20. But I can’t recall the name of his shop either. See brain cell issue above. Plenty of funny comments to make at this time but man I really had a great weekend out there.
  12. Most of the gang has gone to face dook. I kind of hate it but also participate on occasion. Tried selling parts there but kind of annoying and getting people to follow up is often a chore. Theres an Ultimate Subaru Message Board group. Then a couple old school groups I take part in. Good luck. Of course I’m assuming you didn’t know those so pardon me if you’ve already been there.
  13. Enjoy that ride !!! Keep the mice out. Mothballs work. Just don’t let them sit directly on carpet or plastic.
  14. Hey guys - anyone left here ??! - as many of you know I am cleaning storage out big time. For those new or who didn’t know , I have a lot of vintage Subaru parts mostly from 1972-1979 and Gen I Brat. Still have lots of New Old Stock items and plenty of great used items. If you saw this and still have an early Subaru please bump this thread up and correct any list you may have made in the past and please bump it up into a revised post. Gettng cold fast but I see better weather coming next week. Trying to get parts out and make some deals. Check eBay as I’ve sadly become an active seller these days. I don’t like it , so make contact here. Save us both.
  15. Andrew Parker now in MA foremerly and sometimes still from CT. His would be closest to you , Jack. He’s not on here so much anymore but you can find him on face dook. Andrew Clavie-Parker is the name he uses. He would have plenty of info and advice.
  16. 77 Stage one or Stage two ? Subafreak has my 76 GF maroon fenders with 56k on them. Being 76 they are Stage one. i also have at least one New Old Stock 77 Stage two thru 79. I’m in CT and use Greyhound for large items like these. And there’s a drivers side Stage two fender in Fiberglass on eBay right now.
  17. That's what I’m talking about ! Nice job. Not a USMB posting but who cares. Still do some research here if you have further questions. It was a hot topic a decade ago or so.
  18. I’m dead positive all that info is back there in archives. Extracting it shouldn’t be too challenging. Search that 80’s forum and the expected keywords. Not fair for a non mod guy to offer any advice so I’m not of much help other than what I think I’ve seen presented here. There were adapter plates made for the 1800’s bellhousing to EJ’s. This is one thing going forward that I hope people appreciate about “old” message boards. The info you want is here in archives. Face Dook your inquiry would get mostly smart rump roast remarks and fade off into oblivion. Decades of knowledge here ! Wisdom around every corner. Good luck.
  19. You’re in a very fortunate area for elder Subarus. Enjoy !
  20. I see your location as Lebanon but that could mean the Middle East , Connecticut , or probably a handful of states. If you were up here in CT or any state where rust is a problem I would treat the wheel aprons with tar or whatever you choose. Especially around the horizontal seam near the top. Clean and inspect the fuel filler tube. Check wheel bearings. You already mentioned the rest. Good luck.
  21. You’re special , Jim. The young fellow at the counter made me use my phone and buy online for my discount. But if John was there I’m sure it’d be different. Anthony has waived the magic wand at the counter at least once for me. Second vote for our local subarupartsforyou.com
  22. Apache Junction as in east of Phoenix ? I’ve got fenders here in CT. My son is in Tempe and either he or I might be driving out there sometime between late October thru the winter if you can wait. Shipping like that I normally use Greyhound. From my experience I’d guess that fender would ship for around $60-70 I have one New Old Stock and a couple used. Send a private message here or email me at moosens@yahoo com if interested. *** check car-part.com and see if there’s anything closer. Good luck. @@@@ mine are solid. Forget about this being New England and rust. The used ones might show a hint of light rust like even the West gets over time but I assure you mine are not rotted and not pitted. And I can get pics soon.
  23. Cool car and nice intro. Glad you found help here over other sources. White wagons like that were my life for a decade or so. Enjoy ! Dual range five speed swapped in or did you retain the single range ? Cheers!
