  1. Not making the drive down. Its over $23k - pretty sick. Interior should be tan , not black to really show it off. Aftermarket mud flaps up front. Dent in back. Someone is overpaying.
  2. There are six digits. It’s 004036 Looks ok. You can see this old exec. made his way down to the parts warehouse and snagged several neat options and add add ons. But a few non factory/dealer/distributor parts I can see - not the biggest deal except now for this price it’s unacceptable - and seller notes a dent , aged tires , and more. We’ll see how happy the next guy is. That was my color too , back in the day. Had that color with all the bright white details - front bar , high roll bar , wheels.
  3. Hey now , I’ve driven through the Barrens FWD fivespeed from the ranger station on 206 straight thru even past the Quaker Bridge super soft stuff. That’s the scariest part when you’re FWD. And we’ve gone off the main trail too , countless miles in that area. My son and I love it down there. Camped raw in there several times. Usual around the Mulica camp. Wishing , hoping , trying to work in a day trip down there - maybe even today - but schedule is tough. My son is home from school and I want to see that Gen one Brat for sale that’s up to $21k and ends in a day or so. Welcome back. If I head down I’ll let you know. Cheers !
  4. There it is again ! Seller just bought it this past year , wasn’t it ? I may drive down and look it over not that I’m buying though.
  5. It’s a five speed. I’ll likely use an automatic and just cap the tranny cool ports. Kind of common these days with manuals such a small portion of the market. Thanks everyone!
  6. Old days is just look for a Modine and life would be plenty fine for quite a long time. Naturally I see all the cheapies on flee bay. I just went thru my used ones and it seems plastic tanks just don’t like sitting and then being forced back into labor. Read that as second USED radiator to fail on me this year at the plastic reservoir , of course! Advice from empathetic knuckle busters ?
  7. I’m going to slow down at this time for the holidays. You’ll see my stuff dwindling down to near zero for a short stretch. Not sure exactly how long but please be patient and have no fear. Thanks to all who have been bidding on my items. We really appreciate it. Speaking of appreciation. - Leave some feedback !!! I’d say at least half the people don’t leave feedback. Have a great Holiday season and let’s hope for a better new year ahead. Cheers !
  8. Just throwing this out there. Probably only applies to a few of you but worth a shot. Going forward for the next ten years maybe I plan on treating our 3 early Legacys as classics. They are technically classic now here in CT. So , just like you’re looking for vintage parts I’m always investigating most parts for the 90-94’s and with most focus on the 92-4 style which all three of our cars are. Run anything by me. Worst I can do is say no thanks. Some natural wants and needs: Clear headlights not buffed out yet. Drivers seat belt , grey without or with automatic assy. Front corner lights that still have the mounting tab. Front Wheel Drive anything , either sex manual or automatic. Priority on FWD Fivespeed for my daily. 14” wheel and brake stuff. Steering rack , any hard lines , anything power steering related. I just bought a complete unit to reseal over winter but we have theee cars. Whatever you have just run it by me. Gas tank for FWD wagon or sedan I’ll surely consider. Going to back off the 1970’s for a while and focus on my old motorcycles for fun and the first gen Legacys which are now both classic and incredibly functional. Thanks for any help!
  9. No , haven’t gotten to mine. Didn’t really see what I think I have for cowls. Make the sale !
  10. Guys , you can’t ask me to make deals off of eBay while ON eBay. Robots scan the messages for just such activity. And then they charge me a fee. It’s a fact. And they threaten further action. Yes I know about saving money. Also know about exposure and the fact that this board just doesn’t have the traffic it used to and never was as large as the great monster auction house. Thanks for trying but please just watch my stuff and if I happen to post here or face dook then hook up at that time. It’s winter now and the ballgame changes somewhat. More patience required.
  11. Probably not that lot. I’ll be at storage later today and try to find a caliper or set for you.
  12. Sorry to smear a sale over this but I’ve got some factory service manuals with the wiring diagrams and everything. Might be able to get the same info online. These younger folks know better than me where that stuff is available. I always thought the 79+ etron disty drops right in. Did I miss something or do you still have the 79 engine and disty ?
  13. Right on ! And same to you and yours. Older I get the more thankful I become. No politics at the table !!!!!!
  14. Yes , the 79 is the year the line went electronic ignition. I’ll get back with more info soon. Can you add more details about what happens when you go to start it ? Good alternator , voltage regulator , and fuel level thru the sight port in the float bowl chamber ?? Just hitting some basics to get you rolling.
  15. No , they’re one piece. Ship via Greyhound for large items like this.
  16. Are you using a tool to turn the piston into the caliper ? Or just pressing straight in ? You need to turn it in. There’s a simple box shaped tool with shaped “nubs” that fit in the slot on the piston. Most parts stores have them or buy online , they’re cheap. To change a caliper is not that hard. Plenty of tutorials out there I’m sure on YouTube too. You can do it. Have a second person or brake bleed kit for working on your own to bleed the system when you’re done. I’ve done that by myself with no bleeder tool but that’s another story you don’t need to hear right now. But yeah , you can do it. My dealer parts counter guy (older not some punk) directed me to Autoparts International who are suppliers to that dealership for rebuilt calipers. He knew I was in a pinch and we have a relationship of over 2 decades so he saved me like $ 150 easy from buying thru the dealership. Plenty of sources. I’m just letting you know that my reputable dealer also sells you these same calipers marked up outrageously. Your local may have another source.
  17. Age old question and an age old answer - “it’s worth whatever you’re willing to give up for it”. That said I would expect to pay no less than $150 for one a little worked. If another new old stock example shows up it might fetch a good $350 on the right day. And what’s the real difference between the two other than shiny paint ? , should you get one that’s not banged up and still straight as new. Good luck. If it’s Todd he’s the best and you can’t go wrong.
  18. No sets , and no sight of any other paired for this loner. I do have another like the one you see. I’ll list that other left side flap sometime down the line. Somewhere I am sure I have a couple used flaps and outside chance a stray new one somewhere but I sure wouldn’t want to promise that.
  19. Ya know , maybe they’re Gen two ? They are what the bed trim sits on. So much stuff and sometimes so long since I’ve used it that I can easily confuse Gen one and two items at times. These snap into the body and the chrome trim rolls and snaps onto them. Let me know if I’m wrong about which Gen , should you find out first.
  20. Best option is keep looking. No ideal replacement exists other than another 70’s Subaru. I have at least one I could sell but shipping glass can be awful tricky. And I just found another windshield gasket from our last group buy. Glass - $ 150 Gasket - $ 85 You can check PRP and you’ll see they probably still have the gasket as they’re who we went thru and their price with shipping is pretty much a little over my price. These were all made at the same time. I just had the receipt recently cleaning out some old paperwork. My glass will be very nice for it’s age. No chips or cracks and no sandblast. $150 is as low as I’ll ever go from here on out. Crating up the glass will be a chore I sure won’t want to do for free. But for like $70 I’ll have it in a nice soft bed surrounded by wood. That I think is a deal too given it’s cold as heck now and I have to do all this outdoors at storage. So right around $300 plus the actual shipping. We are generally thrifty folks here but I don’t see where I can budge any. I hope you find my explaination reasonable. But by by all means keep looking and I hope you score well. The gasket is available so no worries there. Car-part.com if you haven’t already.
  21. Side trim and then clips under there that will gently pull off. Should be buttons in the ceiling too , no ? Been a long time for 80’s cars for me. Those hard skins are a lot easier to deal with than a fabric.
  22. Cheapest way to attempt an improvement is if you are confident in your re-seal rev the wizz out of it up towards redline without being inattentive hold it there a good 30 seconds or more and often that last lifter in the oil line will Finally load up and quiet down. You won’t kill the engine trying , don’t sweat it.
  23. CT and Town Fair are begining to orally inhale air thru a cylinder. All the small tire shops here seem to be related and all charge $20 not $15 and no bargaining for most people but I did get 4 done for $60 ONCE. I switched to Firestone this year for our 15” wheels we have on our 94 AWD wagon. Good deal , better service , and I bought the lifetime alignment. Yes , we put 15’s on our 94 and they are the same diameter as the 14’s overall so no issues. Decades with Town Fair all washed away. They fired my buddy for crap outside of work. He was with them for decades as well. Total b/s ! For that and the decline in quality I moved on.
