97 obw wont start after airbags deployed
subaru360 replied to ssheaven's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt bent all the valves. It's an interference engine. If the belt comes off, the valves hit the pistons.

subaru360 replied to garbage's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAgain, anyone can make a website or a post on one. How could the wrist pin be longer? They would hang out the side of the piston.

subaru360 replied to garbage's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSo some idiot made a website with bad info. I've had these engines apart side by side and they are the same. Same part numbers too. Go to the dealer and check if you doubt me. EJ22E and EJ22T take the same part number crank and rods.

mixed up Akebono pads for impreza
subaru360 replied to 89Ru's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX470 fits just about every ej subaru with single piston front calipers. Brake pad part numbers are industry standard, so that goes for any brand pads. They might add a few letters in there but the numbers will be the same.

98 Forester Rear Drum Brake Upgrade???
subaru360 replied to pearlm30's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf you don't get the whole hub, you have to press the bearings on and off to swap the backing plates. That's why most swap the complete hub.

Lightest EJ based soobie for wheeler ???
You'll be looking a long time for a 93 coupe, 95 was the first year for the 2 door. 95 impreza coupe is about as light as it gets. Mine was 2350 curb weight with 1.8 fwd. It had no abs and crank windows. It's still under 2500 lbs with EJ20G and awd. I removed AC, PS,radio, sound deadening, airbags, bumper beams, extra wiring, heat shields, splash guards, fender liners, everything in the trunk and more. My goal was to build the lightest awd impreza possible. I want to get it on a scale for an exact weight soon.

I just scored a 93 Impreza for $200!!!
subaru360 replied to A DOG's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXTo put a rear swaybar on a car that didn't have one, you need lateral links with mounting points for a swaybar, swaybar mounting brackets, bushings, bushing clamps, endlinks and the bar. You do not have to change the subframe.
