  1. Boz is right on, don't waste the time on a MN rust bucket. Try and find a good body with a shot motor, then lift that and transplant your motor into it. Where in MN are you located?? Later, Tim
  2. I've got the GCK axles and yes I've been very pleased with them. I bought mine off the net. Doesn't sound like an axle though. try putting it into 4wd and then listen for the sound. Later, Tim
  3. Hey John, I got the center caps, just what I was looking for. Will you Email me your addy and I'll get you taken care for them. A million thanks, Tim
  4. I'm going to ditto everyone else, I use 3rd gear up to about 4k, to get 60mph. even on slight inclines 4th dies out. Stick with the 4 gear, you're not going to hurt that EA81 running at 4k. Best to you at school, Tim
  5. Go to the local auto paint store. They should be able to mix it, and put it in a spray can for you. Tim
  6. I thought it was Enus from The Dukes Of Hazzard, but that would have been "kookookoo, come on Flash......it's hot pursuit time" Tim
  7. From memory that sounds very correct. I'd go and look at mine but it's dark out and I'd never find it in the bottem of the tool pit. Later, Tim
  8. 27-28 could be a tentative date for us to go up. August is kind of crazy with my new job and all, so a break would be good. Seeing all that mud, well, you get the picture...LOL. Tim P.S. Dave we will never have a "good" Subaru meet, we are cursed!!!!
  9. Hi left coasters, I'm going to be at Fairchild on the 16-20 of August. It would be cool to meet up with any of you guys in that area. It will have to be after duty hours, maybe get together for dinner or something. Anyways, if your interested let me know. Later, Tim
  10. Morgan, that is soooooooo tempting!!!! I think I'd like to come up and play with you guys some time. Just keep posting dates when your going and eventualy we'll make it up. Later, Tim
  11. The Electric choke works more efficiently, and uses the same wire from the old Hitachi. The water choke will require plumbing of AF from somewhere and add more hoses to replace. Stick with the Electric or manual (DGV5) carb and you'll be better off. Tim
  12. Depending on miles, I'd say just replace it while it's out. Don't forget new MM gasket too. Tim
  13. Welcome to the board and let me be the first to say............. "Pictures, pictures, pictures" . You're definatly in the right place with that car!!! Hope to see you around, Tim
  14. Yep, Diapers that have been washed a few times make great car and shoe polishing rags.
  15. Sooooooo Matt, are you willing to stake the price of an Obsidian pearl Black paint job on this???? There is no way I would use a powered buffer on this thing. First problem is it will leave "swirls", secondly, you run the chance of burning the paint if your not very careful. I'll spend the time and hand buff with a soft flannel towel. Later, Tim
  16. Too bad you didn't post here before spending that kind of money on a factory motor, we would have steered you to CCR in CO. http://www.ccrengines.com. As close to a factory motor at less then half the price you paid. Sorry you have to go through this though, Later Tim
  17. Hope you think about those corn fields the next time you eat a big 'ol steak:lol:
  18. It was a way for Subaru to avoid import tariffs, buy designating the old ones as passenger vehicles (seats and belts in the bed). They didn't have to pay the higher truck tax. Tim
  19. Look for Archemides or Morgan, they are both up in the Twin Cities area. I'd bet they have all the best wrecking yards scouted out. PS, Be sure to NOT get the "390" metric rims, a few people (not from this board) have tried to push them off as 15". PSS, also try Ebay. Later, Tim
  20. Just under $200 for the whole kit, PP, Disk, throw out and release bearing, and the aligniment tool. The one in my wifes car is acctually on it's second car. The clutch I fried at MWII was a LUK, I think guys can tell you it didn't go with out a fight. Tim
  21. I'm gonna stick with LUK clutches, you get alot of clutch for the money. Later, Tim
  22. Take care, and we'll be here when you come back......LOL. Remember, "You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave". Tim
  23. I've had that happen when replacing intake gaskets, you get antifreeze in the head and it smokes for awhile. Any chance you got some in there???? Tim
