  1. And they will rub on turns only so be aware of that if you fit them up and all looks great. Turn the steering wheel and look again. Just sayin’ Incase you can’t resist these. People are always asking me for those wheels. If cheap enough they might work for you or you can pass them along easily.
  2. Spacers behind the wheel. I was at an old dealer and they had a pile of them for the 4x140 wheels but I wouldn’t expect to find them easily now. Those wagons did have wagon wheel options but they are third generation of those wheels and the setback isn’t so severe. If those wheel you’re showing are from the 80-84 era they will rub on your outer tie rod. You can grind the rod end if no spacers. But I don’t really go for that method , even though others have done it. Probably something in archives about it.
  3. Sorry my friend , the plow sold for I think less than I paid for it , and I’m far removed from the 80’s with very little exception. Best of luck in your search.
  4. I can’t speak for the Board but I sure don’t recall the USMB peddling any products other than USMB regalia. Otherwise , the kits are still out there. Keep looking. And then there’s a whole mess of us that think Webers belong in Italian sports cars and not much else. You’ll find one soon. Good luck.
  5. Right on ! What I did this year was sell some old factory manuals and donated to the USMB $80 Any donation helps and they don’t expect large donations like I gave , but I’ve been here forever and I owe plenty back to this great little hole in the Internet.
  6. Also curious how they got damaged. That info may help others.
  7. High and dry Western Montana , Idaho , Washington , Oregon - but always ask for pics. Southwest mountains like NM and AZ also great spots but less of them. Had one from Utah once and it might still be on the road in VT. Find that website where transporters bid for your job. 1992-94 is my choice. 90-91 has the different grill and lights. Best choice ! We use three of them as daily drivers here in snotty CT where driving an old car that’s not a resto is look down upon. But I know what I’ve got so I’m very happy. My personal wagon is up over 330k now and I am shooting for 500k
  8. BMW bikes and old Subarus. And you dislike the Weber too. I need to buy you a beer sometime. Enjoy ! Up here all the old true vintage Subarus are long gone with barely any exception. There’s a few folks up here with them but not many. Yes , parts have become scarce. Some good old hoarders , myself slightly included , with used parts. And a few of us were smart and ambitious enough to check old dealers etc and have some new old stock as well.
  9. Pardon me if this is well archived but my searches seem to come up short. Its my daily driver 1992 Front Wheel Drive Legacy Willing to not have the feature anymore , or at least see how life is without it entirely. Please let me know what to do so there’s no engagement and no contact of the pads on the diagonal. I think Galen or Russ mentioned that if it’s not dealt with properly you get those diagonal brakes constantly making contact and of course wearing out those pads faster than the other two. I’m pretty sure that’s what’s going on now. As of this moment I thought I had done “good enough” by disconnecting the holder spring by the drivers side. Pretty soon I should have time for stuff like this but I’m off the rails lately and my lack of sleep is really consuming me. So pardon me if I don’t do more before coming to you nice folks. Cheers!
  10. Ear plugs. Yes I’m serious. Enjoy responsibly.
  11. Think about the other issues you’ll be on top of if you pull the engine. Rear main seal , clutch or empty/refreshen torque converter and tranny. I’m not at all familiar with anything from this millennium but my old 2.2’s have rear cam seals or O ring. Of course only you know how much space you have , tools , budget etc. But even the cheap harbor frieght engine crane works and saves the back from bending into the engine bay while also using your arms. Might not sound so bad if you’re a young buck but back issues are real and often crop up from such activity. Cheapy engine crane - $100-140 , probably cheaper than the co-pays from the chiropractic therapy sessions. If you do manage it while in the car please post back with your experience. Good luck with it.
  12. Good luck. Sounds like a scene I’ve lived through at least a few times. Yeah , can’t have traffic when you make these type of runs.
  13. Hey you’re back ! Good luck on the badge.
  14. I agree , those bodies just plain bit for rot. No repairs are great although you sure can fudge it to look decent for a short term. Too much effort for me personally.
  15. Yeah , run the heater too , as mentioned. Good old New England humidity and it’s going to be around 90 degrees , higher this weekend. You should loose two or three pounds on the ride back. Lol
  16. Get in and drive , watch the gauge and pull over when needed. I’ve done this oh just a few times in my life. You’ll be fine and you don’t need that engine so don’t sweat it.
  17. Sweet !!! Can’t wait for the next 2 1/2 years to go by. :) How’s life up north ?
  18. Unless you head up towards Hagerstown you’re not likely to hit hills you’ll suffer. Sure mods like an EJ22 are awesome , but I’ve had countless positive experiences with stock. All depends on what you want out of life , budgets , and time. Had so much fun off-roading several stock EA82 wagons and such. Perfect for my budget and time constraints. Patience helps. Being “that guy” on the road up here in the Northeast with the old vintage ride you are generally disrespected most of the time you’re on the road. They only have to see that you’re in an old car and they immediately hound you like you’re slowing them down , etc. So I used to just cruise mine and wave the finger. Enjoy !!!
