Ben, you don't need a D/R tranny, it would just be more adventagise for serious off roading. I'm running 28" Swammpers on an EA81 hatch and she does okay. Your 2.0/2.5 will be fine. If I'm reading your post correctly, do you have an automatic in it right now??? That's the only way you'd have "clutches". Tim

What did you torque the fly wheel bolts to??? and did you off set the flywheel 120º from the "0" marks???

urgent help needed, wheel bearing related
chef_tim replied to JWX's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I always do things like that in pairs. Don't forget to get the "pin socket" to remove the ring nut on the inboard side. Later, Tim -
Does that take the shock extender out of the picture or do you still use it??? Tim

Mudrat also makes the EA to EJ tranny adaptor, that would be your best bett for getting low range

That's basicaly what I have on my hatch. They were easy to put on look okay too. I got mine at a custom truck and 4wd shop. Tim

I was cleaning out my kitchen junk drawer and ran across the recipt for the Dorman wheel bolts and nuts. These are about 1/4" longer and .03" wider at the kneral so you have to press them in. stud# 610-276 and nut# 611-084. this combination has given me great results with my Pugs. cost was right at $50 for all four corners. If you guys want off roading the Black Hills has some awesome stuff. Dave A. lives there and I'm sure he would look into camping, trails, etc. That would also make it open to folks in CO and MT and WY. Just a thought, Tim -
Thats awesome, looks like they were made for it:) .

I've been looking at the Mile Marker winches, has any one had any experience with that brand??? Sorry I can't help you John, but this seemed like a good thread to find out about that winch. Thanks, Tim

We would like to attend. Timeing could be an issue up to July though. And yes, after somewhere in the $700 range for a day trip to Iowa, lets stick to somewhere we know:lol: . Later, Tim -
If you do need one, I have a good used one. Just let me know. Tim

Tranny swap, wont start now
chef_tim replied to pyromanic's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
When I did my first AT to MT swap I did the same thing. Took me about a week to figure it out. I ended up puting the shifter back on, then putting it in the nutral or park posisition, then took it apart and left the bottem half under the counsel. Tim -
Drilled a hole in the roof, ran the wire inside and then filled it in good with silicon. Tim

Not a direct swap. Loyale is 4x140 and the legacy is 5x100(???) You can drill out a six hole rim or drill your hubs or get Pugs. There are lots of post on this, try the search function and you'll get tonnes of info. Welcome to the board, you have a hand full of good people on your side of the country. Later, Tim

Vicky ordered these for my for christmas, and todat was the first time it's been nice and I had the day off so we put on decals and went wheeling:grin:

I too would like to give a shout out to my home boy Mick. I have alot of his decals on my hatch and even a custom job that he made for me. His work is the highest quality, and the price is always right (with some going to support the board too). let me know when the 06 USMB stickers are out, I'll be in line!!!! Tim

Anyone know where the coolant temp...
chef_tim replied to Tin Soldier's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
why not just buy a new one??? probably be $10-12 and you don't need to worry if it good or not. Just a thought, Tim -
Doorman studs, the guy at the auto parts store just did a cross reference to the factory studs and got me about a 1/4" longer and .03 thicker at the kneral. Later, Tim

Your from Washington, you have 31 posts and you don't know about BYB Lifts and Pugs???? Just giving you a bit of a ribbing. Drilled rims or pugs (see the rim page under 80's rus on the web page) PK Davis makes lifts for EA81s and EA82s. Find him at www.ozified.com. later and welcome aboard, Tim

I've got mine on a relay as well. Three switches to run what I have so far. I like your high beam idea, very convenient. I also have an XT6 alternator for the extra juice. Later, Tim
