Other car make problems...
The Dude Abides replied to unibrook's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAs uncool as it is i really cant complain about my wifes 05Caravan. In the time i have had it i have replaced battery, belt tensioner, idler pully, serp belt, front brakes, power door lock switch, air filter. Dealer has fixed or serviced, 4 tires, water pump, transmission filter replaced, power steering flush, coolant flush. Most of that is just preventative stuff ive done every year to keep up on the maintenance. Even when the water pump broke we still drove around 4 months until i could afford to fix it (long and painfull ordeal let me tell u). During the 5 years we have had it it has never left us stranded, always started. Even the failure prone transmission is still humming along nicely. I think with most veicles if you keep up on things they wont be a problem latter. I wouldnt of even done the coolant work until 100k but with the water pump i figured why not just get it done.

My '83 GL: The Ski Wagon
Wow youve got your work cut out for ya. Get ahold of Mick he has the ability to reprint the side graphics. I might keep it stock if it were me only becaue the ski wagons are rare. But i guess that would depend on how bad some of the other stuff is. You might be better off finding a car from the south and haveing them cut the panels off the car for you.

I do think disc brakes are the best swap ever. But I do think you would enjoy them more in your daily driver.

Tom What i find amazing about you is that you have the ability to have a 5 page thread on a car you dont even own yet. How the hell do you do this.

Where to buy a replacement rear wiper arm ('85 GL Wagon)
What you do is bend the arm. Take it and bend it on the part closest to the blade and it will press harder on the glass. I did it and it works great. Try takeing that arm off the back and let me know if your successfull. And mine came from california.

Light Bar / Brush Guard / Bull Bar / Skid Plate
Would you maybe consider an access hatch. Possibly held on buy 3 bolts which have the nuts welded to the other side. Can you make these for possibly a legacy.

1984 GL Wagon Fwd Build
Im not a big fan of gold wheels but to each there own. Me personally i would go with blue on the wagon wheels and get a set of chrome lugnuts to go with the chrome centercap. Small blue pinstripe on the side to match. Blue with those raised white letter tires:brow: niceeee But youve done a fantastic job so no matter what you do it will turn out great.

1984 GL Wagon Fwd Build
Wow i cant beleive i havent found this thread yet. I would say paint it white. It meshes well with blue goes on easy and you coudl ad some blue accents or pinstripes to the side. Would look nice, though if you went with white i would change the color of your wheels. That would be to much white.

Mosquito Pass, Colorado
Maybe we can work something out. Was thinking about going there around the same time.

My '95 Legacy: Trashwagon10
This i will agree on as well. But for me it depends on what you drive also. Ive driven newer ones with autos and manuals. If you can find a nice 5 speed and do some mild upgrades to them they are fun. I do like the old school.

- newest project will begin again.
To bad about the auction man, that was a nice one to say the least. Though it still might of been worth it at 900 bucks, you know how rare stuff like that is around here. What about your (OTHER) possible new project.- Thinking about a new subaru
Because the kids are old enough they dont use the Latch system. They sit in booster seats to prop them up for the seatbelts. Problem is the boosters are wide so probally the size of a adult with a good size butt. It might be hard, and ive heard the 3rd row on a tribeca is the worst. - newest project will begin again.
