  1. Alright, let me explain that before you guys jump all over me. They were in the cubby below my glove box. I moved them up to the steering column on Memorial Day weekend and didn't have time to make it pretty. When the gauge cups arrive, the tape will go, and thats not all that is holding them on, they have metal brackets, but they are only temporary.
  2. Well, after my friend installed his WIPAC foglights on his austin mini, the bug bit me. I've had a set of Hella 500 lights taking up space in my garage since last summer, but being away at school, I didn't really have the time or space to install them. When I originally purchased the car, it had a set of Pilot fog lights installed, but one was cracked and that was the only one that worked. Heres what those looked like: I took those off i immediately, but left the harness thinking that I might install some fogs at some point. Well that point has come. The only thing I had to do was install some spade and bullet connecters on the lights themselves to match up to the Pilot wiring harness. This is what my lights look like now: After the lights were installed and tested, I decided to use a factory EA81 fog light switch. That was just as easy as the lights, just add some bullet connecters to the wiring harness. It looks really good lit up next to my center lamp switch! Let me know what you think!
  3. MORE OLD SCHOOL!!! I want to read about cars like mine, because I can read aobut WRXs and legacys in any other mag, but this is the only place cars like mine have a chance to shine. Hopefully, one of my GLs will make it in your magazine someday. More insider info from SOA would be cool too. Oh, and see if you can't stuff more of everything into each issue, it doesn't last more than an hour and then I have to wait a whole two months before I get a new issue!
  4. Yeah, I say scan everything if you have the time and sanity! This could be VERY useful to the gen 1 folks.
  5. I just put a set on my ea81 wagon and it seems to rub some. Mainly when turning and reversing at the same time. I'm planning to get tires that match the factory diameter, and that will solve any rubbing issues.
  6. Realize that the RX in that picture IS sitting on grass which makes it look much lower than it really is.
  7. I've heard rumors that aircooled VW engines will bolt up to subaru trannies and vice versa. Can anyone verify this?
  8. There is a difference between EA81 and EA82 wheels. Be aware of that fact.
  9. In the dirt, my wagon will oversteer with a little scandinavian flick or if you lift off big time in a corner. Of course this will all get much easier to do when I put on the rear anti-roll bar.
  10. Well at http://www.tirerack.com they list these tires in your size and price ranges: Kumho Victoracer V700: competition tire for $120 Sumitomo HTR 200: High performance All season $42 Thats about all I found in the sizes you were looking for.
  11. If those are cheap, they WILL be on my car this winter!
  12. My Dad speaks swedish, so he translated part of the last article for me: "Av de som äger en Subaru är nämligen 77,8% helnöjda med sin bil enligt undersökningen. På andra plats kommer Mitsubishi med 52,8% följda av BMW på 51,5% och Honda med 50,8%. Det är alltså ett jättehopp från andraplatsen till Subarus seger!" Roughly, "According to the study, 77.8% of those who drive Subies are completely satisfied. In second place is Mitsu with 52.8%, followed by BMW at 51.5% and Honda with 50.8%. It's a giant hop from second place to Subaru's win!"
  13. Nice score Mick! I really like that model, so hopefully there will be one or more on ebay soon.
  14. My suggestion is to go out to you nearest large book/magazine store and find a copy of Sport Compact Car. They just did an article on octane boosters that was pretty helpful.
  15. If you mean stastic compression, then the EA81T has 7.7:1 while the N/A Ea81 has 8.7:1.
  16. Might need a new speedometer cable, it sounds like that might be it. Look it over and see if it is kinked anywhere.
  17. Tex, I'll get a picture of my complete brushguard. I also might be interested in one or more when you're ready to sell.
  18. Thanks! Those wagon ones on ebay are more expensive so I was hoping the cheaper hatch struts would fit.
  19. Are the struts on a EA81 wagon the same or different from those on an EA81 hatch?
  20. Looks great! I really like those wheels on your brat!
  21. You should see if you can get some vintage Australian brochures to add to the collection!
  22. Looks good. Your gonna have some stiff competition from Wagonpowaa at WCSS7 though!
