Please resize the pics if you put more up. It's really hard to get a good look when you have to scroll around to see. What great fortune to win that!!!

Whats the ultimate block heater system?
chef_tim replied to pyromanic's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If putting a Weber on is the only reason you thing you'll need one then I would say don't worry about it. Temps here regularly drop into the minus teen for weeks at a time during the winter. A good battery and a light foot on the go peddle is all you'll need. Tim -
It is very addictive stuff, these lifted Subbies!!! How ever I will tell you if this is your daily driver you may want to concider other opptions. The car in it's self is not really what you want in the way of an off road vehicle. The auto and turbo make it a fun car for the street but not pounding mud. Now if you just wanted to lift it to look cool, you could try, but I guarentee you won't be able to stay on the road with it.....LOL. I'd really try looking for an old EA81 wagon or hatch. In the end it's all up to you, I'm just sharing some wisdom. Tim

Sorry Erik.......... I just drag it home and work on it here. Tim

Sweet!!! That was going to be one of my first questions.

Glad to see you made it. Can someone help my buddy out, I just don't know the turbos at all. Thanks in advance, Tim

I went walking in my favorite yard to check the spring inventory and was I suprised!!! Two hatches and an 84 turbo coupe, black. It didn't look like it was in too bad of shape, said "bad turbo" on the window. I'm going to call this morning to see what they need for the whole car. Everyone call on the power of the Subby so they give me a good price . Follow up to come, Tim

Hey James, your web-site is comming along really nicely. It was quite barron to start and now it is great to surf around on. Keep up the good work, Tim -
In my first post with all the links there is a "what cars have Webers" thread. Try that one. With Weber carbs there is no such thing as a free meal, you are going to spend so money. Whether you spend $400 for a brand new one of $150 to buy and rebuild a used one, you gotta spend money. Sorry, that's just the nature of it. Tim

All the ones I see up here from the same era as our Subbs still have all their body panels. That says alot in just that!!!!

I've said many times that if I wasn't doing Subaru I'd be doing the AMC Eagle. I think they have a great stance, and their very well built. Tim

Flat out my hatch will hit 72mph and that with a couple of bad lifters. The 87 wagon has seen 90ish mph but you really gotta run the rpm's up:brow: . Tim

The Ford Tourus(sp?) Cat will work with slight pipe modification. It should save you about a 1/3 off the price and as an added bonus, it moves the cat back so that it is not over CV boots. Tim -
More CAlifornia Smog Drama
chef_tim replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hey Brian, if it gets to be to much of a hassle I could make some room at the "suba-ranch" where we got lots of wide open spaces and we ain't got no stinking Smog Nazis.....LOL Tim -
