i might have a lead on one of those 3rd eyes, i`ll let you know
-
the only thing with it is that i had to chop out most of the center rad support beam to get it to fit. also had to eliminate the cyclops electric motor and replace it with a manual choke cable. (actually worked pretty nice) had the switch and cable hidden under the dash.

what kind of tranny are you running? it looks vw, but i`ve never seen an automatic vw trans in a beetle, maybe a in a squareback. -

My idea for multiple seating options for the Brat
75subie replied to Qman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
for small kids it'd be alright, but for adults in the first row it would be extremely uncomfortable. my shoes almost touch the tailgate if i sit in the jumpseats. -
changing my tranny s/r to d/r
75subie replied to tsutomu's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i did a d/r tranny swap pretty recently. with 2 guys, it was still quite a job. the hardest parts were the shifter linkage (getting it to seat properly, and putting the pivot bolt in.) and also positioning the tranny onto the motor. if you have 2 guys, its not extremely hard, but if you are doing it yourself, GL -
custom make a cowl induction hood:grin: now that'd be sweet. just cut a section out of the center of your hood and raise it...........it'd be the first around for sure

75subie replied to Pooparu's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
i found the emblem the other day, but forgot to get a pic. please keep me in mind when you start making the brat stripes as i will be restoring my brat shortly. if you'll consider a discount, i`ll give you the subaru script emblem (i`ll ship it to you) -

if you get them just right, i'll be your first customer. how much do you think they will cost after the first ones are made? -
Christmas Eve P&P Score!
75subie replied to RenaissanceMan's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
nice deal, might be worth reselling it and buying a more reliable ej22 for the brat. i recently picked up one for resale. it has 65k as well, and i got it on the $65 special engine day at harry's upullit. -
unless you plan on making it a show truck i wouldn`t go crazy with it. bend everything back to where it needs to be or close to it. wheel alignments can be adjusted. if you are still going to put the wrx drivetrain in it, it would be cool to find a striaght wrx front end (jdm front clip or something) and adapt it onto there so that the ej20t will bolt right in, and from the front it will look like a wrx:grin:

i`ve been lucky w/o it so far, but there is always a slight chance of getting some damage. it all depends on if you are going for as cheap as possible or as safe as possible

75subie replied to Paisan's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
when you guys arrive in Newburgh i`ll ride out and meet you with the brat. i`m 5 mins from there. where are you eatin anyway? -
das auto shippers period. they will out do any independent shipper any day. i`ve shipped 6 cars with them cross country and haven`t paid more than $650. also have paid as low as $450. the trick is to do a terminal to terminal shipment with no insurance (thats $200 right there). i have never had a car damaged by them either.
