  1. That's pretty sweet looking. But yeah, you do need a light bar on the roof.
  2. All 4 cylinder motors fire 1-3-2-4 The Justy and ER27, EG33, and EZ30 are exceptions
  3. Yeah, there are push button manuals also. Just Single Range though.
  4. I agree, it would be a cool thing despite how useless. I wouldn't mind on on my XT.
  5. Wastegate duy solenoid is on the turbo itself. Dunno what the Pressure sensor duty solenoid is though? An NA car should run on a non-turbo ECU. NA is non-turbo [edit] here's a thought. Have you checked that the disty in the right position? I don't know if your JDM motor came with the disty on it already or not, but it might be good to check. If that's good, have you checked that the disty cap isn't 180 degrees out of rotation? On mine, the #1 spot on the cap is pointing north (up)
  6. Its 1-3-2-4, counter clockwise. Geez gary, you deleted your question, so now my answer is null.
  7. I've seen pictures of an XT from New Zealand that had a rear wiper. But yeah, only USDM soobs I've seen with rear wipers were wagons or the EA82 coupes.
  8. Easy way to tell is by looking at the shift console. If you have D-3-2-1 (or a switch labeled 1-hold), then its a 4EAT, if its just D-2-1, then its the 3AT.
  9. Gotta love threads from 2004 that have been revived! My 86 XT Turbo was named R. Dorothy Wayneright by the previous owner (cutie-ru/roni). I call it Dorothy. My 88 XT6 (for sale!) is affectionately named doorstop.
  10. My XT Turbo is running SPFI pistons... Nothing but premium for her. I'd hate to imagine what anything lower would do to her. I would say, you'd be fine with regular. Just listen for nocking, and pay attention to any stumbling / hesitation from the car.
  11. Wheel pattern: 4x140mm. Pretty much only 80s subaru wheels or various puegot wheels will fit. If you search the forums, you can find stuff on doing a 5 lug swap from an XT6, or you can redrill your hubs to 6 lug. Engine swap: Many people have put in EJ series engines (like the 2.2L in the legacies). No need for a different frame if you stay in the subaru family. Some just may require more cutting and hacking than others. You could even swap in an EA82T to net you some more power. If you want more info on any of that, the search link is right at the top of the page!
  12. My FWD XT6 averaged about 22 in the city (we gots lots o' hills), and about 28 on the highway. The last tank on the XT Turbo, I got 28mpg. That was a mix of highway and city driving. I was actually quite amazed at that...
  13. Holy crap, this was in another thread. Its not a CF hood, its a CF hood scoop.
  14. My bro has 243K on his 89 GL 3dr coupe, original motor.
  15. Read a little closer, its a carbon fiber hood scoop.
  16. I'm pretty sure the steering wheel won't. Different spline count. Someone on XT6.net had purchased an aftermarket steering wheel for the XT6, and none of the aftermarket adapters fit. It seems the XT and XT6 both have a completely different spline count from their EA-82 bretheren. Not sure about the shifter. You could always try
  17. Do you know if the turbo is good? It could be in bad shape and spewing oil and coolant into the engine.
  18. Those performance chips are useless. They trick the ECU into thinking the air is colder than it really is... yeah, you might gain some power, but the ill-effects can be pretty bad.
  19. I assume if the pressure runs out, just get outside and pressurize the tank again. These are so cool ways of limping a car back.
  20. I'll be there sporting the XT Turbo I just acquired today.
  21. My XT6 does that, but only with the headlights on. Wanna know the reason why? Cause the voltage is going up and down :-p I added a new ground to the chassis, and that helped a bit.
  22. I'm sure it'd do great without timing belts, as long as you have someone to push Sorry, had to
  23. Also same reason most auto makers use a timing belt instead of a timing chain.
