  1. I know, its kinda like watching a car accident, you want to look away, but you just can't!! What he is saying goes against everything I've learned in my advanced power mechanics class. To each their own, I suppose!
  2. Guys, he wanted to know our opinions on MUFFLERS, not exhaust diameters. I'm running a Flowmaster muffler from a mustang. It is 2.5 inches and is nice and flat. When I had my shop weld up the exhaust, they were able to really get it up close to the underside of the car for high clearence. I capped the system with a length of stainless 2.5 tubing, and it looks great! I still have the factory down pipe and cat on, so its not very loud, but the reverberation it has on high rpm deceleration is awesome! Can't wait to hear it with my new 3" DP!!! Here are some shots.
  3. If you guys do go out in the next few weeks I will probably have most of the necessary stuff done to my car and can tag along then. Maybe I'll actually make the xmas tree run this year...
  4. Keep us updated, I'm interested in a stronger clutch, but was leaning towards a WRX unit.
  5. Davalos, your tire guy is on crack! My turbo wagon has 185/70/13s stock and they are not even close to rubbing. If we could get them to make a set of the Silverstone wheels in 15 or 16 inches, I'm in 100%, no doubt, swear to god I'll buy 'em. Heres an example: http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/details.asp?wheelid=196&name=Silverstone%20Custom%20Offset&style=401&desc=2-piece%20painted%20center,%20polished%20rim&section=V#
  6. I finally have a reliable lifted car with me up at school. I was wondering if any of the Bellingham natives would be willing to show me some mild spots to actually test this wee beast since I didn't have a chance to test her before moving up here.
  7. Drat, wish I could make it, but I already have commitments that evening. Maybe give more notice next time for those who don't frequent the evil boards... hahaha:grin:
  8. Damn Dave, I almost went to that event, but with bent steering components and no O2 sensor on my wagon, plus the fact that I was moving 100 miles north, the weekend before didn't help at all. Those are some great numbers, probably more than double what I would have pulled.
  9. I agree, it shouldn't be too hard to swap it out, just make sure you get the correct wires to spice and ground so that the car will still start with the 5 speed.
  10. Wow, thats pretty friggin sweet!! My buddy is repainting his car soon... Maybe we can get something tight on there, 4WD or something.
  11. I assume your car is 2WD. Thats a good start, because the 2WD struts have a shorter body then the 4WD ones. The next step is to find a set of EA81T front springs. They are lower and stiffer than other EA81 springs, and grab the front sway while you're at it. Then throw on a rear sway bar from an EA82 vehicle. Unless you go for coilovers, thats about all you can get.
  12. I need to get off my butt, fix my car, and get out on the track with you, Ed!
  13. They actually ARE subaru seats. XT6 seats to be exact! They don't bolt right in, but if you have access to a welder, it ain't no thang!
  14. The people who ride in my car can never figure out how to roll down the windows, so I figured that I'd just put a switch on the door. Why subaru didn't do that in the first place, I'll never know!
  15. I don't need any parts, just the knowledge of how to add an auto switch where there was none on my passenger side front door.
  16. If I read correctly, in the upper right hand corner of that picture it says, "Representative Photo". With that part number, you will be getting a longer version of our stock rear shock.
  17. Thanks, I really like having the flaps all around (Didn't really help on my wagon at the show, haha). The shocks I'm running are Rancho RS5000s for the rear of a 97 to 01 Jeep TJ with a 2.5 inch lift. Rancho P/N 5241, I think I got the pair new from Schucks for $118 out the door, IIRC. They need some modification to fit (grinding the top mount and shims down low) to fit, but its actually not too bad. The rubber boots are a pain in the rump roast to get on, but with some soapy water you can get them on. For as much driving as I've done with them on (None off road), I really like them. They smooth out the ride nicely and aren't overly stiff. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/data/500/medium/IMG_3359.jpg
  18. Well, I just made an offer on an identical set of lights that are in the link above. Hopefully the seller accepts my offer and I'll have some kick rump roast lights soon.
  19. I now have a lifted vehicle worth driving! Took my sweet time getting her done and ran into my fair share of road blocks, but I think I can safely say shes on the ground and lifted!!! As with any project, I still have some stuff I want to do (Need to get those stupid fenders trimmed and my Swampers on there!), so stay tuned for updates! Enjoy the pics.
  20. Has anyone ever added a window switch to the passenger's side front door on an EA81? For whatever reason subaru thought that passenger would not need one. I have an auto up/auto down switch that I'd like to add, but I was wondering if anyone else has done this before and if I need to get any other parts besides the switch and how to wire it in.
  21. Hmmm, looks like Parts America carries Moog parts. I think I'll go for those. Kinda spendy, but worth it I think.
