  1. Funny you mention that, it is in the paper this week.....$4000 or trade for OB Wagon:lol: . It is hiding behind the camper.
  2. In order of appearence......................... 86 Hatch, 84 Brat, 87 Wagon, Rosy(gone), 97 OBW, and in the garage 05 Impreza 2.5rs. So I still have a bit of a collection:grin: . If I didn't have Vicky as a check valve, the corn field out back would be 2/3 full of Subbies (I know, there wouldn't be a thing wrong with that to me either!!!!) Later, Tim
  3. Well since I got my new Outback something had to go. I just watched my youngest boy pull out of the yard with my "Rosy":( . It's a great little car I really hope he takes good care of it. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=524 Tim
  4. Okay, so I've got it done. Not a bad job at all, just one of those spots that are made for small japanese hands:lol: . It seems to run alot better now, but the CEL is still on. Will the computer need to be reset to get the light to go off? If I do need to what is this OBD Scan Tool? Thanks again, Tim
  5. Dude, you rock!!! I did a search and got a couple of hundred hits. I stopped after the first few pages:grin: . You don't know how sweet pictures are to me. Thanks for the link, Tim
  6. My dealer's service tec read the code for my CEL for me and it is the Knock sensor. I picked it up today and I'm going to install it this weekend. Is there anything I should know/do/or concider before going at this??? Will I need to "reset" the computor?? This is the very first thing I've ever done on a new gen 'Ru, so any help will be greatly appriciated. Thanks, Tim
  7. Try looking through JC Whitney catalog. There are tonnes of them in there. Tim
  8. I pop in every once in awhile, but I'm pretty much old school. Vicky is in the new gen all the time:) . I do have a post over there about the over heating thing.
  9. Yep, the over-flow was plumb full. So that sounds like T-stat?? I'll get it replaced first off. Thanks for all the responce. Tim PS here it is.........
  10. It's an automatic, with 141k on it. and it does have some disturbing symtoms. it runs great until you stop and idle. Then it gets hot. I'm going to start easy ie T-stat and a "burp" treatment. Then on to radiator and water pump if that doesn't fix it. It doesn't act like typical HG problems though. Yes it has heated seats and just about every other option except sun roof. 27's???? Why so small??? This one is going to be the tow vehicle for our pop-up camper. It will get an accelery trany cooler to help it along.
  11. Okay, I know it's not an old school Subby but this is my regulare forum so If it must go to new gen so be it but I wanted you guys to see it first:) . Tim
  12. Thanks Steve. Yep, the fans are going. I did a search and have several options at this piont. Thanks again, Tim
  13. I just picked up a 97 OBW EJ2.5 141K on the clock. Looks nice runs good but as soon as it sits at an idle for a couple of minutes the temp goes to the top!!! Funny thing, as soon as I start to go it cools right back down. Can some one tell me what this is??? (please don't say head gasket). Tim
  14. okay, I've got a start on it. I'm using the EA81 rails and making a steel bar go from side to side and then I'll bolt the seat to that. If I remember I'll snap some pics. Tim
  15. Is this still the same car from your first post??? If it is I think you said there was some rust. Was it a 4wd??? Automatic or manual shift??? Maintenance has already been discused. For $1800 it had better be in excellent condition, if there is rust on it then the low mileage is a mute point. Can you get some pictures of it, would help in getting you a good price? Tim
  16. Absolutly amazing what a search will yield on this forum!!!!! I'm going to be putting standard GL EA82 seats into Vicky's Brat. Will I need a brack for this operation as well??? I put GL10 seats into the car I pulled the future Brat seats out of and they were a direct bolt in, seems to me I will need the same braket wether higth adjustable or not. Thanks for any words of wisdom before I tear into this thing. Tim
  17. What's inside a hydaulic lifter?????? I took this apart to see if there was any visible signs of what a collapsed lifter is/was. The only difference I could tell for sure was the anoumt of tension on the top of the lifter itself. I put in two that were noticably more firm then the ones I pulled out. So far so good. I also changed the oil pressure sending unit while I was down there, didn't make any difference so OP must be what that reads apx 25. or less.
  18. AMEN!!!!! If you are going to depend on a magazine to pick your car then find the one with green dots or what ever they use to designate a perfect car and buy that one!!!
  19. What route will you be taking??? We are a good I-90 way-station. Later, Tim
  20. DON'T BUY IT, WHAT EVER YOU DO, DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!! and by the way, where is it (phone number would be fine) and just how good is the price:confused: .
  21. Confucius say:"Dial up will teach man patience or man will languish waiting on OT posts".
  22. I'm sure glad you didn't start cutting into that thing, way to nice of a car for that!!! Tim
  23. I have to agree that it is plain butt ugly on the out side but the interior is very cool. Like a cockpit or something. First the Baha, now this..... next it will be a "V" something engine:banghead: . Tim
  24. Right now we have 5 subbies and two are lifted, I usually drive each of them as often as I can. So I guess what I'm saying is yes, ours are daily drivers:rolleyes: . Tim
  25. Hey, wazzzz up?? you won't get much responce in the middle of the night, give it a few hours in the light of day and you'll have a few hello's back at you. Welcome to the board, now get off the 'puter and go find that dream Subby:lol: . Later, Tim
