That's kind of common. One of my wrxs will move forward some in neutral on a cold start when it's really cold out. I have 75/90 in that one. I think a real light synthetic would help. Something like the Redline lightweight shockproof might work out well.

It's been back at home with it's owner. I think he got a hood for it without holes, put some custom wide 13" aluminum race wheels on it and was going to leave the body and paint as found. I also think he was going to do some vintage hillclimb racing with it.

The pedal height adjusts by moving the clutch switch and there is an adjustment on the rod at the clutch master cylinder, it's right over the gas pedal.

Good advice, I do this on all the turbo subies I work on. If it has the screens they are in the banjo bolt on the oil feed line from the head to the turbo.

You get used to doing them after a while. I can pop them on in a few mins now. I put the pass side lower idler on last. To get enough room to get the last pulley bolted on, put the belt on all the other pulleys first. Grab the belt and pull up hard on it to take up all the slack everywhere then you can start the last pulley bolt by hand.

I have a harbor freight scan tool for the older obd2 subies. I use a tactrix cable and a laptop for the newer ones.

Hey Dave, I have a 97 2.5 DOHC shortblock. $400 shipped to you. It came from a 97 OBW that broke a timing belt and bent all the valves.

Sometimes you see this when somebody does an oil pump reseal and uses too much sealant. It clogs the oil passage to the head and seizes the cam.

You need the sti rear tophat for sure, it is different, the spring is smaller on the top. The front tophat should be the same. You can use either 04 sti struts or your legacy struts. 05-up sti struts won't fit. These springs won't lower the car enough to notice, but the spring rate is higher.

I put the pump in then the seal, same with the caps. You risk tearing the seal if you put it in the part first, although it does work that way. I use a big socket and a hammer to drive the seals in.

If you look at the supplier, that probably is the same as the OE thermostat. Looks like a decent part, has the jiggle valve. I don't like the cheap aftermarket ones, just because without the little jiggle valve it is a pain to get the coolant filled and the air out. I have never had a performance problem with the cheapie ones though.

That is the breather hose, they don't really leak oil. Could be VC gaskets or cam seals. New PCV valve is a good idea as well. A good idea is to get a few cans of engine cleaner. Head to a self service car wash, soak the engine down with engine cleaner, let it sit about 10 mins. Spray it off with the high pressure hose. In a few days the leak will be obvious.

Most of the major cam makers can make custom pushrods in any size you want. ^I'd go with them because they support subies.

Those are genuine subaru head gaskets. I'd run it a bit more before you retorque them.

I would pass on a junkyard engine with metal in the pan. There are lots more engines where that one came from. Used subie engines are cheap and easy to find.

I think I am going to sell the other WRX, not 100% sure yet. I just figured out today I can afford to keep both.

I figured something like that. The WRX wagon is going to be nice, it's black, I got a carbon hood for it today, he is bringing the rest of the front end parts tomorrow, then I just have to weld in a new radiator support. I'm switching everything from my silver wrx over to this one, the engine and suspension parts, coilovers, 16G turbo, wheels etc. I might go even bigger on the turbo while it's apart and I think I am going to paint my Rota wheels gold on the wagon.

He is going to drop off the WRX parts tomorrow morning.

If I do bring one of my WRXs it will just be to tow the 360 there with. I really hope to be a able to bring an RV and tow the 360 there with that.

I can bring extra tents. My sister is supposed to be buying an RV soon, as long as that works out, I'm bringing that.

If you do the compression ratio will probably end up real low. I have a 97 2.5 shortblock if you need one $400 shipped.
