  2. It's okay Caleb, I wasn't going to let Radio go anywhere except the best of homes. Micky do you still need that pitching rod bracket?? Tim
  3. Groovy, flashbacks are like "frequent flyer miles"...... . Tim
  4. When the T-shirts come out put me down for at least one. That is way cool!!!! Tim
  5. Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the Board. We are just a little South of you in Sioux Falls:D . Around here a car that is less then 10 years old is just about brand new!!!!!! See you around, Tim
  6. I had the exact same thing on my 86 wagon. It acted like there was alot of water in the fuel. Eventualy I can to the same conclusion that you did, turn off the key and it seemed to "reset" and it would be fine. I changed the carb and it has beeen fine ever since. Later, Tim
  7. At 16 what you need are "skills, ability, and experience". Try getting those down first, before you kill yourself, or worse yet someone else!!!! Lecture over, Tim
  8. For $20 and 30 minutes, I'd start with the cable. This is one part I always go through the dealer for. Later, Tim
  9. I used to get down every once in awhile, but I think you get to a point where you've done so much and learned so much that you simply become confident in your car and your ability to fix it. You can only throw so much money at one of these (I for one have invested well over $5000 into my Hatchback). I would trust that car to take me to the ends of the earth and back. Now if something breaks I either just fix it or come here for help and inspiration!!!! No mess, no fuss. So, I guess what I'm saying is, stick around learn some stuff and sooner-or-later you'll reach the level of "SubbaMello" Later, Tim
  10. My first thought was a timeing belt issue. The tensioner could be the squeal, and if it locked up it would have a burned rubber smell. the belt could have slipped, the tortioner unstuck and now the timeing is off a cog or two. All this is theory of course, but something to look at. Do you know when the belts were last changed?? Tim
  11. http://www.automotive-axles.com/ New, not remans. Alittle more money, but money well spent. Tim
  12. This is the best converter I've found. Takes inches to metric and vise a versa..........http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html
  13. I just put my carbon canister back on according to Camerons instructions. After re-jetting and adjusting my Weber I was back down to 14.5 mpg!!!!! There was a serious pressure build-up after I plugged everything off, so bad infact that when I opened the gas cap gas would splash out:eek: . Now I hope it will "breath" correctly. I also checked the plugs and they were just right, a nice toast brown. Pulled the pressure regulator too. I'll let you all know how it turns out, Tim
  14. That is exactly what the 'ol boy at brake shop did for my Sub. It took him a few minutes, then he ordered them for me and sold them to me for cost. I gave him a five for his trouble. Later, Tim
  15. The guys at my local Exahust Pros did it for me. Those guys are awesome . Tim
  16. On the roll bar, every good 4wheeler should have one of those too!!!!
  17. I just bought a set of 205/75/14 Mastercraft Courser OTDs nice aggresive tread, seems like a softer compound rubber and I think Mastercraft is a Cooper made tyre. $355 for all four mounted and balanced. Tim
  18. Hugo, there is just so much that a suspention can handle, I think you've found that point. You could go to a solid axle and probably get a little better, but that poor tortion bar under your Brat is really suffering. Sorry, I know it's not much help, but the car wasn't designed to haul like that. Later, Tim
  19. It's not so much the diff that matters, it is the gears inside that make the difference. If it is a 3.90 VLSD then yes it will work, had one in Vickys car. Later, Tim
  20. H.M.B.W.T................... Hold My Beer and Watch This!!!!!!! (most often heard on the trail, right before the video shot that is guareented to end up on Extreme TV). Tim
  21. I'll be in the area next week. Nov 16-18. Cocoa beach, I'll be flying into Melbourne. Later, Tim
  22. I have a spare Gov shaft if you want to keep the auto for awhile. I can't tell you about the 4spd, we just kept the original 5spd D/R. Tim
  23. YIKES!!!!! $150 each????? thats a full set of pugs. Plus if you happen to break or bend one how would you ever get it replaced???? They are nice to look at but so are Snap-on tools....LOL Later, Tim
  24. Sorry flying down. Patrick is dead on mate!!! I'll actually be staying at the Radison. Now I see there is a whole thread with guys from FL, so what say, a little get together???? Later, tim
