  1. Welcome aboard. I think the biggest hurdle your going to need to clear is building a relationship with people here based on trust. It would be hard for me to send $350 to someone with out some sort of evidence of an actual product. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not even implying that this is a scan, but BYB has built a reputation here that will be hard to stand up to. Do I think you should try??? By all means, every new product that comes out for our older Subbies is only going to add to the choices we have for modification. Sell a couple of kit, get a sellers feed back score and you will be on your way. Again welcome to the board, Tim
  2. I used the widest flat screw driver and a hammer and just tapped away at it. Alot of it came out in good size chuncks once I got a piece going. Now I'm going to use Breaklean to get off the residue before I bed line it. It did take me several sessions to get it all out, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Later, Tim
  3. How'd I miss this???? Happy Birthday!!! Have a good one Paul, Tim
  4. After what you just went through to replace a clutch you want to start tearing out vacuum lines:confused: . If you really want to clean it out get a Weber carb. Other then that if it runs good........ leave it alone:-p . Tim
  5. You should think about comming to the Mid-West III meet this summer. It sounds like it is leaning toward July in Iowa. You could talk to my wife, she'e from OK and I bet you talk funny just like her:lol: . Tim
  6. So was this project to put SPFI onto an NA EA81 or did you put in an EA82 w/SPFI. I'm thinking very much about doing this swap, but it does sound like a LOT of work. Thanks, Tim
  7. You are correct this has been brought up. There are ATV rims with the 140x4 pattern but as you said their 12" rims, there would be no logical reason to put on a smaller tyre. Tim
  8. One thing I don't want to do is mess with this motor, I do appriciate the offer though. I tired of messing with the Weber too, it runs great but with out the efficiency and power I expected. Is there a list of parts I need to start looking for??? Thanks, Tim
  9. What could I expect in comparision to the Weber??? Better milage??? more topend??? How about my bottem end?? I just want to be sure it will be worth the time and money. If you see Morgan point him to this post to see what he has available. Thanks, Tim
  10. Vicky said since I spent $1100 on my EA81 that I have to drive it till it dies:eek: . BUT, could I put SPFI on to that motor and get the same effect???? It has Brat cams and EA71 pistons so the compression is probably a little high. Tim
  11. There is an 85/6 2wd wagon with a SPFI EA82 in for $395. It seemed to start and run good it does have a tic, hoping it's a MM gasket. This would be to replace my Webered CCR EA81. 126k on the clock, and I'd still have to convince Vicky that $395 basical for a motor would be worth it. Can I count on some serious wiring help from you guys if I jump on it????? Give me your thought both possitive and negative so I can make an informed decision. Thanks, Tim
  12. I got tired of looking and just wired a switch from my other relay to the relay for the fuel pump. Now I get power at ACC position, but if I just want to listen to the radio I can turn the pump off at the switch. Thanks, Tim
  13. Should be http://www.jtoutfitters.com Good info. Tim
  14. I tested the relay and it is good. I think I've narrowed it down to the switched power wire. It is powered until I hook everything up, and then it is dead. It is oposite the ground and with power to it it should close the circuit and power the pump. I've checked the fuses and swapped out the under dash relays just in case. What is it that lets the switched wire know to come on when the car is started??? Could that be bad??? Thanks, Tim
  15. I got corrosion on one of the tabs on my after market fuel pump relay to the point were it broke off. So I go to replace it, same type of relay, same wiring pattern. Now it doesn't kick on. I tried a different relay just to be sure it was good. I'm running power off the battery and using the factory ignition wire for the switch and then just grounding to the frame. The power wires are good (touch them together and fuel pump comes on). The ground is good, multi metered it. The ignition wire has power in the on possition. So any ideas????? It's snowing and I'm getting tired of laying out in it to work on this thing:-\ . Later and thanks, Tim
  16. Hey Dave, the last one I replaced was $14 from Champion Auto. Tim
  17. Uh-Oh, you used the "C" word, might I suggest that you ...........DUCK!!!!
  18. The 205/75/15 will NOT fit on an EA82 wagon without a lift or serious cutting. With that being said, I doubt that they will work on an EA81 car without a lift or cutting. If you want to do this project right, save up for the lift first, then start looking for tyre rim combos. The worst that will happen if you do the lift first is that your car will look funny untill you get desent meats on it:lol: . Later, Tim
  19. almost everything you want to know and more..........http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29778 Tim
  20. Can this get a sticky, so it doesn't get lost. Thanks, Tim
  21. Just a bump to keep this on every ones minds:brow: . Tim
  22. You need to torque the pressure plate bolts to some where in the 12-15 foot pound range. If you over tighten them, they will pull the fingers down just like your discribing. If you want the factory specs I will look them up today when I get home. Tim
  23. Hey man, just got your package, what a suprise:grin: . I think I feel yet another addiction coming on. What do I owe you??? Just let me know and I'll get it off to you. Thanks very much, Tim PS I know this isn't Off Road, but I was sure you would see it here!!
  24. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but tyre threads are probably one of the top three discusions. I'll add a bit of usefull info to this post for you........http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html This is a really good tyre sive converter/calculator. Tim
