Anyone heard from PK lately??? I know he travels a bit too. So just count this as a bump

Just turn it around 180º. very common problem. You could also go with a manual choke set up. Later, Tim

All the Subs I saw there (thousands of them) were 1.6 DL 2wd's including Brats. The 87ish sedans were by far the most popular, followed by Brats and wagons.

I still have the old ones, I'll measure them later and let you know what I come up with. Tim

$$ Question on Pug Wheels????
chef_tim replied to stansgl's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It depends............ How badly do you want or need them and what is the availability of them in your area. I would gladly give $25 each for Pugs. The guys on the left coast would probably only give half that. Thats the basics of what it boils down to. Later, Tim -
Yep, thats why I pulled the adjustables out. I've got new tyres on it and I don't want to wear out the sides again.

I don't see why we couldn't work something out. Unless PK wants it back or something like that. Later, tim

Hi Patrick, I've got a weird question of the day for you. Can I get the front half of a 4/3 EA82 lift from you???? This will be for Vickys wagon it has a 3/3 lift now, but I swaped out the adjustable strutts and now it is very close in the front. I don't want to go back to the adjustables either cause they really crank on the alignement. Thanks, Tim PS are you still collecting steering links??? I saved the one from the last car I parted with you in mind. Send me an addy and I'll put it in the mail. Later, tim

Just FYI, you can get a Doorman lugnut and stud set from your local parts house. You just need a Sub one for reference, then you can get a longer stud that is about .03 wider in the knerl. They will need to be pressed in, I feel alot safer with that much more thread on the nuts. Later, Tim

You guys had a great turn out, looks like fun. I can't believe "EYESORE" was there........... he must just travel from show to show....LOL Tim -
I'm considering changing the rear struts on DRTYGRL, and I'm wondering if anyone has gone to a longer strut to get away from the extention bracket from the lift kit?????? If so what spring/strut combo did you use. Thanks, Tim
-
Are you saying that you want to make the 4wd a 2wd??? If so, then yes it is a direct swap. Gotta remember Subs don't have a transfercase, it's all one unit. You could find a 5spd D/R out of an EA82 car and put that in. Lots of us have done that swap. Welcome to the board, Tim

Aggressive mud/snow tires for stock 13's?
chef_tim replied to xbrandonedgex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Those look about like the tread on mine, but you'll want to go with a 185/80/13 it is a little narrower and a little taller. I'll try and see what brand I have, but I think they have been discontinued. The D/R 5spd swap is easy, all you'd need is a tranny and rearend(if the gear ratios are different). That is my wifes wagon, I have an hatch (RUZILLA...LOL) Later, Tim -

Wow!!! You two are ADD kids.......LOL. Mary, it's alot easier to type something and be misunderstood. You don't have voice influctions, facial expressions etc etc. Of course, on the reciving end you may get someone who becomes instantly defensive which doesn't help either. If you see a situation like that starting, just take a minute to either PM the person or repost stating a clearer version of what you mean. I didn't see the original post but I've been around long enough to know how these things can get out of hand fast. Thanks for your candor, Tim -
Hey Bill, If the CV is already going bad, don't waste money on a boot kit. Most of them are junk anyways. I'd just do a new/reman axle and be done with it. This is where I got ny new one, I think this is the same one they sell at Auto Zone too. http://www.automotive-axles.com/axles.asp?Model=Loyale+%2F+Sedan+%2F+Coupe+%2F+Wagon+%2F+2WD+%2F+4WD+%2F+GL+HB&Submit=Next%3E Later, Tim
