  1. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16892 Just scroll down to my post and see the pictures, Tim PS this post brought to you by a search;)
  2. I'll be in the Cocoa Beach area (can't remember the AFB, dangged 'ol timers) If you are close and want to get together on an evening let me know. Dates are 16-18 November. Hope to see you there, Tim
  3. Hey jason, there is no one magic set of numbers for these things. Alot of it depends on what you want out of your car. Top-end, bottem end torque, economy etc etc. a good set of numbers to start with is : 140 for both mains, 60 primary idle 55 secondary idle, and 165 primary A/C and 160 secondary A/C. That is what I have in my Hatch, I got lots of lowend torque, no high end, and fantasticly low MPG i.e. 17....'Course that's with 28 Swammpers too. Another thing to remember is to set the float correctly. Later, Tim
  4. Easy to do with just a few glitches. First if it has P/S one of the lines will have to be manufactured. another problem is the coolant neck faces the wrong way on one of the intakes, we just put in a copper 90º elbow. those were the biggest challanges, but it worked great. I'm sure there was other stuff but its been a long time since I did mine.
  5. Hey Shawn, I don't know if Emilly and Rick still have their's or not but if they do it might help to be able to see one that is already put together. Can't wait to see this one. Later, Tim
  6. I don't have mine any longer but when I did........ 3" lift 205/75/14's swapped in the D/R 5spd fun car, just to much electical junk (GL10 w/all the goodies)
  7. The "radial" part is probably the radial arm or plate. Unless it is completely rusted out it would be very hard to damage these parts. Take it up the chain Mary, they screwed up they should fix it
  8. At that piont very easy. Go under the hood, find the steering link, 12mm bolt (pull it all the way out), then spread it a little, column will take some pulling as there is a gromet in the fire wall. If it is a parts car and you've got it that far PK davis would probably take the steering link off your hands, Just a thought. Later, Tim
  9. Hi James, Welcome aboard!!! Just to start...... are all four tyres the same size, brand, PSI etc etc???? If not, that will be a big issue with the Sub. Later, tim
  10. Mick, I have a parts carb you could have the screen out of if you need it. Tim
  11. I'm with Skeet. Give the drive shaft a wiggle and see if there is play at the U-joints. I just changed out the drive shaft in Vickys car and I need to get some pictures. I thought it was only one of the joints but it turned out to be two and they were just shy of gernading. let us know what it is Dave. Later, Tim
  12. I've bought two from them, the last one we went and picked up at their shop. We got the grand tour and I'll tell you what........... It's like the santa's work shop of Subarus!!!!! We really enjoyed meeting them too. Now help them out and buy a motor!!!! Later, Tim
  13. Dude, lighten up a little. One thing you need to understand is we all have opinons, in a forum like this they get shared. Just take from it the info you need (which by now has been provided) and leave the rest to the great debators of the subby world, makes for alot more peaceful life. As for me, I looked all over the dash to try and find the "off" switch for the DRLs and wondered the same thing. Not to turn them off, just so I'd know where the switch was. Enjoy your Forester, I know what you mean about lossing sleep, I get a funny giggle every time I get on my 2.5RS:brow: Later, Tim
  14. Check the small lead on the starter, the one that is a clip. I know they do funky things when unplugged/dirty beyond contact. Tim
  15. It's probably not that you're asking to much. just that we as a group are very frugel (ie cheap/broke). You might want to consider Ebay too. Later, Tim
  16. Don't start with me Micky.............. You know exactly how they are, Subbies can sense and opening in the drive way. They just won't stop comming!!!!
  17. Well, I looked at the MS Edis thread and I was lost in the first three or four posts.....LOL. What I really need is simple, and with that said I got the idea of not putting it in my hatch but in DRTYGRL. I have an $1100 CCR motor in my hatch to begin with and the old EA82(210k) in Vickys car is starting to get a bit of a knock, so it just seems to make more sense to do it that way. Keep the ideas comming, Tim
  18. I have a shot at a 91 Legacy wagon for about $200. It runs and rdives but the automatic is getting weak. I'm thinking of doing the EJ 2.2 swap into my Hatch. I need pro's/Con's and things that need to be concidered before I pick it up. I'll be using the EA82 5spd, so an adaptor from Mudrat would be in order. How about things like wiring??? FI or is it carbable??? Anythying anyone else can add would be great. Thanks, Tim
  19. You sure can't say the guy didn't put in enough pictures, and good detail shots too. What a beautiful car!!!
